Way back in 1975, the Sail Loft lit the fire for Steve Silverstein, who went on to open nearly 40 restaurants. Located in the quintessential seaside village of Padanaram, it was the neighborhood place where you could get a good (strong) drink, chef prepared comfort food and relax in a convivial atmosphere with familiar faces. The Sail Loft was everyone’s favorite place; it was a hangout where some came for food and others for drink.

When the Sail Loft became available in 2021, Steve jumped on the opportunity to take the wheel. Steve and his wife Judy transformed the Sail Loft into an elevated neighborhood restaurant with a distinct updated boatyard feel. The spot is nautical with a chef-driven yet approachable menu, a deep selection of spirts and an intriguing wine list. As with all of Silverstein’s places, while the food, drink and design are always top-notch, it is the warm hospitality that keeps ‘em coming back.

The food was terrible. Actually inedible. The salmon had a tomato paste on top. My son ordered the french dip burger without onions. It came loaded with onions. He picked them off the best he could. He left half his burger. My husband had the short rib stroganoff. It had no flavor hardly any meat and was lukewarm at best. I would never recommend this restaurant and will never be back.

Great Padanarum location for lunch or dinner. Indoor and outdoor seating, variety of menu items, all prepared to perfection. Can't miss!

Consistently great food. Frequent menu changes keep the selections interesting, though I am often sad to see some of the many delicious options go.

Consistently good food, well prepared both from the regular and specials menu. Service is always pleasant and attentive. The strawberry shortcake is to die for.

Even though this place is billed as a seafood place, it’s has good selection for everyone and has great drinks.

Always enjoy a meal at SailLoft! Drinks are delicious and the food is always well prepared and interesting. The only drawback is that the restaurant tends to be a little loud and it can be tricky to have a conversation across the table. This restaurant is one of the places we go with visitors because it is so dependable!
