We ate for a second time at SAJ for dinner in New Orleans for a second time yesterday. The service was a bit slow, but the flood was fresh, plentiful, and very tasty. The restaurant serves no alcoholic beverages, perhaps for religious reasons. We sat by a window, and enjoyed the street life moving by during our meal. We took quite a bit of food home due to the large portions, and will enjoy them another time or two at home. I do recommend this restaurant highly for the service, the tastiness of the food, and the large portions.

The food was A+++! 10s across the board! It takes a lot to impress me food-wise. My eyes were rolling into the back of my head over the baked feta and saj bread.

A hidden gem on Magazine. The service was over the top and all the dishes we ordered was delicious. Great atmosphere for intimate conversations with friends. We will definitely be back.

I live in the neighborhood, and Saj continues to exceed my expectations in every way. The quality of the food is top-notch. The entrees from the excellently prepared fish to chicken are excellently prepared. The salads are fresh and delicious and enough to share with a group. But you could come just for the Saj bread, the large, paper thin flavorful flatbread is so good. Dip it in the their honey-glazed baked feta or goat cheese appetizer for even more flavor. Also the BYOB option makes the restaurant a great value. Just bring your favorite bottle of wine! Also the service was fantastic.

Made lunch reservations. The restaurant wasn’t packed on this day which made it perfect for a business meeting. The server was considerate and checked on us appropriately. The food was delicious. Well priced and had good portions. Highly recommend the baked feta app.

We had such a wonderful meal. You can tell a lot of thought and love went into each bite. Our server was incredible kind and helpful. Perfect place for a casual yet unique night out! Highly recommend!

We had the most delicious lunch. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful. We had the labna as an appetizer; the bread is to die for. I got the chicken shawarma which was excellent and my husband really liked the snapper. The meals came with a nice salad, rice and hummus which were very good. The snapper came with the most delicious vegetables. We are not vegetarians but there are very nice vegetarian options at this restaurant.

Wonderful flavorful dishes. Lamb chops fantastic. A bit pricey considering there were no sides w the meat. Personally I would have enjoyed just a few grilled vegetables or salad and a small rice w each of the dishes with a smaller portion of meat. Service was fantastic. The 2 servers smile, encourage questions, participate - kudos to all!

We were seated quickly. We had reservations but didn’t need them. The waitress was super nice and helpful with selecting a small plate. The food came out quickly, was hot fresh and great portion sizes for price. The lamb tasted amazing and I loved the rice as well as the fried feta cheese dish. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 on service was because our drinks weren’t refreshed and the waitress spent a lot of time in the back in her phone. Aside from that, everything was great.

As usual, the dinner was great. The staff is so nice and accommodating with the byob situation (they do not have a liquor license.) The atmosphere is really pleasant, the service is excellent, and the food is delicious. I have become a regular.

Our wait staff, Sam, was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. We very much appreciated her advice about the meals and her friendly affect. The food was excellent and had some amazing flavors! The proportions were large, so no one left hungry! What a wonderful find. We will come back again.😁

What happened to the steak tenderloin shishkabob? It was fabulous…but has disappeared! And where’s the Baba Ghanoush, and the grilled veggies??? They were fantastic… please bring them back!!!

Absolutely delicious. The variety of flavors was outstanding, and we loved the three small plates we had to start - the moussaka, the hummus, and the baked feta. All were unique and amazing in their own right. I would have thought that hummus is hummus, but this was incredibly smooth and perfectly spiced. We shared the lamb, which was also perfectly seasoned and incredibly tender. Service was friendly and attentive. We liked it so much we returned for salads to go for lunch on the way to the airport the next day.

Saj offers Middle Eastern dishes brought to the next level and some with a unique twist. The food is incredibly fresh and includes many family recipes! I loved everything about this place - the ambience, the fact that it is family-owned, and the kind and genuine service. Tends to get busy at night so I recommend a reservation and remember to bring your own booze.
