Flood cold and vastly overpriced. Pla he was in a box for hours. dried out. server didn't bring setups. no return trip for anything. $75 bucks for yuk.

We arrived a bit before 6 pm on a Tuesday. We had our choice of booths at that hour. Gabby was our server. She was cheerful and attentive. She definitely added to our enjoyable meal. Our meals were actually pretty good and, for these days, reasonably priced. I’d definitely return.

After our last visit the day after the Super Bowl, we were hesitant, but hopeful, as the food and service have always been good here. That Monday they were totally out of bread and our food was cold when it got to our table. Hardly anybody in the place, so no excuse for cold food. Yesterday was Easter Sunday and nobody wanted to cook. So we decided to give Macaroni Grill another shot. We were not disappointed. Not very crowded and our food was nice and hot and absolutely delicious! I happen to really like their Parmesan Chicken, and it was great! Dad had the lasagna and ate every molecule! Mom said her chicken scallopine was excellent! Our server, while busy, made sure we were well taken care of. The bread was delicious! We were glad that we went back!

Let me tell you, my mom and I really enjoy coming to Macaroni Grill. She’s 93, and it’s a short drive to this location. Typically we order the brussels sprouts appetizer and something else. However, for some reason, the brussels sprouts were incredibly tough as though they had not been par cooked prior to crisping. We could barely chew them, but we did receive a huge portion. That part made us happy. We ended up taking the brussels sprouts home so that we can cook them better ourselves at a later date. My mom ordered lasagna, but the server brought out chicken Parmesan for her instead. So she had to wait for her meal to be cooked separately. This size of her lasagna was not very large in comparison to what we are used to receiving for that price. I gave her a bit of my chicken marsala while her meal was being prepared. It did seem as though some parts of this service was lacking given that we had no silverware or napkins initially at our table and had to ask for them. Others who arrived much later than we did were able to order, receive their meal, and ended up leaving much before we did. I’m not certain Why things felt a little slow for us. We enjoyed each other’s company, so we just ended up relaxing. we did receive a complementary dessert, and we were pleased about that. It just seemed as though our evening went a little slowly, even though we got there at 4 PM. There were only a few people eating when we arrived. We will return, as this is one of our favorite little spots. Overall, we always enjoy coming to Macaroni Grill , and we hope this location stays open for a long time in the future! If you’re wondering what to try, the chicken scallopini, chicken marsala, penne rustica, and mamas trio are wonderful! Actually, there’s really not a bad item on the menu. Indulge!

Both my meal and my partner’s meal where way below standard for the price. Reached out directly to the restaurant with feedback and got no reply. Unlikely to ever return! Food was missing a requested ingredient and was nearly cold. Chicken was tough and overcooked!

Great service. Amazing server. Drinks were wonderful. The food was terrible. Every single thing we ordered was cold, which I imagine was hard to do as there was nobody there.

My date and I arrived to the restaurant 30 minutes early. Thinking , maybe with a reservation we would be seated first. At least before people who were arriving after us ! First mistake I should have walked out at that moment !!!! We were sat by an open door way . On a rainy night with wind blowing in on us ! On Valentine's Day ugh 😩 🩵... Then the most tackiest thing ever the waitress Logan wrote her name in red on my table 🙄 any who . We ordered the food arrived guess what ..... The food was cold 🥶 undercooked pasta and the chicken was burnt crispy . Never again will be going to Romano's Macaroni Grill - Elk Grove

We had reservations and didn’t get sat down til 20 min later. Which was fine since it was a holiday night. We ordered right away since we were with our kids. The food didn’t come out to us until 1.5 hours later and even then our kids cheese pizzas were still not out yet. 10 min later those came. The food was below average. Then the dessert we had ordered 1.5 hours ago was sold out already. Our server was great. The management mismanaged. If they didn’t have enough cook staff then they should not have taken so many walk ins. We also observed a young lady sat next to us who found a plastic rubberband in her food.

First off, we went on Valentine's Day so the restaurant was really busy. We had reservations but were seated in the bar area. The waitress, Jaz, was very friendly but over extended. I ordered an Old Fashioned and the first one was so watered down that I complained and was brought another one which seemed like straight bourbon (2/10). Our calamari appetizer came and was cold and very chewy (3/10). I ordered the steak and potatoes and the mashed potatoes and broccolini was very good, but the steak was over cooked and luke warm (6/10) . We've eaten her several times and enjoy it very much. Just don't go on a holiday, you may regret it.

