The decor is lovely, and the tables are spaced far enough apart to permit easy conversation. The food we had looked appetizing, and ti was indeed delicious. Our only negative was that the service seemed a little slow, although all the staff were courteous and very helpful, once they appeared at our table.

When you serve chicken at a restaurant, there should be vegetables with it. Even though we ordered appetizers and salads, the person who ordered chicken at our table was so annoyed at the stingy overall meal, at a high price point, that it left a bad taste in all of our mouths.

Fantastic dining experience. High quality food ingredients put together in unique and delicious ways. Details focused on the individual and complex sauces and flavor profiles of each dish. Excellent, attentive and top notch service. Beautifully appointed and decorated dining room. Open kitchen within full view of a large portion of the diners. All employees including the owner himself had a way of making guests feel like V.I.P.’s, which in the sometimes haughty and snobby world of New York City fine dining is a Unicorn. Dish proportions tended to be on the smaller side, which was deliberate so as to encourage sharing amongst all at the table, which is a nice concept, although it can lead to check prices on the higher side, but this is to be expected in higher quality restaurants in New York City. Difficult to avoid the higher prices if you desire a top quality dining experience. On par in that department with their peers. Overall a great dining experience with excellent daily specials as well as an amazing selection of pasta dishes. One additional and very positive note…the seating and tables are thoughtfully spaced so as to give ample room between each giving the whole restaurant an open and airy feel. This is extremely rare in NYC restaurants as most tend to cram in as many tables as possible to maximize revenue which can lead to a very crowded and uncomfortable experience. This place is the exact opposite and it’s more roomy and open feel is the way fine dining like this should be experienced. Can’t recommend trying Sempre Oggi high enough. It won’t disappoint.

It's the food... and the service... and the atmosphere.... This hat- trick of a restaurant has placed it amongst the best that have come to the Upper Westside in recent years. Chef Basone has clearly set the standard for what new Italian cooking means. Authentic dishes that can be traced back to the original villages where they were created and prepared with care and love. The front of house and waitstaff are all incredibly knowledgeable about the plates they are serving; where the ingredients are sourced and what to look for in the flavor profile. An approachable wine list complements the menu, with many reasonably priced choices. The decor is modern yet sumptuous and has a clear and inviting theme. Sempre Oggi, where have you been, we needed you!

We had a wonderful dinner at this new neighborhood Italian restaurant! All of our food was phenomenal and our waitress was amazing. She knew so much about the menu, was able to answer all of our questions and made wonderful recommendations. We will definitely be back!

Seems like they’re still working our service and staffing. Space is absolutely beautiful! Food was ok - very pricey, even by NYC standards.

Forget about your diet and order both the focaccia and squash blossoms - they are so good. Sempre Oggi is a welcomed edition to the neighborhood.

My wife and I love to cook. She would tell you that I am a very tough critic of my own cooking, evaluating every detail of the finished product to determine what mistakes I have made and how the dish can be made better in the future. This self criticism also makes me critical of food I eat out in restaurants, because quite frankly it is not that often one gets something truly new and unique and tasty. Well I am happy to report that my dinner at Sempre Oggi was the trifecta of new, unique and tasty. I had the "tumminia busiate with pesto alla trapanese", which was fabulous. The pasta was unique and perfectly cooked (al dente) and the red-pesto sauce was unique and super tasty. For an appetizer we had mashed amelia fava beans with sofrito & rainbow swiss chard and paired that with focaccia, both of which were delicious (those two items are a great pairing by-the-way). Overall, it was a terrific dinner and I will return in the future.

Highly recommended. I came here for my birthday with some friends. I was drawn by the menu’s long choice of vegetables with creative presentations. Everything was beautiful and delicious. We shared everything since no one could decide on just one thing. Nothing disappointed. Outstanding dishes were the squash blossoms stuffed with goat cheese - to die for - and the risotto made with stinging nettles. I never had nettles before, but they are a dark, leafy green with a slight sweetness and really yummy. But truly, from the creative cocktails through the lemon pudding nothing fell short. They’ve been open for a mere month, but the atmosphere is polished and warm. The hosts are engaging and friendly, the servers helpful, attentive, and fun but not invasive. And the chef is a wow. The menu changes with the market availabilities, so we will just have to come back and try them all. Thanks for a delightful birthday dinner.

We really enjoyed the food: fluke crude, lamb tartare, halibut and steak were all well prepared and with good accents (pink peppercorns and rhubarb on the fluke). Service was friendly and solicitous. A few slips on timing but otherwise very good. Noise level was initially loud from sounds system but staff lowered the volume and it was much better for our conversation.

All four of us loved it. The place is beautiful, definitely not too loud, and the food was excellent. The wait staff was quite helpful in terms of describing dishes (including where things how/where were sourced.) We sampled 3 appetizers (what a cesear salad!) and then tried the chicken, two pastas, and the steak. All of the food was interesting and tasty. The bartender is top notch, too - excellent Manhattans. We would have liked a more robust dessert menu, and we didn't love the brioche dessert, but the rhubard one was good. Will definitely be returning to try more items. Highly recommend.

Service was very slow. To the restaurant’s credit, they acknowledged that and apologized. We’ll give it another try. We’re hoping that they can work out the kinks before too long.

Authentic Italian food made with the absolute best ingredients. The chicken is worth the hype!! Everything we ate was delicious though. We also thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails (paloma and espresso martini) and their wine list is great.

Loved the ambience and so happy to have a great restaurant on the upper west side. The owner came over several times to make sure that we were happy. The focaccia was unbelievable and the halibut was perfectly cooked. Will definitely return!

My second time there. They Still need to iron out kinks. Mistakes were made, management was very apologetic and gave us dessert and drinks. All in all I would go back for the lovely bar. The food is good but pasta choices are a little esoteric for our taste. How many people want white rabbit on their pasta?

Husband From Rome , I have traveled and understand quality of food in Italy. We were thrilled to try this restaurant, as we are foodies and have gone to super high end to low restaurants . Over all quality was top notch, pasta was delicious.we enjoyed it Pasta was one of the best .Sadly we left hungry and I feel some items were overpriced.stander NY price but expect it Service was outstanding for sure bravo 👏🏼 to Management and waiters .

A GREAT new Italian restaurant on the UWS. Menu is adjusted daily sourcing seasonal ingredients. Pasta and bread are made in-house…and were amazing; definitely get the focaccia. A pasta course is a MUST and portions are perfect for one and perfectly al dente…true authentic Italian style. Sempre Oggi is probably one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve frequented recently…the menu is spectacular, and it’s not pretentious, decently priced, and a heartfelt/family environment. And for campari lovers, there’s a full menu featuring different cocktails inspired by negronis. A must. Truly. And book early. The restaurant fills up fast.
