    The food has always been great, but I just looked at my check last night and realized they have hidden charges. My girlfriend and I always split the wedge before our meals and I noticed a $4 or so charge for a "Split Fee" on the salad that I had never seen on previous bills. Also, they leave a glass water container on the table for you to fill up your glasses yourself which is fine. The container is reusable and just filled with tap water, but they had to refill our container and I noticed they charged around $2 for a water refill. Just small hidden charges that didn't used to be on the bills when I went previously and it has been several months to a year since I had been, but not a fan of these types of charges that I didn't realize were coming. I could have had the salad brought out in one bowl and we shared out of the bowl versus them splitting and putting in two separate bowls and then charging me a $4 split fee. Otherwise the food was good and the server was good, just hidden fees on the check to be aware of.

    Secreto was very enjoyable. Its other positive reviews were spot on and we had a nice dinner (inside seating). I would recommend for a nice, approachable dinner.

    This was my second visit. The first time was a perfect 5/5. Unfortunately, this time was disappointing. We were one of only two tables in the restaurant, but we ended up staying for two hours, not by choice. The service was extremely slow, and the food was disappointing. My pork loin was dry and crunchy on the edges, and the grits were cold. Portions of our order were completely forgotten. Additionally, they were out of a few menu items, but we weren’t informed until we tried to order, and of course, the items we wanted were unavailable.

However not being able to fully satisfy our patrons each visit falls short of the standards we strive to uphold.     We like Secreto and have been going there for years. A few take aways... While this is supposed to be a chef inspired kitchen, the menu has remained the same since they opened, and its not very extensive. We feel they can do better and its disappointing that they don't even seem to try. Secondly and not a small thing, our server was grossly unskilled, undertrained and inattentive. We sat for nearly 25 minutes before she came to take our order and well over 10 minutes before she even came to the table. This is on management for a) not providing her with proper training and b) for not having enough staff on hand for a Saturday night 7:00 seating even though the place was only half full. Thirdly, and not a small thing, there was a toddler in the BAR AREA of all places throwing fits for well over half an hour. That's more on the parents (seriously parents, in the bar???) than the staff, but come on, get the kid some crayons or something. Overall, they can do better, but worst of all, they don't even appear to be trying.

    Our dinner was outstanding. The salmon was delicious, especially with a side of collard greens. The carrot cake topped off a great birthday feast!
