There were no weak links in our 4 course tasting menu with accompanying wine pairings with excellent food and drink. Minor negatives for a well-deserved Michelin-starred establishment included a relatively high level of noise and fast-paced service with little time to linger between courses. Looking forward to returning to see what else the chef may turn out.

We had a wonderful experience at Sepia. We opted for both the additional courses and get well worth our money. The food was incredible and the combinations of flavors were creative and delicious. The service was top notch - attentive without being clingy.

The meals were plated so beautifully we were apprehensive to take a knife and fork to the artwork. Glad to have gotten over the notion of destroying art to enjoy the creations of the Michelin star delights. The ginger consommé gave the creamy foie gras a Thai spin that was delicious. Lightly roasted scallops perfectly balanced in green curry custard and finger limes. Lamb loin melted in your mouth complimented with a lamb belly doughnut that delighted us with texture and spice. We are going back

Our dinner at Sepia was delightful and memorable. Our server was knowledgeable, fun, professional, and set a great pace for our dinner. The food was exceptional. The overall menu was full of wonderful options for both of us and we have very different tastes. The ingredients were fresh and innovative. And the presentation was beautiful. We added the wine pairing and the selection of wines was thoughtful and added great depth to the overall experience. We will certainly return to Sepia again and again. Thank you to the owner and staff for all the hard work they have put into this amazing restaurant.

We came down to Chicago from all over the country. We all fly into Grand Rapids Mi where the beginning started and then we take the train down to Chicago. We had been planning this meal for months when we knew we would be doing this trip again. From the start it was nothing short of impressive! The mixologist at the bar was friendly, engaging in conversation, we had so many questions and considering none of us drink he whipped up this seasonal fizz for us that knocked it out of the park! Now, let’s get to the good stuff. The food, just the simple bread was baked perfectly. But the first course of steak tartare for myself was a melting pot of flavors the punch of dill and the creaminess of the horseradish through out was delicate and flavorful the beef was tender and melted with each bite. The Foie gras was immersed within this broth that highlighted each and every flavor profile within the dish its self also. The richness of the liver and creaminess was highlighted by the fresh cilantro sprinkled on top. The monkfish was tender, flavorful and the sauce that is poured ontop just highlights the tender flavor of the fish. The final dish was a sheep’s milk yogurt cloud cake and the softness of the cake, topped with that yogurt that was so fluffy while the spoon just glides through it and once it hits your mouth the intense burst of cold from the yogurt just exemplifies what this dish is. We have came once, and we will return again. Thank you.

I met a friend traveling from out of town. We had eaten at Sepia many years ago. We were both delighted at the high quality of everything from the circuses to the amazing food! The ambiance is moody, relaxed lux, and nurturing. Everyone was welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I also thought the set dinner menu with about 5 choices per course was varied complete. I can’t wait to return. IGM

We had the perfect dinner starting with a great cocktail made by Keith, the most attentive bartender. The tasting menu was exceptional from start to finish. Sepia never disappoints!

Made my boyfriends birthday dinner super special with a custom menu and staff was so polite and helpful. Room was a bit crowded and could hear the guests sitting very close to us loud and clearly.

The team at Sepia went above and beyond to accomodate allergies that my three kids have. The kids had some of the best food ever. The steak tartar that I had was a mind blowing experience that perfectly balanced flavor and texture in a way that starts the 4 course meal off with a bang. The whole staff was nice and really cared about our experience. I’ve been to many fine dining places and Sepia has to rank in the top 5 of place. We went to honor my wife who had passed last year. She introduced me to this type of fine dining experience. So it was extra special to have this type of experience in memory of her. If we’re ever in Chicago again we’ll definitely come back to Sepia.

Outstanding service. Outstanding meal. Everything was perfect; from the friendly host team to all the front of the house team. In my reservation, I stated that my mom didn’t speak English and the whole staff that touched our table made the effort to speak to her and explain everything in Spanish. Our server was amazing, very knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. Cannot thank the team at Sepia enough for an amazing dinner and experience. Thank you!

From start to finish we had an amazing time. We partook in the four courses and added caviar and the wine pairing. Cannot recommend enough. Best meal I’ve had in a long time!

I had a great experience at Sepia. Food was delicious and creative. Staff was very kind and attentive. There were some minor issues with my order but the staff was great about addressing them. I also wish there were more than one vegetarian option for each tasting course. All that being said, I would absolutely dine here again and recommend Sepia to friends.

Enjoyed a special dinner with a few "bosses" in town. Everything was outstanding, especially the food. They were still talking about it days after. This is the kind of place that, with its excellence and innovation, inspires you to Up Your Game! Highly recommended!

Sepia has wonderful food, a tantalizing atmosphere, exquisite cocktails, and a staff that is just superb. My wife and I came to eat here and could not have been more impressed. My wife is vegetarian and they accommodated her needs without losing any of the value of the plates presented. Eating here felt like an experience and not just another night out. I highly recommend Sepia to others wishing to indulge in a top-tier food experience.

I really hate leaving bad reviews, but I’m beyond baffled that this place has maintained a Michelin star. The food was mediocre, the flavors were over the top and unevenly balanced, unnecessarily strong with nothing to compensate, two dimensional at best. The service was about as good as a chilis, drinks ran empty and were ignored for prolonged periods. If you’ve never dined at a truly fine dining establishment, skip this place, it will ruin you. This place is a prime example of why my chef friends tell me to look at the James Beard award recipients beyond the Michelin system. There is a difference between eating and dining, this was eating.

Not enough stars-5/5 doesn’t do our Sepia experience justice. This was our first Michelin Star restaurant experience and we weren’t disappointed. My wife and I enjoyed our chef’s tasting menus and wine pairings. We have spent several weeks in Napa and Sonoma on wine tasting excursions and disagree with previous comments that the wines and foods were mismatched. Our pairings were spot on without exception. The service was attentive but not overly so.
