Our server Kevin was great and made our experience wonderful. Look forward to our next visit. Johnny who explained the wine locker was also very helpful and informative.

If you want to celebrate a special occasion and/or want to be treated better than at Texas Roadhouse, go elsewhere. I made a reservation weeks in advance to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The reservation was for 5:45pm on a Wednesday evening...so shouldn't have been overly busy. In the reservation, I specifically asked for a quiet / romantic location since this was a very special anniversary. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation, checked in and then proceeded to wait about 15 minutes. In that time we watched other couples and groups arrive who stated they had reservations (some 45 minutes in the future) who were all seated before us...no big deal but odd considering what happened next. When our name was called we were directed to go upstairs and discovered that we were being seated in the bar. The upstairs bar area is the very opposite of quite and romantic and is apparently where they send patrons who do not meet the dress code (we were dressed up). At this point I was incredibly upset but said nothing as I didn't want to ruin the evening and embarrass my wife...so I kept it to myself. Overall the food was fine...except my wife's baked potato was swimming in so much butter that she had to pour melted butter onto her bread plate as the butter was beginning to overflow and spill off of the baked potato plate. Both of our steaks were undercooked but not bad enough to send back. The server was polite and professional but the service was incredibly slow. We didn't get any appetizers and only had one drink each and it still took over 2 hours to order, get drinks, get food, and then pay. Considering the price and reputation of Ruth's Chris, the overall experience was very disappointing!

We went to Ruth’s Chris in West Des Moines for the first time, and let them know it was our anniversary on our reservation and they put red rose petals on the table. It was a very nice touch. The food was delicious, and I tried the Irish Wristwatch cocktail. very refreshing. The decor is stylish and unique. Highly recommend.

We celebrated our anniversary at Ruth’s Chris in West Des Moines, IA. We sat at a circular booth in the 1st floor bar which was cozy and comfortable, I loved the high seat backs. The service was efficient, professional and kind. The meal was spectacular, the steaks were cooked perfectly. We look forward to dining there again.

The quality of the food was what I was really looking forward to. Unfortunately, the steak was a bit overdone. And both the creamed spinach and scalloped potatoes were lacking in flavor. Will give Ruth's Chris another try at some point. But, if they fall short of what I consider high quality food for a "fine dining" restaurant it will likely be the last time.
