Our waiter Garrett was wonderful! He was very tentative and on point. The lobster bisque was a little salty for my taste, but that is no reason not to give a 5. The Bread Pudding was out standing, as was the steak, lobster, creamed spinach, garlic mashed potato’s, bread and the sizzling crab cakes. What a great experience! We have been wanting to go for years but it was so far south and now the new location on University is convenient and it was my husband’s birthday, and they made it even more special with their touches.

The overall experience was excellent as usual. The only problem was on arrival. Notwithstanding our reservation, we were not allowed to be seated until a certain waiter reported for work. As soon as he came through the door, we were seated right away. There's no real waiting area in this restaurant. We were uncomfortable, and it was obvious the hostess was uncomfortable.

As Ruth’s Chris longtime fans we were disappointed. This was our third visit to the LWR location in the past 3 months and it was disappointing. Despite a reservation, when we checked in we were told it would be a few minutes, which was perfectly acceptable, however the few minutes were for the young hostess to finish wiping down menu’s while the other 2 hostesses watched. (It was pretty empty in the restaurant). We don’t mind waiting especially if it’s busy, it wasn’t busy. Our server was fine, but overwhelmed w the number of tables he was juggling and didn’t visit to see if we needed anything until we were more than half way through the meal. Also didn’t share any specials, or the regular spiel about 28 day aging. As for the quality of the ribeye, not at all what we have enjoyed over the years of sizzling steaks at Ruth’s Chris. The ribeye was a smaller cut that looked like it had been uniformly trimmed and parts were tough, the darker more flavorful marbled meat was missing, and the taste was lacking. This was the most disappointing. The lobster bisque, don’t bother, it did have lobster, but the soup was lacking in taste. Again, not at all what we have come to expect from Ruth’s Chris. Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll visit the Lakewood Ranch restaurant again. Capital Grille is only a few miles away, or we’ll make the drive to Sarasota where we’ve always had great experiences. I really don’t like to write reviews like this, but want the restaurant to get the feedback and change as we already have neighbors speaking I’ll of this location, and now we are reluctant to defend as we have in the past. Very nice place to celebrate something special. The service staff was amazing, best service we've had in years.

When comparing to Flemmings or capital Grille, I would not consider Ruth Chris equal to either From the greeting to the leaving, it just comes up short in terms of what you’d like atmospherically The food was excellent and price compatible with Flemings and capital Grille

We love going to Ruth Chris. The sweet potatoes with pecan crust are the most amazing side you can get anywhere. The steaks are always amazing and cooked to perfection, every time we order it’s exactly as we ask for it to be. The sea bass is the best sea bass anywhere in town, it’s done to perfection. To top it all off our waiter, Christian is the top of the line and we ask for him every time we go. He completes the perfect place to go to eat. Thank you Christian and Thank you Ruth Chris for coming to Lakewood Ranch Florida.
