Wonderful ambience- 2nd story patio seating has a view of downtown San Juan Capistrano. Papaya salad and Pad Thai was delicious! Chef came to our table to make sure we enjoyed our dinner. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely return!

The food was remarkable, very delicious. The ambiance on the patio looks really nice, however we sat indoors. I think they need more plants and soft decor to minimize the noise and to soften the vibe. The area we sat in is a big open room and just doesn't seem very intimate. Other than that, the food was really good, the service was very nice and we were seated at our reserved time! Next time, the patio for me. I only gave it a 3-4 star rating due to the interior vibe. But, give it a try, you won't be disappointed in the food. PS-a visit from the chef would be a nice touch. I'm sure he has amazing stories of his travels around the Asian-Pacific rim.

Food was bland and nearly flavorless. Steak salad came with no lettuce, burger tasted like a frozen patty from Costco, pad Thai was completely flavorless and the chicken salad had a dressing that tasted like straight sriracha. Chicken in the salad was overcooked as was the bang bang shrimp. Highly disappointing.

We felt so special! The team gave great recommendations and even made a cute baby steamed milk for our son. What a fun way to spend Mother’s Day.

Chic place in great location. We were right on the corner and had a great view. Server was very attentive. Food was great and portioned nicely. Great ambiance. Was definitely glad we went there for Mother’s Day :)

Fabulous new restaurant in the heart of the historic district of San Juan Capistrano. Rosewood Social has great service, perfect views and amazing vibes. For drinks, try the Nirvana or the Guava Margarita - so good! (They also have mocktail versions of their popular drinks which I love!) The main attraction is honestly the food, which is perfection. You can tell that every single ingredient is carefully thought out and cooked with care. My favorites were definitely the Tom Yum Soup (some of the best I’ve ever had!) and the Honey Walnut Shrimp. We will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our meal. We started with the papaya salad, I had the black cod and my husband had the NY strip. Service was excellent. The ambience was beautiful, not too loud so it was perfect for a date night because we could actually hear each other. We really enjoyed meeting the chef when he came to greet us at our table. We will definitely be returning

Fantastic new restaurant. Everything we ordered were delicious and beautifully presented. The service was topnotch. Favorite dishes were the eggplant curry appetizer and ume ice cream. My husband said his filet mignon steak was the best he had for awhile. Only criticism is that the noise level was quite high despite the restaurant being quite empty, the acoustics are not great. They need a few thick rugs in there to absorb the noise. Give Rosewood Social a try, you won’t regret it.

Excellent food, drinks, service and ambience. We loved our experience here. We sat on the patio and the view was lovely. Our waiter Taylor was very friendly. My husband had the fried rice and veggie curry and I had the chicken. The dishes were delicious! Taylor recommended the pineapple martini, which was flavorful and refreshing. My husband had the strawberry mocktail and it was do good I ordered one too. The chef came and talked to us. So thoughtful! I highly recommend this gem!

Food was just meh… nothing was great. We had bang shrimp, garlic noodles and fries on the happy hour menu. The fries were a joke. For dinner we had the papaya salad (no real depth of flavor) spring rolls (these need work), pad Thai (too much citrus), miso cod (well cooked fish, rice was a bit hard, only 2 snow peas), and short rib (pretty good). Drinks were creative and good. Service was good. Still working out kinks but everyone very nice. Fingers crossed they fine tune things. It has great possibilities.

Rosewood Social is a new gem crowning the rooftops of San Juan Capistrano. The atmosphere is bright and breezy, with lovely views of downtown, the Mission, and the surrounding hillsides.The menu is an eclectic variety of surf, turf, and veggie dishes with exotic twists, and the chef stopped by in person to check that everything was prepared to our satisfaction. Our server was attentive and friendly, and able to explain a few of the ingredients we'd never heard of. We'll definitely be back for dinner, and brunch sounds like a winner too!

We live in SJC and recently noticed Rosewood Social had opened up above Selma's. We made reservations for dinner and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious - we had the Honey Walnut Shrimp, Miso Cod, and Braised Short Rib. All were cooked perfectly. Our waitress (Miranda) was very pleasant and helpful with some of the menu items, and the Chef and his business partner both stopped by to check on us and say hi. Overall we were very pleased to have a new restaurant in town and will be going back soon.

