Walk-in's always welcome! Screen Door is a restaurant that presents itself as a love letter to the American South and the revival of regional cooking. Each day, the restaurant receives natural, local organic meats and produce from nearby vendors. The inclusion of regional Pacific Northwest ingredients into a menu of dishes developed in the south has created a unique flavor profile in Screen Door's menu. Many of Screen Doors dishes draw their inspiration from Louisiana and the Cajun cooking that's found there. These include our world-famous Fried Chicken, Lowcountry shrimp and grits, smoked andouille chicken gumbo and fried okra. Other items, like the house-smoked beef brisket and braised pork shoulder, come straight from the state of Texas. The rest of the South is well represented as well with a Carolina pulled pork sandwich, chicken and waffles, crispy fried oysters and a pimiento cheese & sausage biscuit sandwich with a fried egg and cheddar grits.

This place is epic. The fried chicken is magical. The desert was so addictive that I ate until I felt terrible about myself and my complete lack of self control; it was awesome ;)

There is a good variety of sweet and savory foods. I recommend the veggie scramble or chicken and waffles for savory and bananas fosters french toast for sweet.

Abolutely fantastic southern food! Super high quality and a great value. Our server was one of the very best we've ever had. Highly highly reccommend Screen door. My new favorite!

Screen door makes the best friend chicken I have ever had; be aware the batter has a lot of black pepper in it. The restaurant can be very noisy. We were there ion Mother's Day, and even though we had a table in the corner, there were times that it was impossible to understand the other people in our party. The good news is that ScreenDoor does take reservations, and honors them. Yes, we waited about 10 minutes for a table to clear, but it was because of our request for a less noisy location.

As always, great food great value great service. It is a tad noisy but if you know that going in, it’s all part of the festive atmosphere.

I love dining at Screen Door whenever I visit the Portland area. The food is so good and the service is always welcoming. The team even provided me a nice little birthday treat and courtesy as they discovered my birthday had just passed. Definitely a must-eat spot for me every visit.

Excellent Southern style cuisine! The fried oysters were breaded just right, bursting with flavor and the fried chicken is as delicious as always. Gracious, attentive and friendly customer service. Highly recommended

The food felt saltier than usual but otherwise the food is on point. If you like oysters you need to get the fried oysters. They are so delicious.

Fast, friendly service. Cosy and warm inside on a cold wet day! Food is great, generous portions, some different options that you don’t see at other places. Vegetarian choices, including veggie sausages and mushroom gravy. Biscuits are awesome! Highly recommend making a reservation if you can!

Amazing food, great service. Seated about 15 minutes after our reservation time but there were some big groups that needed to clear out first so it was understandable. The food never disappoints.

Staff are incredible and seem to be very in tune with each other. Flow of traffic and management of bar and kitchen is exemplary. Nice work. Food is always delicious. Thank you all for your very hard work. My parents are hard to please and they left full and happy. Thank you thank you thank you.

It was very disappointing that they didn’t have their Shrimp an Grits on their dinner menu any longer! Apparently, it’s only on their brunch menu now.😢

Cinnamon rolls were a great way to start. Asparagus benedict and Chicken & Biscuits were fan favorites of our group. Really good biscuits and hollandaise. Server was very nice and fun, bustling ambiance but really enjoyed it for brunch!

Staff was very accommodating when we changed our reservation. It was really nice to be able to reserve a table on short notice for a special celebration. Everyone at Screen Door made the day extra special!

We had an early dinner - all fried chicken - freshly prepared, hot, crispy, well-seasoned, super tender white meat! Loved the sweet potato waffle and appreciated the warm maple syrup. Wait staff was friendly, food arrived quickly. Good house margarita special cocktail.

The service and food is always top notch! We never leave from visiting Portland without stopping by the Screen Door for a meal or two. Their chicken and biscuits and the chicken sandwich are to die for!

Family brunch to celebrate a birthday, we had chicken & waffles, huevos rancheros, chicken and biscuits, and sawmill breakfast w/veggie sausage, and everyone raved about their food, and portions were very large. Service was attentive and thoughtful. We were able to reserve a table for 5 by calling a week ahead, glad we did because there was a crowd. The restaurant was loud but we were in a corner so it seemed manageable, not sure how easy it would be to hear each other in the middle of the room though. But that fried chicken... I'd be happy to eat it anywhere! Overall, a wonderful experience.

OpenTable was required to eat here on a Sunday morning. Noisy inside, lots of people there, a little long to wait for the food. Huevos Rancheros were top-notch, on my list to repeat next time. Great servers kept the coffee coming.
