When we first opened our doors at 1983, the Sawatdee mission was simple: to take our community on an adventure full of Thai flavors and good times. We hadn’t been to Sawatdee for a few years. The appetizers were quite a disappointment. The main meals redeemed just OK. Unfortunately, I don’t think we will be back.

Good value, attentive service. Perfect for someone in my party who wasn't a huge fan of "spicy" food but adventurous enough for someone else who is a bit of Asian food aficionado.

Disappointed in food all around, not having been at restaurant for a couple of years, due to travel, hadn’t realized how the food and services changed. Had a Fisherman’s dish that didn’t have a quality preparation or properly prepared sauce. The wontons were too large and overall fried. The sweet and sour sauce just wasn’t adequately thick and creamy nor sweet! Will pass on future visits. Also didn’t like robotic food delivery means!!!

The sushi was AMAZING!!! Our server must have been fairly new because there were some glitches. I asked for a reciept and never got one. Also what is the deal with having to use a handheld electronic device to pay and tip? Note: give us older ladies a paper reciept to sign and the tip WILL be bigger. Promise! We all felt pressured to hurry up and pay... aside from that the food is incredibile!

Two couples went to catch up and enjoy a great meal but from the moment we sat down our experience took a turn for the worst. We had extremely poor service having to repeatedly get up to find our waitress. This was particularly surprising considering the restaurant wasn’t busy. The next issue was really disappointing food. From appetizers, sushi to entrees all were mediocre at best. Instead of enjoying a meal with friends we literally were all shocked and very disappointed!!!

As always great food. The dish(Pad Thai) was lacking on the noodle side. We went in at 1pm on a nice summer day. Wasn’t busy at all. We sat outside and it was surprisingly quite peaceful. Our server Jonah did a great job and was very attentive.

Went for lunch at 12:00 with a reservation and only 2 other tables were sat so it wasn’t busy at all. Server was new but we ordered sushi and after 30 minutes passed she came back to say it wasn’t available until 4PM then brought the others entrees as we sat and waiters for ours. 12 year old ordered chicken and lemongrass and that came out extremely spicy, server did not ask about heat when he ordered so it should have been mild. Server came back after I ordered the duck (20 minutes later) to say it takes a long time to prepare. Asked for a manager and no one ever came over but another server; after an exhausting 2 hour lunch we finally got out of there. Never going back, service was bad, food was bad and not to mention she never came back to offer more water or see if anyone wanted another glass of wine.

Food was good, but not so good it was worth the 2 hour wait and poor to mediocre service. The restaurant was not busy and there were many workers so it not sure why everything took so long. We even waited 45 minutes just to get our drinks from the bar

There must be something going on with the kitchen staff because the food was not nearly as good as it usually is. The hot and sour soup broth was basically vinegar and the restaurant was out of Sriracha??The service was not good either and as for the robot server👎. Won't be back for a while 😞.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant! Always so satisfied, and will be a life long customer. We always get the Pad Thai, Pattaya Platter, Cashew Chicken stir fry, fresh spring rolls, and it is all to die for!!!

The food was not as good as I had previously experienced years ago in the Sawatdee downtown Minneapolis. My vegetarian fried rice consisted of two raw, unripe hunks of tomato and two slices of cucumber. That's it. Spring Roll was just average at best.Our food was delivered by Robot. That was a novelty. I think they need to step it up a notch food wise.

We hadn’t dined in since before Covid, but we did do a lot of takeout. It was even more delicious enjoying the food there. Is the ambiance fancy? No. But the food is fresh and there is a huge menu. We had Supenn’s spring rolls which were awesome. I had delight stir fry with mock duck, and my husband had the shrimp and scallops in garlic sauce. Both arrived hot, at the spice level we wanted and a generous portion. And, it was served by a robot!

We were left unattended for 15 minutes and we left. Understaffed and service is apparently not important. Disappointed as this used to be one of our favorites.

