Serafina on Newbury Street in the Back Bay brings comfort Italian food to Boston's trendiest neighborhood. Offering pizza, pasta, salads, steak tips, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options there is a little something for everyone.

We are adhering to MA state laws and regulations. Although there may not be a table available to reserve online due to capacity restrictions and weather, we do also accept walk ins and phone reservations. Not the best experience. They only had 2 tables for 2 , both by the front door. The chicken parm had very little sauce and less on the spaghetti. Beers at $13 are a tad expensive, bad pour and warm glass. There are far better restaurants in Boston.

Celebrated Mother's Day here. Lobster gnocchi special was delicious and loved the Falanghina.

This place is solid. Nice space with contemporary decor. The service was great and we actually got to know our waiter a little bit (he was friendly), which was fun. Food was good. This is not a cutting edge gourmet experience, but neither is it an old school stuffy Italian place. Just a nice relaxed place to enjoy a good meal.

Server was wonderful! Super friendly hostesses as well. Had a reservation and was seated right away upon arrival. Food was GREAT, and priced very well based on the quality and the neighborhood. 10/10 would recommend!

This was our second time dining at Serafina but our first time at the Back Bay location. This location is much smaller than the Seaport location; a much cozier atmosphere. The food was just as yummy and the service was stellar as well. Our server was very attentive, offered great suggestions both for drinks and food selections. I hate that I forget his name at the moment but he was from Italy and was just so lovely! The MOD stopped by to check on us and made sure we were enjoying everything. We definitely enjoyed our time at Serafina just as we did when we dined at the Seaport location. Great all around and we will be back!

Went to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and it was a great dinner. Drinks were delicious, food was amazing and the service was quick and attentive.

Wonderful food. Homemade pasta was delicious. We were a party of 4 and everyone loved their dishes! A special thank you to Matthew! He didn’t forget a thing and service was impeccable! I can’t wait to come back!

One of the best Italian dinners I’ve had in a long time. The limoncello bow tie with shrimp was a creative and delicious spin on shrimp scampi. My husband loved the margarita pizza-not salty. Everything tasted very fresh and delicious. Service and atmosphere was fun and inviting. I am definitely coming back here next time I’m in Boston.

Brunch was not good, coffee and food cold. Brunch almost seems like a major afterthought for this spot unfortunately.

My fiance and I are here last Friday evening. We’d had takeout from here a few times and thought the food was decent, my fiance has celiac so the gluten-free pizza options were nice. First time dining in and we were very underwhelmed. First, the vibe in the basement is not great: it’s claustrophobic, loud, and uncomfortable. Our server was completely spaced out and hard to get a hold of. We ordered the mussels to start which were good but not great, and split two GF pizzas. The pizza was decent but the GF crust leaves a lot to be desired. Not terrible for GF. The main reason for 2 stars and not 3 is the value: at these prices (25-35 for pizza or pasta) I expect more in terms of food quality, service and ambience. Seems like a place that is coasting on its location, with subpar overpriced food and not investing in good waitstaff. Probably fine for the patio in the summer but don’t expect much.

First, when we walked into the restaurant we were greeted right away and the ambiance was amazing and cozy, the hostess gave us a selection on where we wanted to seat!!! Our waiter was amazing and so nice. It was my birthday and he took care of us really well and even brought out a tiramisu with a candle and sang happy birthday. At the end, he made sure to tell us that it was on him and he didn’t add it into the bill. Amazing service and good all around and definitely coming back here soon!!!

It was quiet but my friend and I waited a long time for the waiter to come take our orders. Another customer had to send them over to us. Other than that it was enjoyable.

Was there for Sunday brunch. Service was excellent and friendly. Food was unique- ordered the breakfast focaccia and it was a large portion! The Nutella focaccia was delish too. The mimosa not so much…strange taste to it, maybe the orange juice. The ambiance and decor is nice inside- sunny, Tuscan colors.

Celebrated my mom’s birthday! She got the gnocchi and loved it. They had vegan options for me that were clearly labeled. Something for everyone. The waiter also brought out some gelato and a candle which was special! Overall great experience!

We were late for our reservation due to traffic and they kept our reservation. Antonio was our waiter he was great. Our food portions were good and priced well. Our waiters recommendations were great the food was really good, If we are in the area we will eat there again.

Great food and amazing atmosphere. Server was attentive and very polite. They did, however, see us right in front of the door and it was 30° out. We had requested a seat along the banquets but the hostess seemed uninterested and didn’t even great us at the door. Overall amazing food amazing service and wonderful atmosphere.

Serafina was delightful! Our server Antonio was wonderful. It was my husband’s birthday weekend, and the food was delicious! Antonio offered us a very nice birthday dessert. It was our first time eating at Serafina; it won’t be our last. Every employee we met, including the manager, were cheerful and provided outstanding customer service

Lots of issues with our experience today. First my food came then they took it back because my friends wasn’t ready. Ten minutes later her entree showed up but it was wrong. When they fixed it, it was not what was in menu. Overall a disappointing time.

Serafina is always a nice experience. The food preparation, at least with the pizza, varies depending upon who’s doing the cooking. Or It may be that they have adjusted their preparation to accommodate a more American taste and style of pizza than when they first opened in Boston downtown. I would welcome a return of the bubbled, “burnt” edges to the crust and more restrained use of cheese, but perhaps they are catering to the expectations of customers. Regardless, it’s never a disappointment and the atmosphere still feels authentic.

We had wonderful food with great service! We were here from Indiana visiting had a late dinner! Booked it on open table walked from our hotel it was an easy walk. Would highly recommend it! Great Italian food.

We really enjoyed our dinner. To begin with, we were late for our reservation and the hostess was kind and held our spot. The wait staff was great, giving us time between courses to enjoy ourselves. Specialty cocktails were great. The food was spectacular. We each ordered something different and all were equally as good. It was my first “post COVID” dining experience where the felt we were given time to enjoy the experience, rather than rushed through.