I was just very disappointed. This was my first time coming to this location in over a decade. Before I moved out of Elk Grove I use to come here and celebrate many birthdays, my 8th grade promotion, etc etc. (I’m 28 now). I took my kids here the other night and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing to say the least. The sign outside was broke, the decor inside looked like a cheap restaurant trying to survive, the seats were ripped, and on top of that they stopped playing the learn italian words in the bathroom on the speakers. As funny as it sounds I specifically had my kids go into the bathroom to learn a word for fun. Were Italian and our family speaks it, so they were excited. Until we got in there and it was just The Weeknd playing 😒. When we got there we had waited at the host stand for a good 5 minutes before even being acknowledged. The place was empty so I’m not going to say short staffed would have even matter if that were the case. The only reason I’m giving as many stars as I did is because our server was great. I can’t remember his name. It either started with an A or N. Dark hair maybe middle eastern? But super super friendly, helpful, and respectful

I think we caught this normally good restaurant on a bad day. On New Year's Day I decided at the last minute to take my elderly parents out to dinner. I had a gift card and it was also BOGO Mac Monday, so my frugal father was okay with going out. We hadn't eaten here in person since covid, but we had ordered food to go many times during that year. Easy reservation and it was only about 25% full. We had a very friendly waitress but the first bad news was they were out of bread! We always look forward to their bread with olive oil and balsamic; but no bread. Still, we decided to stay. I think they had two wait staff on duty. We ordered our entrees and it took well over 30-40 minutes before we got our food. And this was with almost nobody else in the restaurant. People who came in after us got served before us and we were all parties of 3-4 people. Our waitress got the food settled and said she'd be back in a few minutes to check on us. It looked and smelled great! My mom was the first to say her chicken was cold. I was cutting up my dad's food so I didn't try mine right away. It was barely lukewarm. The parmesan chicken normally rocks here, but not when it's cold. So all four of us had cold food. We waited for our waitress to come back but it was about 15 minutes later. She got the manager and he made it good, giving us a discount and free desserts. But it was not a great experience as we couldn't eat the food and we had to take it home, where it will make good leftovers. So our restaurant dinner consisted of cheesecake and ice water. Not exactly a well-balanced meal. We were disappointed, but I hope the next time we go things are more normal.

Our waiter, Navi, was nothing short of amazing considering the kitchen was severely challenged. I say that kindly, it was Christmas Day after all, and the place was packed. We had a reservation for 6 people at 5pm, but they were not able to seat us until 530pm. Only after bugging the host an additional time after checking in, did he reluctantly seat us at an 8top table. That was mildly irritating since it seemed to have been empty for a while and they likely could've seated us sooner. That was all fine, because our waiter was amazing. He set really great expectations with us about the kitchen begin really behind on certain items. He let us know which appetizers would be delayed and which would be quick and also let us know that my husband's lasagna would likely be late out of the kitchen. Knowing this up front made all the difference. However, he got his meal right along with the rest of our party. The meal that was delayed was for my dad, the one person that ordered the Prime Rib special. Most of us were done eating by the time the kitchen produced his meal and it was barely cooked. He had requested that it be cooked medium and it was so rare it was difficult to cut with the butter knife provided. Navi once again was able to save the day with some comic relief and keeping us refilled on our drinks and just being super attentive. My dad was not at all happy with his meal, but he had waited so long he just needed to eat. He was able to consume the potatoes but the broccoli was was inedible. Very disappointing and despite the exceptional service from Navi, we likely won't ever go back to this restaurant. Too much money for mediocre food. If you're going because of an event, I highly recommend Navi as your server, you'll need it!

I’m giving 5 stars for the service by Raquel, she was amazing. When we walked in the restaurant was packed with people. They were crazy busy on Christmas Day. Raquel took excellent care of our table, checked on us numerous times, refilled drinks, bread, etc. Raquel did all this with a friendly, genuine smile and demeanor. We saw her across the way giving the same wonderful service to the other tables. I had the Lasagna, my husband had spaghetti and my Daughter had the Butternut Tortellacci. We also had caesar salad, chocolate cake and tiramisu, we enjoyed our meals and dessert. My daughter said the Tortellacci was excellent. Thank you Raquel for the wonderful service on Christmas Day!

