Here at Scalzotto Italian Restaurant, we serve authentic dishes originating from northern Italy. Our pastas and sauces are made by hand and from scratch.

We had the earliest reservations at 4 pm and were welcomed in with no problems. The waiter we had was not good at all, we just wanted water to drink and asked for straws,he dissapered........ We asked another waiter for the straws and our original waiter came with them five minutes later. We ordered appetizers and were brought out in a timely manner. Our waiter came back and wantedour food orders before we had a bite . We specifically asked him if would wait a little bit so we weren't rushed. Of course our main course came to quickly and said something to him and he laughed. Once we were done he came with the bill and we produced our payment card. He came back with the receipt and my card and I went to wash my hands. I come back to him and a manager at the table with my wife and says he has to run the card again because it didn't go through. How can that be we ask because I have the receipt and looked at the bank statement ! The manager then says she voided it and must run the card again. By this time my wife and I are about done here and said this is BS. The manager then says YOU don't have to be so rude! They came back with the new receipt and was a dollar and some cents different, he rang up the wrong table. First time we ever walked out of a restaurant without leaving a tip. As far as the food, meatball appetizer was very good, Fried Calamari was just ok. Kind of chewy, Pasta dish with Italian sausage was very good. Eggplant parmigiana was horrible. A pile of mush. Told the waiter, and he said, oh sorry.

We waited 2 hours for our table. When I made the reservation for 10, I assumed it would be a larger restaurant to easily accommodate large parties.it turned out to be a very small restaurant and there were multiple large parties. They overbooked for what they could handle. Not a good experience.

The gentleman who greeted us at the front door was a little harsh, he complained about people (like me) making reservations thru Open Table. The food was delicious and the servings were large. I got the special spicy carbonara that was supposed to have bacon, chicken and shrimp on it. It had 3 shrimp and I found one tiny slice of chicken breast. Our waiter was great and I give kudos to him for taking care of us and a 14 (or more) top that was seated next to us right after we got our appetizer.

We have been coming here since it first opened. We so much want this restaurant to succeed but it keeps disappointing us with its inconsistency. The restaurant was as busy as we have ever seen it. At first they had a management presence from ownership and things were great. On this visit, (a Saturday night), there appeared to be no management. There were only 3 wait staff and a couple busers. It was a cold night and the heating system was broken. It was very cold indoors. Nearly all the customers and even the waitstaff were wearing coats. We had a party of 4 and 3 of our meals arrived and the 4th took an added 10-15 minutes, after we asked about it. The food was good but not great. The service was not real good but the staff was working as fast as they could. They had to act as hosts as well as waiting on tables. We sure hope they can get more staff and make this place work. Loveland is in great need for good, independent, restaurants. I will continue to recommend this place but with reservations.

Their reservation system was not working correctly and they were overwhelmed. It's took over 1/2 hour to get any service including the waitperson to bring us a cocktail . I had to go to the bar and ask for service. We were planning to leave and find another restaurant but the other places we wanted to go had not reservations for over 2 hours . They had no bartenders so waitstaff had to make their own drinks However, when we finally got our food , it was delicious. Saturday night is not the time to go . Another night might be better. If we weren't celebrating a special occasion I would have left . Food - good Service - marginal

This experience was just ok. First of all, the restaurant was FREEZING. I never took my coat off. The food was not bad, but not great either. I ordered a house salad which was fresh and dressed with a delicious red wine vinaigrette. The entree was beef bolognese which, again, was ok. The portions here are large and I saw many patrons asking for boxes which says something about the food they ordered. Maybe it was just and off night for my choice? We didn't stay for dessert because we were so cold but we will try this restaurant another time.
