Thank you for choosing Sansei Kapalua OpenTable, please note we are located on the island of Maui in Kapalua. If you do not see your desired dining time please call the host team direct. Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar in Kapalua was named One of the Best Sushi Bars in America by Bon Appetit. We are the most popular Contemporary Japanese restaurant on Maui. Sansei has a variety of scrumptious sushi and seafood items that are legendary. Sansei serves incredibly delectable dishes such as our famous miso butter fish, shrimp dynamite, steak, grilled pork chops, smoked duck and delicious noodles. Please come and bring the Ohana as we accommodate walk-in guests. Walk-in wait times vary due to flow of the restaurant they could be as little as 30 minutes or upward of 1.5 hours. Please be advised we have not opened sushi bar seating since closing due to Covid.
Early Bird Special every Sunday and Monday from 5:00pm-5:45pm, Everyone is on a walk-in basis for this Special offer.

Sadly, the butter fish was cold upon delivery. Additionally, I did not like the waitress parading our food around showing other customers what they could potentially order. Finally, the Fried clams were of rubber texture and cold. The sushi was good though. I just feel like San Sei is not as good as it used to be.

Wonderful experience, attentive service (Brad?) as we expect after many visits to Sansei over the years. We had a later reservation and they called 30 minutes before our time to let us know the table was ready for us when we could get there.

Sensei has always been a restaurant on your to do list when you visit Maui and that hasn’t changed. The food was fabulous.

Our service person, back from a 9 month break, was funny, knowledgeable, and very efficient The fish was very fresh:hamachi, uni, toro-all amazing My husband loves his lobster and shrimp mashed potatoes Definitely make a reservation, though, the restaurant fills up quickly

Excellent service, asked the waiter to choose food for our table of four, one with an allergy, the food presented surpassed our expectations. Shame that it’s our last night in Maui or we’d return
