Overall, disappointing. Perhaps just not what I expected. It is a cafeteria like space suitable for families with children. Not great for a date or any couple looking for a nice dinner. Lot of hamburger and fries served; nothing wrong with that but again not a “fine” dining place. Thought the menu was very limited, food average at best. Service was okay, but they did bring the wrong entree for my wife. She didn’t have much to eat and it was Mothers Day. They did take it off our bill, but still not a good experience. Maybe we’ll try their breakfast, or maybe not.

Food was good, service was attentive, and the wait time was appropriate. The only reason I am giving them 3 stars is they were out of the two things I wanted to order and the prices are extremely high for the type of food it is.

Visited Scratch at 5:30p for Mother’s Day dinner. Although early in the evening, the orders still took well over 30 minutes to arrive. The adobo loco moco had too much whole peppercorns so my wife got some in every bite, requiring her to remove them from her dish. My bbq beef ribs were mostly cartilage and gristle with little meat. Still, we plan to return and try other dishes since we heard good reviews of the Ward location. Other diners seemed to order mostly burgers, so we hope to try them at our next visit. Although a bit bummed at our first experience, we are glad to have Scratch in our neighborhood.

Decided to give this place a try for Mother’s Day. I’ve been to it before when it was under a name I can no longer remember. Here’s what we ordered and our review: 1. Ribeye: 12oz ribeye was big in size but thin, which is how I personally prefer my steak. Came out medium just as I asked but what made this dish so good is the garlic! If you love garlic, get it! The broccoli was full of garlic, the steak was topped with garlic, and the garlic rice had just amount of garlic taste: 2. Scratch Burger: Burger was good, just the right size, and came with fries. The patties weren’t as smashed as they thought they would be but still good. 3. Fried Chicken (Kid’s Meal): The fried chicken is really popcorn chicken. My 80 year old mother ordered this as she doesn’t each much but couldn’t eat it because it’s too salty. Everyone at the table tried it and we all agree. She didn’t want it returned as she was fine with eating just the fries which were delicious. 4. Caramel Bread Pudding: A little disappointing because the bottom came out burnt, you can see and taste it. Had to ask for more caramel drizzle as it lacked flavor. 5. Escargot: Very good garlic/buttery flavor. Dish comes with 6 snails and 7 crostinis. Definitely need more crostinis to enjoy that leftover garlic butter. 6. Yuzu Lemonade: Light tart flavor; small quantity not enough to quench your thirst after appetizers. Overall, I would definitely come back. I hope to see the menu expand to more options in the future.

Great food. Never been to a restaurant where had pupus, main meal and be out of the restaurant before the hour was up. That’s extremely has service.

Made a reservation for Mother’s Day brunch and asked for the Mother’s Day special, it was their prime rib, but when i got it the meat was kinda of cold? I brought it up to the waitress and she was kind about it and got me a new plate, manager also came over to apologize. Maybe next time I’ll go with the menu items. Overall, it was a good experience except for the prime rib being cold.

We liked the food that we ordered. Service was fast our server (Zeada-Saint) friendly and delightful. I liked the friendly ambiance not too crowded enough room to move around.

First off, Scratch downtown is excellent. Highly recommend. But the one in Kapolei is extremely lacking in quality control. Ordered the fried deviled eggs and they said they just ran out. Now I’m no chef, but I do know it takes 7-9 minutes to boil an egg and 3-5 minutes to fry it. So we ordered the bone marrow instead. Waited 30 minutes before it came out, and it was burnt to a crisp and absolutely no marrow in it. This is where the lack of quality control comes in, to actually send that out is sub par. Sent it back and they took it off the check. My girl ordered the “Berries” and waffle. It came out with no joke, four quarter slices of strawberry and four slices of banana. A strawberry is not “berries”, it’s a berry. Presentation was garbage. I got the eggs Benedict and it was mediocre. Got the bill and there was a 4% kitchen fee. For what!?! Terrible kitchen staff that doesn’t care but gets paid? Will not go back until they get their act together and when I do go back, I will pick them apart and talk to a manager.

Service could be more friendlier. They add 4 percent for “kitchen appreciation”. This is separate from service tip.

Scratch Kitchen did NOT dissapoint ! We celebrated two of our besties Birthdays the other day . Our server Keola was the BEST! He not only gave great customer Service on HIS Birthday too , But was very attentive to our table . The Burgers were MELT in your mouth delicious , the crispy brussels were AMAZING & the Bone Marrow was to die for!! Iʻm so HAPPY we now have a Scratch Kitchen on the west side!!!

Being a Saturday, we were excited to walk into the Kapolei location restaurant. As we walked in, we looked at the food on peoples plates. My husband saw the scrumptious looking prime rib on a ladies plate by the bar. He said I know exactly what I want and without even looking at the menu, ordered it the prime rib. Much to display we were informed it would be only served on Thursday. The waitress informed us that was the marketing manager and his wife. Lol we both chuckled. That was some kind of marketing indeed !! Our drinks arrived after our food did our food did. However, they were very short staffed, but the hostess jumped to help with the table. All in all the food was good and very polite pleasant staff.

Our server was absent most of the meal. She got our order wrong and we were her only customer. There were two other tables at the time dining but another server was waiting on them. The garlic shrimp seemed like it was frozen and defrosted in a bowl of water because it tasted waterlogged with no flavor even though it was swimming in a bowl of garlic sauce. My burger was ok but I’ve had a lot better for less. I’m hoping that it just because they are still trying to figure out things until their grand opening. I’ll give them one more try.

Austin V was a friendly and attentive server. Scratch kitchen is currently operating with a smaller menu but the flavor is Huge! I had the Benedict it was divine, the addition of avocado and tomato had my taste buds singing ❤️ the hollandaise was Perfect and the dressing on the mixed green salad with pickled onions so tasty! My mom LOVED her crème brûlée French toast. It was so delicious she didn’t need syrup! Austin told us the grand opening is in a few weeks and they’ll be adding the barbecue items to their menu. I can’t wait to come back for the delicious food and excellent service. I’ll definitely request to sit in Austin’s section!

A great place for an awesome meal. Service was great, our server Abril was awesome, telling us about the restaurant, the food and drink. Bone marrow and escargot appetizers were rich and filling. The scratch burger was delicious and huge. A definite place to go back to.
