Chef Frank Anctil and General Manager Rosalia Bruno are fantastic co-owners of Rovino. The food, ambiance, and service is top notch. We enjoy dining there with friends and family. Highly recommended for a night out in Little Italy!

My mom and I had such a wonderful experience dining in to celebrate her birthday. The foccacia, Burrata y prosciutto, tortellini & ravioli pastas all tasted fresh & mouthwateringly delicious! Our drinks & the cheesecake were also amazing! Thank you for such a lovely evening!

The food was great!!! I loved the ambience along with the vibe of the restaurant and the staff was very nice and attentive, my girlfriend and I are definitely coming back here sooner than later!!!

The gluten free flatbread was very good, but the gluten free pasta was just okay- it was extremely overcooked. I had ordered the flat bread with gluten free crust and they prepared a normal crust, luckily I asked to confirm it was gluten free when they brought it to the table and they said it wasn’t and fixed it for us. If you have an allergy I would just recommend you double check before you eat the food they bring out.

This may have been the best meal we have had in all of San Diego's Little Italy. There were four of us, and without hesitation we all were blown away. Amazing meal. Fantastic owners and staff. We will be back, and back, and back, again! Thank you, Rose! You created something special.

Great food and great experience. There was live music and a full bar for some pre-dinner cocktails. The food was delicious, never been to Italy but felt authentic. No complaints here. Sat outside but the heaters kept us warm all night.

On a cold evening it eoukd help if they could kerp the restaurant warmer. We were very cold because all doors and windows are wide open on a 40 degree night. The serviceces was slow. The food on the other hand was good.

Nothing about it authentic, very slow service. Salad was bland forgot my walnuts. Lasagna was salty not authentic italian

Amazing food and service. The prosciutto and burrata app was heavenly. The grilled meats are fantastic. Only downside is that the interior is super loud. So if you are on a date and t trying to converse it is difficult. Fun vibe though!

Folks! Check your bill before you leave this place to make sure you’re not double/triple charged or charged for something you’ve never ordered. Apparently this happened to me.

Rovino is my go to spot go Italian food in San Deigo’s Little Italy. I always make a point to bring visiting family and friends to Rovino. The food is delicious. The service is friendly and attentive. I always start with arincini - wonderful. The lasagna is my go to menu item but I have explored other menu options with great satisfaction. The cocktails are crafted with attention to creating a wonderland complex flavor profile. I highly recommend Rovino!

This place is a neighborhood go-to for great Italian food. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. For convenience, wish the bathroom was inside the restaurant and not halfway down the block.

Excellent food! This place has always been good but now with new leadership, they have stepped it up a notch. Started with the Rovino Bruschetta, unique and excellent. Caprese flat bread, delicious. Shrimp Scampi, bolognese, sugo, all excellent. The pastas were simple and delicious, just what you want. Our server, Marco, was very attentive and personable.

We had an AMAZING dinner at Rovino Wednesday 12/13 evening. The weather was lovely so we sat outside. The 3 of us shared a dinner salad and focaccia and we still didn't eat it all. Very generous portions and fresh and delicious. Two of us had the lasagna and the other person got the scampi and again - fabulous. We like our Cosmo's, but not with Triple Sec so we ordered ours with Cointreau. The bartender did a great job. We had quite a few so they ran out of Cointreau LOL. The waiter actually went across the street and bought another bottle! I'm pretty sure most places would have just used Triple Sec and not said a word. We just had the best time. The waiter (too many Cosmos I forgot his name) was a sweetheart. We were visiting San Diego from Los Angeles -- but we will definitely be back!

The restaurant had one waiter serving 20 tablespoons of I’m shocked we got our food on time. The low score was not a reflection on staff but on management. Management needs to step it up and get their people help.

Three of us had the spicy sausage entree as we have had it before and it was delicious. While the flavor was outstanding they did change the pasta that they use in this dish. It used to be Campanelle now is was a small curly pasta. I think the Campanelle made it a special dish, so I was a little disappointed with the pasta choice. Otherwise, service was very good. We arrived at 5:30 for our reservation and were seated immediatley. Shortly thereafter the restaurant began to fill up and there was a nice buzz in the restaurant without it being too loud.

Excellent food in a very noisy environment. This is a very small establishment that provides lovely food in tight quarters. The space allows little room between tables for the staff to operate, and the overpowering sound from neighboring establishments inhibits the ability to converse with fellow diners without leaning in to hear what is being said. I would still recommend Rovino to a friend, but don’t expect a relaxed, leisurely experience. It is hectic dining.

I liked the food and the service, but the outdoor dinning experience was poor. They lack space heaters and the ambiance was cheap. We sat on steel lawn chairs and the table was bare, scuffed and dirty. I was embarrassed to bring a date there.

Indoor seating meant you had 3 walls around you and an open porch in front of you with the kitchen door next to you. The food was edible but just barely. Took guests from out of town and they were not impressed

The food was delicious! No doubt. Service and attention to customer does need a bit a work, especially on a holiday like Thanksgiving. We constantly were sitting ducks when it came to waiting for assistance on like our bottle, a box, or the check. And it wasn’t very busy either. Other than the staff was very friendly, which to me is of overall importance. Would definitely recommend this place.
