Located in the historic Fulton Market district of Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, Rose Mary is Chef/Owner Joe Flamm’s debut restaurant inspired by his Italian heritage and the bold, bright flavors of Croatian cuisine. The boisterous space—named for Flamm’s grandmothers, Mary and Mary Rose, and the herb rosemary, which grows natively along the Italian and Croatian coastlines—offers a seasonal menu of rustic yet refined dishes that encapsulate what Flamm has coined “Adriatic drinking food”.

Rosemary was Fabulous!!! Food, service and experince was Great!!! I would highly recommend going if you have not been. It was our first visit and our server was great about guiding us through the menu!!

The shared plates are the best way to be able to taste as much on the menu as possible! The ribs and gnocchi were incredible! Cocktails were fun and delicious! The only reason I gave an overall of 4 stars instead of 5 is the 2 hour window of dining time. For us, that is a bit rushed if you want to try and enjoys lots of dishes and your drinks. We will be back!

Such an outstanding dining experience! We got the zucchini fritters, tuna crudo, cacio e Pepe, and the pork ribs, and it was all so amazing! One of the best meals we’ve had. Can’t wait to return.

Everything was very bland and under-salted. Main server was apathetic at best. Zucchini fritters tasted like they were fried in old oil and slightly burnt. Cramped space where you’re on top of other guests. Disappointing because our first visit 2 years ago was excellent. Oh well, won’t be back!

We had literally spend $600 and were kicked out within 30 seconds of paying. The food and service were excellent. But the hostess was incredibly rude. We didn’t linger. We literally paid and were evicted. Rough end to a nice evening.

Every item we selected on the menu was wonderful. Great combination of flavors and nice portion sizes. It was a bit too loud for me. But overall a great combo experience.

The food here is amazing. Truly every dish we had was stellar. Service was attentive and thoughtful. Incredible pastas, hearth cooked food. There's a reason this place is booked solid, immense attention to detail without being pretentious or ostentatious.

There were 3 of us. - we ordered 6 items, and it was pretty perfect. The drinks were super expensive, that’s my only complaint. $18 for a very small glass of wine is a lot, but I’d go back. It was very bustling, but that’s kinda fun too. All good.

Disappointed with my experience.The octopus was overcooked and had a burned taste, while the risotto lacked any discernible flavor. Overall, the food was just average

We were disappointed. A lot of the food items were too salty, the service was spotty, and the prices were very high for the portion size.

The ambience and service were excellent. The plates are meant to be shared, however, the portion size was very small for the price of each dish. My husband left hungry.

Went with my partner for date night. Service was great and the food even better! Cacio e pepe is to die for. Will defintiely be coming back!

Amazing food! Highly recommend getting the sweet potato dish. The service was okay, it took the server and assistant a while to get us water and our first drink orders.

My experience at Rose Mary was VERY disappointing. Nothing on the Rose Mary website suggested that service was tapas-style, so discovering that at the restaurant was a surprise. Tapas-style service wouldn't normally be a bad thing, except that there was at least a 20 minute wait between plates (which for a party of 2 was excessive). And while pleasant, we barely saw the waitress during the entire meal. The food quality was fine . . . nothing was disappointing, but at the same time, nothing was particularly memorable - except for the exceptional size of the check. While at first blush, the ambiance of the restaurant is lovely, the noise level within the restaurant was very high (at least a roar!) and, shockingly there were a LOT of fruit flies and medium sized bugs harassing the diners.

Rosemary never fails. 37th wedding anniversary. The entire staff made sure we enjoyed ourselves. Sat at the Chefs table area. Loved watching all the chefs prepare the dishes. They even gave us two dishes on the house for our anniversary. Lauren was our server. Great job. Didn't rush us. Woke up the next day and my wife said she could go back again tonight!! Only issue I had was Joe Flamm wasn't there that night. Had another engagement. But his crew was AMAZING!! We both have Croatian wives. Was looking forward to doing another shot of Slivovitz with the Chef. Zivjeli!! Until next time.

We arrived for our 4:30 reservation (the only available time!) to a fairly quite, bright, pleasant space filled with plants. By 5:00 it was hopping! The service was excellent and we were unexpectedly joined by friend and they moved us to a larger table- very nice. The food was exceptional. We had the Sweet Potato (words don’t describe this carmelized delight), Burek (a pastry filled with goodies and cheese and simply amazing), Asparago Risotto (a creamy, parmesean sauce with asparagus- yummy), and Tortellini (done just al dente and delicious). The tapas style plates are generous and we would have been fine with 3 split by 2 people. The restaurant was full but didn’t feel crowded. Highly recommend!

This high scale restaurant is excellent. Everything on the menu is exceptional. We ordered four dishes and they were all equally delicious. For a special dinner this is the place to go!!

We were served raw shrimp and when brought to our waiter’s attention, we received a very lack luster response. The waiter told us that “I eat raw shrimp from time to time so it should be fine…you may or may not get sick for eating it”. I have never known a restaurant to bring out raw shrimp and when confronted give so little care about the health and well being of their customer. Big disappointed in what would’ve been a great experience otherwise.

Loved our experience at Rose Mary, we tried so many options on the menu and loved the tasting small plates. Everything was so flavorful! Loved the marriage of Italian and Croatian culinary standouts!

Was so excited to try Rose Mary but it just didn’t live up to the hype for us. Could have been because my dining partner requested dairy free options tho? Would have appreciated more guidance from the server on what to order for sure. Some things that can be made dairy free are not necessarily going to be the same quality as some others, you know? Plus the decor was like, okay.

This was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Recommend to go with a larger party. We were a party of 5 which allowed us to try more dishes since it’s a small plate sharing experience.

Honestly one of the best meals I've ever had. We got about $60 worth of free alcohol, which was amazing, but also the sea bass was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life.

The food was delicious, especially the gnocchi with braised beef. We should’ve order two of those. The roasted cauliflower was delicious, as well. Drinks were fantastic. Our waitress was very nice, helpful, and attentive. Beautiful interior. Overall, a great experience.