Had a delightful dinner tonight at rosewood social . Wonderful rooftop terrace ,modern decor Service was very warm and attentive. Chef John came out to introduce himself and check in on us. Three of us shared food. We loved the honey walnut shrimp, the fried rice, and the tenderloin tips had great flavour . We enjoyed the black cod with miso glaze and stir fried broccoli. All in all a great evening out , we would definitely return .

Finally, a great restaurant with great service and food in an awesome location and view. This is a pretty new restaurant right above Selma's in downtown San Juan Capistrano, and while my wife and I moved here from San Francisco a couple years ago, we've found the local scene fine, not great. We thought we were too spoiled from the S.F. food scene. But Rosewood was exceptional. I had the steak filet -- one of the best I've had since we moved here. My wife had the prawns cooked to perfection. The craft cocktails were exceptional, and I had a very good glass of the Chilean Cabernet to compliment the steak. The appetizers and the papaya salad were great, a tad on the spicy side, but quality food nonetheless. We ate here on a late afternoon, and the service and ambiance were both great. With a good band playing across the street at Swallows, what an enjoyable experience. The chef even came out to greet us. We'll be back for dinner, and what a great spot as well for a cocktail at the outdoor bar.

Fantastic view of San Juan from the patio and the interior is nicely decorated as well. The walnut shrimp was good and a nice size portion for an appetizer. The French toast was very good too. Our waitress was very patient with us taking our time making a decision on our order. And I never had to wait to my water glass to be filled. I will come back again!

Great weather for dining alfresco. The deck and outside bar was excellent for people watching. The food was excellent. We had appetizers, and seafood dishes. I haven't has Tom Yom soup this good since I was in Thailand. Special bonus when the chef made a personal appearance to ask if we enjoyed the food. Classy, we will return.

This is my second time since opening and still excellent. Lauren’s service was beyond expectations as my first experience was a month ago. We started with the lobster spring rolls, the peanut sauce added just the right amount of spice to enhance the lobster. The coconut curry is as authentic with tofu as it would be adding any protein, the rice was a nice add but can be devoured all on its own.The New York strip was cooked to perfection paired with garlic mash potatoes and Asian spinach added a marinated blend of savory tart that works well together. We ended the night with the banana fritters and ube ice cream, this left my husband wanting more ice cream to complement the fritters. Definitely another visit to try more of the amazing pairings. And well recommended if your taste buds are in the mood for an Asian infused adventure.

Wonderful!!! Appetizers- Bang Shrimp, calamari, and fried rice. All good, but shrimp was excellent. I decided to eat the pad tai and Tom Yum soup. The soup flavor was out of this world. People I was with got New York steak, Sea Bass and Black Cod. Everything was delicious! It is wonderful how they organize the space. The tables are well spread out. You do not feel crowded. We already making plans to go back.

Everything was beyond our expectations. The service, the food and the venue were outstanding. The Bang Bang Shrimp, Calamari, New York Strip and Chilean Sea Bass were so delicious. My wife and I came her for the first time, but it definitely will not be the last time. Everything that we chose from the Brunch menu was absolutely delicious. What a fabulous restaurant. The food was some of the best I’ve ever tasted in my 80 years. We had lot’s of appetizers and main courses. All were tasty and cooked perfectly. Our wait person, Myranda, was the best! We met the owner who was gracious and made my wife’s 80th birthday celebration a rousing success!

Great addition to San Juan Capistrano. From the sea bass to the flavorful seafood tom yum, all of the dishes were excellent. Both blue indigo and electric avenue cocktails were mouthwatering. Lauren provided great service, adding to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. Keep up the great work!

Wow! New spot in downtown San Juan Capistrano is phenomenal! The service, the food, the cocktails, the ambiance, the location…all made for a perfect date night! Hubby and I shared the Tom Yum soup, best we’ve ever had. The lobster Spring rolls which was paired with the most delicious dipping sauce, the yummy jumbo prawns and Seabass made with love! My cocktail, forget the name but I know it had gin in it, was beautiful in presentation and paired well with all of our food. Shout out to the owners, one being the chef for bringing such a savory experience to San Juan. The menu does not disappoint and will certainly please a range of palates!

We had amazing service from the moment we sat down. We had the Guava Margarita to start with wings and honey walnut shrimp. I ordered the filet and my husband ordered the Chilean sea bass. Everything we had was so flavorful and cooked to perfection! We sat on the patio and enjoyed the view. We cannot wait to go back!
