Chef Ali Mesghali’s love of cooking began while growing up in Esfahan, Iran and Los Angeles, California. This interest grew to become a passion and a career after Ali moved to Atlanta, Georgia. In the kitchen, as well as in the dining room, Ali is known for his pursuit of perfection, his intensity and a love for what he does. Rumi's Kitchen Colony Square was wonderful with fresh foods and great service. We went there to celebrate my mom's birthday. The portions sizes for the entrees were quite generous. 3 of us had the chicken barb and one had the lamb kababs. We were all pleased with our foods. I got the falafel for an appetizer but will probably go with the mushroom hummus next time. We also had the grilled veggies that were tasty. Our server, Jordan, was wonderful. Very friendly face and he checked on us often and always with a smile. My mom was given a complimentary birthday dessert that was wonderful!! (she shared it with us). Not sure of the name but it was like a caramel pie with lots of nuts served warm with vanilla ice cream.

Rumi’s is always delicious and a hit with everyone in attendance. Loved the Merguez Hummus and the Scallops. The lamb neck was also a particular favorite.

Had a reservation for 7:45pm. Wasn’t seated til 8:10. Would think that wasn’t ok, but Rumi’s team rebounded. Our son graduated with his class from Emory. It’s a Monday, many restaurants in the area were closed so Rumi’s was the benefactor. One of the floor managers was over to our table promptly after seating. A few appetizers were sent to our table via the house to enjoy and we did. Our server was great throughout the experience. Everything was spot on. Will definitely come back on out next visit.

Wonderful food. Great service. Very pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately even with a reservation, had to wait 35 minutes for a table. Watched numerous larger/ smaller parties sat after our on-time arrival. Additionally there was no place to stand and wait. Self parking was $30 due to the 2 hour stay.

We go to Colony Square Rumi's about every 3-4 weeks. As usual the service, food and ambience is superior. It was a first time for two guests we invited, who had both dined at the Sandy Springs location. They had a similar reaction to ours in that while the food is as good at both locations - the managing of seating (no wait even though every table is full) and the service is superior to the other locations. We appreciate the entire staff's dedication to excellence that we experience each time.

Very tasty food. Nice large portions. All three of us had the chicken barge which was very flavorful chicken and tender. One of us got the Lamb hummus which they said was very good.

We came after my niece’s college graduation to have a small, ladies’ brunch. The food was amazing from the sabzi and falafel starter to the entrees and cocktails. Every dish was served at the proper temperature and seasoned to perfection. The cocktails were bright and freshly garnished with flowers and fruit. Delicious! For a Saturday afternoon, the noise level was higher than expected, but that’s difficult to criticize, as the guests control that aspect. Service was good, but not amazing. Very attentive initially, then slow to bring out our second round (which we requested to be served with our mains). Friendly nonetheless! This wasn’t my first time, and it won’t be my last. It’s a great place for a date, a business dinner, or a family brunch. Thank you!!

This was my third time dining at and introducing a loved one to Rumi’s Kitchen. The ambiance and table service was amazing! I tried different dishes such as the corn ribs — so good — and cocktails this time along with the my favorite, the green tahini hummus. I look forward to returning again.

The service is top notch. This was my second time in a week there. Food was to die for. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The I wanted to try the Chilean sea bass ( really the reason I went back) it was exquisite!!!

I recommend ordering the chicken barg and substituting the shirin rice. Amazing food, but our waitress Nadia was the best part!

There are several reasons why my wife and I like to go to Rumi’s Kitchen for special occasions, and it’s because it’s special on several levels. Lovely décor, a solid cocktail menu, Persian cuisine, interesting apps/dishes, super friendly service. Went last night to celebrate my wife’s birthday and Jordan took great care of us. Mind you, the restaurant was packed and we always felt like someone was there to make sure everything was in order. We were both between dishes and were guided to two very different and very tasty options. We had the short smoked salmon hummus and falafel as starters and everything was on point. The combination of flavors in the hummus was very unique and rich while the falafel are some of the best we’ve ever had. NOT shy in the flavor department. For cocktails, I opened with the SS. Poet, and my wife had the Shazdeh Garden. Both very interesting with the Shazdeh being very smooth and more on the citric side while the SS. Poet was peppery and good enough for my wife to have as her second cocktail. Meanwhile, I switched to the Skeleton Tree (hands down one of my favorite cocktails – VERY booze forward prohibition style). For our entrees, my wife had the Soltani Kabob and I had the Duck Fesenjoon, because we wanted to try different dishes from what we’ve had before. The tie break came courtesy of Jordan, who was always there to answer questions, keep our table in order, and overall just adding so much to our experience. For dessert, we had the Persian Ice Cream Sandwich, and that serves three easy (vanilla based ice cream with saffron, rose water & pistachios, sandwiched between two crisp vanilla wafers). It was a lovely palate cleanser to finish off our meal and celebrate my wife in style. Definitely enjoyed and it was packed for good reason. So, if you like your dining experience more quiet, look to have dinner off hours or on days with lesser peaks. But if you don’t mind the crowd, no worries, they’ll have you covered.

First experience dining at Rumi’s and the encounter was great. Decided to expand the palate and we were not disappointed. The chicken kabobs, sea bass, lamb rack were ALL seasoned to perfection and not salty. We’re fans and will dine here again and will bring additional guests. Great Experience!!!

This is my favorite restaurant. Full stop. We went for a graduation celebration and family was blown away by the flavors. I can’t say enough about how amazing the food is. Go there.
