We came here for our anniversary and it was a perfect night ! Service was amazing and thoughtful and food was delicious. We got the surf and turf and steak was delicious and tail was a good size. Restaurant is really pretty with beautiful views.

Food, views, and service were wonderful. The cornbread was a nice a surprise. We never thought of combining a honey topping, jalapeno cornbread, and paprika dusting but it was delicious. Everything was excellent.

Came in for brunch on Saturday. Not too busy. Our waitress was incredibly attentive. Food was great. Great selection of flavors for Mimosas. View of the water from our table was gorgeous. Watch some fish jumping, people jet skiing, and a couple kayaking.

The food needs improvement. Steak was overcooked, flounder la k of flavor, and the risotto was to porridgey. The octopus needs a bit more time on the grill and so do the accompanying potatoes too hard also the rice that goes with the red snapper was too sweet. The snapper was great very flavorful. The cappuccino and the drinks were excellent. Please get that kitchen improved and you will have something special.

Brussels sprouts appetizer was delicious and plentiful for sharing. I had the crispy snapper after seeing it on other tables. Fantastic. Some might not like the presentation that included the whole fish (filets removed and cooked separately) but it didn’t bother me. Delicious. Salad had a bit too much dressing. My sister in law had the stuffed grouper and loved it. My husband had the lobster shrimp risotto. That was a huge surprise, an entire lobster tail and several whole shrimp on top of the risotto. All portions were very large and delicious. We will be back.

When we arrived we, a party of 5, were seated on top of a crowded bar so we had to physically move the table a few feet. The appetizer was very good as was the dessert. The entrees were unfortunately not very good. Two of us had the snapper which was overcooked. The rest of us had the grouper with crab of top. The grouper itself was a very small portion and the crab had a strong fishy smell and taste that overwhelmed the dish. The venue itself was very loud. The restaurant is very overpriced. The server was very good.

We had a delicious dinner …. Surf & turf. The cornbread with honey is also delicious!! It was my husbands birthday and they brought him a piece of cheesecake that was amazing! And our waitress was the best!! Highly recommend!!

The restaurant is very well decorated, the cocktails were great. The tables are a bit close together so be prepared to learn a lot about your neighbors and as the room fills up it gets very loud. The menu is 50/50, some things are exceptional, and some feel like they are forgotten about. The pink brick appetizer was amazing, the chicken entree was so-so.

Like so many restaurants, the Rusty Pelican had very few options for me. I can't eat spicy things, and I prefer low-carb dishes. The crab cake was okay for not in Maryland. The Miso-marinated Chilean Sea Bass was very tasty, and I'm glad that I asked for the sweet chili sauce on the side rather than on the fish. The black Thai rice was delicious, and I enjoyed half the serving to keep the carb count lower. The dessert was okay, and I ate only half. The table by the window looking out to Tampa Bay was excellent for my visitor; service was good, though, at times, it interrupted our conversation. Valet parking is mandatory, but not expensive.

A good experience ad usual. Had the chicken and waffles. It wasn't the best this time, might sat out in the kitchen too long. Otherwise, it's a good experience.

The food was very disappointing. My wife got the smash burger which should have been named the grease burger. Apparently the chef doesn’t know what a smash burger should be. This burger was thick and extremely rare. It didn’t take long for the bun to be soggy with grease. That being said, the flavor was good. I ordered the lobster Benedict. The lobster was perfect. Sweet and succulent. Unfortunately that’s the only good thing I can say about the dish. The jalapeño corn muffins were dry and had no jalapeño taste. The poached eggs were far from being that. On a good note…the spicy Bloody Mary was fantastic. We will not be back. For the amount of money we spent on brunch we were extremely disappointed

We made our reservation online through OpenTable. We requested a table for six by the window, and were seated instead in the corner by the wall. The food came and the temperature of the food was cool to barely warm. The prices of the menu items were high, compared with the size and quality of the food. We ordered an appetizer, but our server forgot to put it in, and then he actually asked us if we wanted to order an appetizer. We have eaten here before, but this time we were disappointed in the whole experience.

We stayed at the Westin Tampa Bay. The Rusty Pelican had good reviews so I booked a table for the satruday night. What a great hidden gem of a restaurant. We had glass of prossecco to start, along with the Scallops and Crab cake appetizers, absolutely delicious ! I had the Swordfish cooked medium and my wife had the crab stuffed grouper. Both were fantastic and went well with a nice californian chardonnay. A great night and well worth a visit ! I took one star off the atmosphere, because of a loud birthday group who were just finishing when we had our appies :)

the good: this place is absolutely stunning, lots of old Florida charm, huge staff so the customer service is good, amazing views from anywhere you sit, we went on a Saturday night, and there was valet parking which was convenient. They had some cool stuff, like cocktails that came under domes with smoke and flowers and a bread board that was really cool and pretty delicious. They were also extremely accommodating with food allergies. the not so good: the food was not great ! you could tell that the quality of their ingredients was very high. Everything we had was of the highest quality, but whoever was cooking it just did not have it. The orzo was both mushy and crunchy, the rice was undercooked, the crispy fish was not crispy, the calamari wouldn’t hold its breading and looked really unappetizing, the steak tasted good, but had some gristle and was gray when it came out and for $54 for just a 14 ounce steak that is disappointing. three people with only my husband having three beers and my son and I drinking water and no desserts it was $300. I am totally fine spending $300 on dinner if it’s amazing…unfortunately no matter how amazing this restaurant location, service and ambience is the food is just not cooked properly. I really hope that management will take the wonderful ingredients that they have and train their kitchen staff how to treat them properly.

