Scala Osteria offers traditional Southern Italian, seafood-centered recipes meant to be shared with family and friends in our warm and vibrant dining room. Our menu is influenced by the traditional Italian osteria where creating simple yet delicious food is paramount, and our atmosphere is always inviting and full of life. From our beautiful oyster bar to our house-made pastas and Neapolitan style pizzas, we have something for everyone. We offer varying experiences, from folks grabbing a quick bite on their lunch hour, to couples stopping in to delight in our Oyster Bar, to parties spending hours enjoying delicious Southern Italian fare with perfectly paired wines. Sister restaurant to valley favorite, Bistro Don Giovanni, Scala Osteria is located on vibrant First Street in the heart of Downtown Napa. We are open daily for lunch, dinner from 11:30am to 10pm and late night service from 10-11pm.

Recommend without hesitation! The oysters to the tuna carpaccio were phenomenal and that’s not to say that the staff were not exceptional as well. Whether you are one person to sit at the bar or enjoying a date, I would recommend visiting this restaurant. I look forward to dining again there soon!

This is one of the best restaurants in downtown Napa. A great new addition. Loved everything about this place. I wish there were more vegan options though.

We had a wonderful time on Mother's Day. Soft-shelled crab with remoulade sauce, Wood-fired fish of the day and shrimp and clam linguine. All delicious and both of our bartenders, John and Elvis, were fabulous. :)

Great Mother’s Day lunch. Would love to have the pesto served with a side of toasted pinenuts or red pepper flakes to add some crunch or additional seasoning. Otherwise the lobster pasta olives and fish were delicious. Thank you for a great experience

My wife and I liked the ambience of the restaurant and our drinks were great. The service was amazing! The food was good but didn’t capture my appetite to the fullness of being satiated. Thank you for the experience.

Fun busy restaurant. Great food. I had the clams and they were great. I couldn’t even finish the bowl. The rest of the party had pasta and loved their dishes.

We had a table of 6 and were able to sit in the window which was lovely. The waiter was terrific, knowledgeable entertaining! Frito misto very generous portions, baccaleo (sp) salt cod fritters, served three and cut in 1/2 plenty for an appetizer and delicious. The lasagna was light and fresh pasta, excellent veal Marsala with wild mushrooms, petrale sole incredible, pounded pork chop was nothing like I’ve seen and tasty and the polenta was a perfect side dish to the veal. Panna cotta light and fluffy- the entire meal was incredibly delicious and we will most certainly be back when in Napa. Great ambience and street presence was fun!

Our waitress was awesome! She was engaging and fun! Food was out of this world. The clams- so incredible! Also, that eggplant bruschetta... 100/100!! I tried to recreate it at home, but it just wasn't the same. Definitely will be stopping in again on our next trip to Napa!

The food was excellent, from the calamari to the silky handkerchief pesto past to the tiramisu. The service was also excellent with our waitress providing excellent recommendation on the pinot grigio. Will definitely go back the next time we're in Napa.

Love Scala, one of a few new favorites in downtown Napa! The menu is fantastic, great variety with seasonal elements. Perfect atmosphere for lunch and dinner. Service is outstanding with each visit.

My cioppino was so so.. the seafood ingredients in the stew was subpar , very little seafood, the crabs pieces were very small, the fish pieces were mushy .. i wouldn’t order it again . The table next to us was placed too close. The lady who sat next to us was very loud and obnoxious . Waiter was nice.

Restaurant itself was Exceptional experience, great ambiance, food was outstanding. Bartender kind of dropped off the radar lost interest when we told him we wanted a nonalcoholic drink!

The food was absolutely fantastic. Corkage fee when you bring in a bottle of wine is very fair. A few things that can be improved, is to allow people to finish their salads first before the main dish comes out. Also, the waitress should’ve asked how our meals were midway, but nothing. We had to ask for salt and pepper along with Parmesan cheese. It just seemed that the service was not anticipating what we were expecting, which is what we expect anytime we dine. This was an Italian restaurant in. We felt strongly that there should’ve been some bread provided, but there wasn’t. I ordered some bread and it never came to the table. It did not look like it was too busy. Again, they have a phenomenal Chef which is a good thing. But improvements can be made with service. Service is extremely important to enhance the dining experience. Thank you.

Was seated on the second floor which was a lot quieter, great ambiance, and the window seat gave a pretty view of the restaurant. The service was good, nothing outstanding. We ordered the pesto pasta, mushroom pizza, and cocktail shrimp. The pesto pasta was a little disappointing as there was no toppings or even garnish. The taste was good but for the price I would expect a little more presentation than a blob of green. Mushroom pizza was pretty good. The shrimp cocktail was great, the jumbo shrimp was indeed jumbo and tasted fresh. Overall, the ambiance was the highlight for us and I would give this place another chance.

Hands down, this is one fabulous little osteria! We loved everything. We split a margherita pizza and the veal marsala, and both were out of this world. Service is friendly and at the same time efficient. I don't know if it was just us, but there was a lot of cross table chatter which just added to the ambience. We enjoyed chatting with the people at the next table and even shared our zeppole dessert with them because it was too big for us to finish on our own. Do not hesitate as this is a wonderful place smack in the heart of downtown Napa.

Cool little spot in the middle of town. Had a funghi pizza as a starter and it was fantastic. My wife had the veal for dinner and I had pasta with clams. Both excellent. Cannolis for desert and they were also good. Will definitely return.

Our first visit to Napa and this restaurant was recommended by several people; it did not disappoint. We each had a few cocktails to start followed by great seafood pasta dishes. Tables are close together upstairs which would be my only complaint. Was our best meal in Napa…

Awesome experience! Will be going back soon! The only thing I didn’t like was my seat upstairs was tucked in the corner and it felt secluded up against a wall. Would have liked to see out the expansive upstairs window. But everything else was fantastic!

Lunch was delicious, service was personalized and spot on. Come hungry and have your favorites, they will all be good. Treat yourself to the "Italian donuts," served warm with 2 dipping sauce at the end of your meal. I rarely order dessert but this one is worth the calories! It is a small space and it can get a bit noisy in the evening so I like going there for lunch. So glad to have Scala Osteria as a downtown option! Thank you staff and owners!

We have been to Scala several times in the past year. Our only suggestion would be for them to figure out their reservation system. We and others often wait 30-60 minutes after our reserved time to be seated. The staff is extremely polite and understanding, but are forced to tell diners to wait at the bar, where is seldom room or wait outside. That said the wait staff is wonderful and the food is very good.
