Great food, no question. Hostess's were super friendly and welcoming. My server... Wasn't able to answer my question regarding the special (NZ salmon, "is it jet fresh"). I did find it hilarious that he stated the beef was locally sourced, and then followed the statement with, "from lllinois". Sir, that's a different state, local would at least be inside lowa.... Would I go again? Absolutely

My 2nd visit to the West Des Moines location. I have eaten at maybe 15 Ruth’s Chris Steakhouses over the US and Mexico(including some this year on work travel). I had reservations at 3pm with my sig ot for Mother’s Day(5 stars for her btw). I know it’s later in the day for “brunch” and we joked it was more like “linner”. From the moment we walked in the vibe was almost cold and unwelcoming. Have never had this ever at a Ruth’s. The front desk staff(3 to 4 people) almost appeared to be in a zombie like state not caring. I had requested bar seating and were taken to dining room. We checked the bar and it may have been 1/2 full at 3pm on a Sunday. Our actual table was nice but we were hoping for bar. The host who sat us spinned a story and didn’t seem convinced even in that why bar request wasn’t honored. Our server was nice but seemed bored. I get it….it was oost Moms Day rush but the service was passive at best and disinterested at worst. Food was good(crab cakes and side of broccoli and creamed spinach). For nearly 200.00 for 2 of us(coupe drinks as well) I’m expecting at minimum a warm welcoming attitude. Sorry to say this will be my last visit to this one. I’ll go to the other Ruth’s Chris in places like Denver and Louisville where I’ve had no issues at outside of my meal.

The service was great and top notch. I have had great experiences with RC over many years including this one in WDM, IA but today was not even close to my past experiences. The lobster bisque was quite salty. My wife and I both ordered the Crab Benedict which supposedly contains 2 poached eggs but all the eggs, especially the yolks, came out with the consistency of hard boiled eggs. No exaggeration here. It really came as hard boiled eggs. Not satisfied with the food during this trip to RC. On a good note, service remained great and better than other RCs I have visited in other states.

Restaurant Manager was unfriendly and kind of a turn off on our special night. Once we were seated our waiter and food were great!

Sadly disappointed. This is one of the many Ruth Chris restaurants we have visited. The service was super slow (although our waitress was very sweet and tried to be accommodating). It took a long time for drinks and over an hour to get our food. Out of 7 steaks 4 were done wrong! Even the famous seasoning seemed off . We spent well over $1000 and sadly I would say thumbs down.

I have to say our server, Khristal, was absolutely amazing!!! She catered to me and my fiancée as if we were the only people that she had to work with. The suggestions of food she gave were on point!! The fact that my food stayed hot the entire time was extremely wonderful!!! I came to Des Moines from Omaha for a show but next time, I’m coming just to try something else and pray I get the same server!!’ Khristal, sorry if spelled wrong, but honey, don’t change!! You’re a rockstar!!!

Our server was Johnny one of the best I've ever had! He was checking on us all the time and recommending foods, but we told them no need because we love what we love!