Such a disappointment, especially since the one in Miami is so much better. The onion soup was ridiculously salty, the wedge salad had 3 slivers of bacon, a few crumbles of blue cheese and some strange dressing. My husband had some type of beef dish that came cold, and when we asked for it to be warmed up, they told us they were making him a new one. When the new one came, it had about four pieces of beef and 28 potatoes… Not only will I not be recommending this place I’ll be telling folks to stay away.

We were placed by the window in the corner, which was a nice view, but clearly an event was going next door and there was a lot of banging and loud music which ruined the ambiance. The table was sticky, which sometimes I expect from places serving brunch, but I didn’t expect it from what was considered a fairly nice establishment. It took quite awhile to be greeted and by the time the server came, we were ready to order everything but after he asked for our drinks he immediately left, not giving us time to put in our food order. The drinks presentation was impressive, but that was the only good thing about out it. We then ordered the seafood tower and it was some of the worst seafood we’ve ever had. We forced ourselves to finish it (other than the east coast oysters because those were far from palatable) because what a waste of $100 otherwise. We were still starving, but opted to leave because we couldn’t imagine anything tasting better and the service was slow, so what was the point in staying. It was the most expensive meal we had during our vacation and the worst meal we’ve ever had.

Grace was our server and she was amazing! We went for brunch the food was incredible and the view was just spectacular!! We love the Rusty pelican. They never disappoint We will definitely be back soon!

Went for wife’s birthday. Ambiance was great and service was excellent. We ordered steaks - one ribeye which was good and a filet that was way undercooked (ordered it well-done). Without any issue, our server returned it to the kitchen, but it came back just a little more done but still not right. The supervisor checked on us and immediately comped the steak and provided a free dessert which was absolutely amazing. So - they made it right.

From the hostess to waitstaff it was a 5 star experience. Everyone so nice and friendly. Food was amazing!!

Last minute decision to eat here instead of the airport. Great choice. Less than 10 minutes from the airport. Food was delicious. Drinks as well. Seated by the window and water. No waiting. A great end to our last day in Florida.

Best experience ever, the environment was perfect as well as the scenery. Food came out quicker than any other restaurant I’ve been too and flavor profile was off the chart. I’d recommend it to anyone who love seafood.

The service and ambience were perfect. The food was not worth it. It use to be delicious the previous visits. They must have gone down hill during Covid. I was surprised. Had lobster and it was good. Shrimp tasted like refrigerator. Coconut shrimp taste too sweet and mushy. Chose not to complain. Did not get my mash potatoes. Took shrimp cocktail off the bill.

One of the best dining experiences we have had in Tampa! The view is incredible, the food is delicious, and the service was so great! Sierra was exceptional and made us feel welcome, we will definitely be back and ask for her. We recommend the crab cake, the scallops, and the steak progressive. We were not rushed through dinner and really enjoyed our evening. We were celebrating my dad’s birthday as well and they made him feel special as well. Cannot wait to come back!

Food was mediocre. Lobster Benedict was flavorless., rubbery served room temp. Steak Benedict flavorful but asked for medium well came medium rare without advertised blistered tomatoes. Fingerling smashed potatoes were not smashed and on the cold side. My grilled Chicken Sandwich was underwhelming lettuce and tomato almost none existent and the applewood bacon was omitted. Ambiance. Again nonexistent. We were put in a small enclosed “banquet” room with 6 banquet tables. Dirty and stained stacking chairs. Napkins haphazardly placed, scratched stemware lacking any attention to detail. Honestly, this experience was horrible. It was my daughter’s 46th birthday and I invited my family to what I thought would be a wonderful brunch experience, (Rusty Pelican pre Covid experience). Instead I was thoroughly embarrassed that I had taken them there. I usually don’t review restaurants but this experience was truly awful. If you are like me thinking of days past when this was a go to place for celebrations, look elsewhere. This will surely disappoint!

I chose this place to propose to my wife again, and everything was perfect. From the food, to the atmosphere, to our sweet waitress who catered to every one of our needs. I loved this place so much, I believe it may be my new favorite restaurant. I will definitely be back.

The staff went above and beyond for us, and I’m very appreciative of that! We went when two weddings were scheduled so it was a little loud, but not unbearable. I wish I could remember our waitress name, she was outstanding as well. Steak was overcooked, and when your paying those prices you wouldn’t expect that, BUT out waitress saw it and got it fixed immediately. We will be back.
