Chef Ali Mesghali’s love of cooking began while growing up in Esfahan, Iran and Los Angeles, California. This interest grew to become a passion and a career after Ali moved to Atlanta, Georgia. In the kitchen, as well as in the dining room, Ali is known for his pursuit of perfection, his intensity and a love for what he does. This unending aspiration for perfection has been instrumental in establishing the standard for Persian cuisine in Atlanta. The service is top notch. This was my second time in a week there. Food was to die for. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The I wanted to try the Chilean sea bass ( really the reason I went back) it was exquisite!!!

Food was outstanding and the space was very nice. Noise level was intolerable. Don’t come here to have a conversation, unless you bring a megaphone.

I recommend ordering the chicken barg and substituting the shirin rice. Amazing food, but our waitress Nadia was the best part!

I have eaten at other Persian restaurants before, this was one of the best. The waiter and staff were excellent. The food quality and originality were top notch!!

There are several reasons why my wife and I like to go to Rumi’s Kitchen for special occasions, and it’s because it’s special on several levels. Lovely décor, a solid cocktail menu, Persian cuisine, interesting apps/dishes, super friendly service. Went last night to celebrate my wife’s birthday and Jordan took great care of us. Mind you, the restaurant was packed and we always felt like someone was there to make sure everything was in order. We were both between dishes and were guided to two very different and very tasty options. We had the short smoked salmon hummus and falafel as starters and everything was on point. The combination of flavors in the hummus was very unique and rich while the falafel are some of the best we’ve ever had. NOT shy in the flavor department. For cocktails, I opened with the SS. Poet, and my wife had the Shazdeh Garden. Both very interesting with the Shazdeh being very smooth and more on the citric side while the SS. Poet was peppery and good enough for my wife to have as her second cocktail. Meanwhile, I switched to the Skeleton Tree (hands down one of my favorite cocktails – VERY booze forward prohibition style). For our entrees, my wife had the Soltani Kabob and I had the Duck Fesenjoon, because we wanted to try different dishes from what we’ve had before. The tie break came courtesy of Jordan, who was always there to answer questions, keep our table in order, and overall just adding so much to our experience. For dessert, we had the Persian Ice Cream Sandwich, and that serves three easy (vanilla based ice cream with saffron, rose water & pistachios, sandwiched between two crisp vanilla wafers). It was a lovely palate cleanser to finish off our meal and celebrate my wife in style. Definitely enjoyed and it was packed for good reason. So, if you like your dining experience more quiet, look to have dinner off hours or on days with lesser peaks. But if you don’t mind the crowd, no worries, they’ll have you covered.

First experience dining at Rumi’s and the encounter was great. Decided to expand the palate and we were not disappointed. The chicken kabobs, sea bass, lamb rack were ALL seasoned to perfection and not salty. We’re fans and will dine here again and will bring additional guests. Great Experience!!!

This is my favorite restaurant. Full stop. We went for a graduation celebration and family was blown away by the flavors. I can’t say enough about how amazing the food is. Go there.

This is some of the best food my fiance and I have ever had. Khalid, our waiter, was incredibly kind and knowledgeable about the menu. I got the lamb skewers and my fiance got the lemon chicken skewers. They were both phenomenal!!

We went to this Rumi's a few months ago and it was a so-so experience. This past weekend we went again, and I am glad to say it was back to the Rumi's we have always loved! The food was delicious and our server could not have been more attentive. We tried the falafel for the first time, it was so fresh and wonderful. My only complaint about Rumi's is the noise level. Concrete floods reverberate sound. When the place is busy and everyone is talking, hearing boom, boom, boom as the background music can be noise overload. People were literally talking louder than normal, almost yelling, to be heard by someone across the table. Maybe some Persian rugs and better music choices? The restaurant has a natural energetic vibe.

The front room was soooo loud. More sound dampening is needed. We couldn’t even hear each other. Love the food, the ambiance, and the service- always a treat to go to Rumi’s.

Took my wife here for her birthday and it was one of the best meals and service we have had! Our waitress was exceptional and made excellent recommendations. The food was superb. Rumi’s is now at the top of our goto restaurants.

Saturday night was my second visit to Rumi's. I loved it the first time so much that I had to bring guests with us this time. Aware that we wanted to be able to have comfortable conversation during our meal, I requested a quiet place for our table. The outdoor patio was the answer, and most of the time it was completely pleasant. Unfortunately 14th Street traffic included emergency sirens and amplified engine roar on occasion, but they were more like distractions that the rule. The food was really delicious, and our server did an excellent job describing the dishes and offering suggestions. She did her very best to accommodate our every need with grace and warmth, but I think the busy-ness of Saturday night created some strains in the kitchen. Our drinks were very slow to come out and the food wasn't served as had been described. Minor discrepancies with no fault to our server. Besides the food, what I really appreciated was the slow pace we were allowed for enjoying our dinner and time together. One of our party was a lifelong friend whose husband recently passed away. I deeply appreciated our having time to talk, laugh, and reminisce in a lovely, hospitable setting. Can't wait to bring the next group of friends to Rumi's.

The food was fresh - very inviting spices and fresh herbs l! Yummmm! Got the marinated olives which were tangy and savory! Also farroush salad, labne grilled tomato which was creamy decadence and the lamb neck which was earthy & divine! A memorable night out in a gorgeous space w great service
