La 2ème succursale tant attendue du Rosa Mexicano a ouvert ses portes en juillet 2000. À quelques pas du Lincoln Center, cet impressionnant espace conçu par David Rockwell dispose d'un mur d'eau de 30 pieds couvrant les deux niveaux du restaurant, irisé de tuiles bleues et orné de 240 plongeurs miniatures. Il offre également un escalier "flottant" spectaculaire tout en dalles de terrazzo, dans les tons d'orange et de rouge, et des panneaux rétroéclairés derrière le bar décoré de pétales de rose. Elu "Best Restaurant 2000" par l'Interiors Magazine, son look contemporain unique a inauguré une nouvelle ère pour l'établissememt.

I arrived and was told the upstairs was full - I had a friend in from out of town - and the upstairs is much nicer. So we sat downstairs where the tables are very very small. No one was sitting on either side - I asked if we could pull another table to make our space bigger. We were told no, every seat had been booked. They would also need to clean the tables if we put even a bottle of water on another table. We had to put our chips on the seat next to us. NO ONE ever came and sat in any of the other seats downstairs - I really felt that was obnoxious as this is a nice place. The excuse was bazzar as well - and I just felt like my experience didnt matter. I am supprised and not happy at all with our dinner, I have been there many times before. WIth its Grade Pending - I think it is changed for the worse. Thinking more about the customer is not so hard!

I wasn't seated until my guest arrived, so I had to wait outside in the rain. This policy seems ridiculous for a table for two (I would get for a party of 6+!) and affected the overall experience. The staff were respectful though and the food was fine, but the inconvenience of waiting overshadowed everything else.

Always a good place to go. Guac and Margaritas are super. Service was slow yesterday for some reason- possibly a lot of large parties for graduations? Our server was terrific though and we know it wasn't her fault.

This place is great! Only complaint I have is we were seated by the door which was opened frequently causing us to be very cold. Great food and service.

The food was good. My guest had the Shrimp, and I had a NY Strip. The shrimp was excellent. My steak however was dry. Everything else was good. I worked as a bartender in a few Mexican restaurants back in the 80s (Cinco De Mayo/on West Broadway and Cadillac Bar/21st street). I worked for Mrs. Howard at Cinco De Mayo. She managed the first Rosa Mexicana so I'm familiar with the lineage of most of the dishes that are served at Rosa's. I had many meals at the 58th and 1st location. I was at the opening of the first Rosa Mexicana on 58th and 1st avenue back in 1984. The food at the original Rosa Mexicana was better and more authentic. Mrs. Howard was a very nice woman and I respected her a great deal. We were friends for many years. Mrs. Howard was an excellent restauranteur. Sadly, she passed many years ago. I don't think what is being served presently would meet her high standards but for the money I think Rosa Mexicana is a good deal and a good place to eat. I was also the bartender at Joey Paisano's/61/Columbus Ave, so it was nice to eat there and think back to the old days. Good luck with the restaurant, over all its a good place. Guacamole tasteless. It’s noisy, it’s packed, it’s unpleasant. Entrees and staff very good and staff very friendly.

It was Tuesday Taco night so may have affected experience. Free salsa was watery, tacos were minimal and served cold. Sent back to kitchen but new order was tasteless. Only positive was savings on cost.

Very positive experience! We have originally had a reservation for 7. At the very last minute we ended up being 10. The manager was very polite and accommodating and, in just a few moments, the table for 10 was ready for us.

We enjoyed our time at Rosa Mexicano on Cinco de Mayo. Our waiter came off as a little rude at first while he was taking our order. By the end of the night he had a better attitude about letting us look over our check again but we just thought his attitude and patience could have used an adjustment.

The Rosa Mexicano restaurant by Lincoln Center offers a nice experience. The waiter we had was exceptional and was attentive. The food was good, especially the tres leche cake (sooo good!). My mother and I were quite full with fried shrimp and chicken tacos and side of rice & beans, and I can not forget the freshly made guacamole! After a while, I forgot that I had ever tried making reservations at the Rosa Mexicano in Midtown East. This location was way better!!

I’ve been there before and enjoyed it more. The brunch entrees we ordered weren’t great, and the flight of mimosas was warm and bland. It was Cinco de Mayo, so they were busy. They seemed understaffed and not prepared for a busy day. It took us a while to get our waiter when we needed him.

Margaritas were 90% ice 10.% margaritas. Portions were half of what it used to be to be at a higher price

Not nearly as good as it used to be. They changed the menu a while back and added more items that Americans are used to seeing on a Mexican restaurant menu such as nachos. They never had that in the past. Service isn’t as good either. Was once much more upscale experience.

We are frequent diners here. This was probably our worst experience ever. We asked to be seated upstairs with our reservation but were seated downstairs. Room was very noisy and cold. Service was inattentive and rushed. Our main course was brought out even before we were half way through our margaritas and appetizers. It felt more like McDonalds than the Rosa we are used to.

My second guest was running a little late, and rather than being able to be sat in advance so I could place an order to be ready for my guest’s arrival so we could get to Lincoln Center on time, I was asked to wait until they arrived before being seated. After the host described the strict policy, I asked if I could get a table of one instead in order to begin the order right away. The host honored the table of one but made sure to take the second place setting away from the table, which later needed to be replaced again when my guest arrived. My decision to change my reservation from 2 to 1 was a benefit to the restaurant, kitchen, and server as they were able to get more revenue than if I had needed to wait and only been able to order an appetizer in the time we had after the guest arrived. I understand how a “full party” policy may be necessary in some circumstances, however, as a business owner, there’s also a possible loss of revenue to be considered for such strict policies. Other than the host’s attitude around working with the policy and my change based on the policy, the food was great, and atmosphere was lovely.

we are locals and have been here before and never had an experience as poor as this. the service was very slow. my companions said that the wait staff forgot about us. but I don't know how they could have; they gave us the table closest to the kitchen. we arrived 15 min early for our reservation and the resaurant was not very crowded. we each had dinner and two rounds of drinks. we had been there a few minutes short of 2 hours and were waiting for our waiter so we could ask for our check. he appeared and abruptly said that they needed the table. they had people with reservations waiting. we were stunned and disappointed.

Decent food convenient to Lincoln Center. Service can be spotty, even at off times. Premium drinks could be more generously sized for the price.

I got there at 4:30pm had a fulhnctipn at 6pm and assumed that I would have more than enough time to have finished dinner. Our food was served at 6:10pm and my friend’s order was wrong. The delay caused me to be late to an important corporate function. Do better Rosa Mexicana

They seated us outside where it was quiet, and we were served immediately. Delicious, moderately priced. But inside it seemed much too noisy for me!

The only bad thing is that we were seated right next to the busboy station so I could barely hear my boyfriend over the clanging of silverware and orders.