Our server was pushy but then she forgot about us. She came to our table 30 seconds after we sat down when he told her that he needed an extra min, she huffed & said oh i'll get your order when I come back with her wine. She came back with the wine and asked, well have you made a decision? He told her some beer-- a tall. She came back with a short and mentioned that the tall glasses were all dirty and you will get this and a partial. She had started to walk away when we waved her back and told her that we wanted to order an app. when she came back with the app, we told her that we wanted to order. I ordered the pad thai and she asked how spicy do you want it-- I said, I want nothing with spicy, I get sick. She said yeah, yeah I get it. My Husband asked if the duck curry had a lot of tomatoes in it, she said no, not a lot. That dish doesn't have any in it. We then waited 30 minutes for our food; I would understand if the restaurant was busy.... but it was not. I also had a clear shot of the bar and I noticed her behind the bar messing with liquor bottles. When we actually received our food it was warm to the touch (on the top) but when you stirred the dish it was hot underneath (probably sitting under a heat lamp). Remember when I mentioned that I couldn't have spice... well there was something spicy in the dish and I couldn't eat it. She never came back to ask, how is the food or can I get you a replacement on those drinks. She was HORRIBLE!! She dropped off the bill, when my husband was still eating and said no rush. She then came back 5 minutes later and said Can I get anything off the table LIKE THE BILL! and when I told her no, we are not DONE, she walked away in a puff again. I waved the host over to speak with a manager, she refused to get one and all she wanted to do is comp our meal. Not sure we will be back.

Still not one of my favorites for Thai food. Decided to give them a try after many years avoiding them based on previous poor experiences with service. This visit didn't do much to change my mind. No service problems, but the food is just ok and the space is pretty boring. We started with Egg Rolls (meh) and the Sarong Sawatdee Special which is ground chicken wrapped in noodles and deep fried. It used to be a tightly wrapped ball, but this time was more spread out. The result is that it all fell apart when you tried to cut into it so that we ended up with a huge pile of fried noodles on the plate when we were done. My wife had the Shrimp & Scallops in Gralic Sauce which she always gets and continues to like. There's a good amount of seafood in the dish. I had the Shrimp Pad Thai and found it to be overly sweet and drowning in sauce. I'm not going to rush back.

I reserved a table for 6 but apparently there was no record of it although we were able to be seated right away. The bathrooms were disgusting, the floor around our table was covered in old food, the waitress didn't come back for about 20 minutes to take our order, the checks were split incorrectly and she specifically said "I split them to the best of my memory ability" so we had to redo them and wait yet again. The worst green curry I've ever had. They just dumped a bunch of crushed red pepper into some broth. Really underwhelming experience.

Had a reservation. Showed up on time, was seated right away but all we got was some water. No one waited on us after sitting for 35 minutes so we left. Don’t think we will be back.

They’re short staffed so took the server a while to check on us. Wanted to nickel and dime for anything we asked for, down to some milk or cream to cut the spice level. Will probably just do takeout next time if at all.

Food was good. We understand the venue was short on staff and we were patient. We were able to visit and talk in a comfortable and quiet (not noisy) environment. Everyone enjoyed the meal and experience. We will be back.

While we waited over an hour for our food (two large parties before our order went in), the wait was with it. Food is excellent! I had the vegetable stir fry with chicken and I thought I would be underwhelmed, but it was very flavorful and the veggies were fresh! Service was great too!

The food is always consistent and always great at Sawatdee. The Service was prompt, attentive, and kind. The music was quiet enough to have a discussion and provided some peaceful ambience. Thank you for a lovely meeting.

This was our first time visiting the restaurant in Maple Grove. Very impressed. The food was exceptional and so fresh and crisp tasting.

It was hot in the restaurant, we had to ask for the air conditioner to be turned on. The waitress said it was because it was crowded. We were the only people in our section, and there were very few people inside. Most of the diners were outside. The service was extremely slow. We had to ask for napkins & a knife. Thankfully, the food was delicious. I would only recommend takeout here.