Kitchen gives priority to Doordash orders vs customers in dining room. Doordash sets service standards, customers can't. Extensive delays in service.

Went here for Christmas day lunch with wife. Ordered the prime rib special and the mama's trio (fettucine alfredo, lasagna, chicken parmesan. Ordered prime rib 'medium'.. it was more med-well. Creamed potatoes side was great. Prime rib was ok, but more lukewarm. The pastas tasted good, but again, the food was lukewarm to almost cool. So although the taste was good, it didn't feel fresh. The bread served before the meal was great, fresh/hot, perfect.

We went to the Macaroni Grill in Elk Grove for our Christmas Lunch/Dinner. First I must say this was the worst meal (and average service) we've had at any restaurant in quite some time. When we arrived, "Felipe" took us to the back of the restaurant to seat us at the last table next to the kitchen. This was concerning given the restaurant was almost empty and there were numerous more desirable locations. We pointed out a better location and he accommodated. Our server was Loran. She was good and attentive. We started with the Crispy Brussel Sprouts, which were overcooked and almost impossible to cut with a fork and knife rendering them almost inedible. We were hungry so we did our best. Our table also ordered the Pollo Caprese, Seafood Ravioli and Chicken Parmesan. The Pollo Caprese chicken breast was overcooked and hard to cut and chew. The "imported" mozzarella had no flavor at all. The Seafood Ravioli was bland and served barely warm. The Chicken Parmesan was as expected. There was no Christmas holiday menu option. Very disappointing meal. We will not be going back to the Macaroni Grill in Elk Grove.

It is very difficult to get reservations on Christmas Eve for dinner, but it was very easy through Open Table. We had a wonderful, memorable experience for our Christmas Eve dinner and the food was extremely good. Thank You Romano’s Macaroni Grill and Open Table!

I ordered the create your own pasta dish. The pasta was tasteless of what to “doey “ The meat sauce was mostly meat and very little sauce leaving the pasta dish dry. I ordered the fresh mozzarella cheese but received some kind of smoked cheese. Overall, when our waitress asked if we wanted to-go boxes, I told her I doubt if I could eat it at home since I couldn’t eat it there. She asked if I want the cook to make it again. Why? It wasn’t good the first time and we had already finished eating by that time. Not sure if I’d return.

Meh. Sunny know if we'll return. Dinner was for my sons birthday (made mention on OprnTable site and to server). Nothing acknowledged. Disappointing. Restaurant was empty at 7:30 and the service was just ok. Don't think we'll return.

Good experience celebrating numerous birthdays! Although when ordering a baileys coffee it came without whipped cream … waitress said they were OUT of whipped cream, 2 of us were disappointed that they did NOT inform us when we ordered it. Waitress never even apologized UNTIL 2 of us made a comment as the coffee drink was SO strong neither of us could drink it! Would have been nice if waitress would have offered something else to replace the coffee drink. Unlikely I will return to that specific location.

We had a large group of 12 with five kids. The kids made for a good part of the noise and Mac Grill staff were very patient with us. Appetizers and bread came out quickly. Everything was delicious. Our main entrees were super. I had chicken scallopini and loved it. I will gladly return as I truly enjoy Macaroni Grill.

Kids running around, guess can’t blame restaurant. Was encouraged to buy the two apps for$13, which I did. Cheese came out immediately second one came out after receiving our entrees. Also, watched two individuals stand at counter in front of kitchen for approximately 40 minutes talking the whole time. Later found out they were the managers. They did not help there staff our come around to ask how our food was. Hope Macaroni Grill can find better management.

We had made a reservation for 10 the day before but when we arrived our table wasn't set up. My food was lukewarm ad the chicken was dry but I didn't want to send it back because everyone else would have been finished eating before I got my food. The chair I was sitting in was dirty and the floor was sticky.

It took a long time for a server to come to us. Then overall the bar and kitchen were very slow. My cocktail didn’t come out until after we had received our appetizers and salads. No offer of bread was made, we had to ask and then it never came. The server constantly apologized but did nothing about it nor did she let her manager know. She kept disappearing off the floor. It wasn’t very busy so that wasn’t an excuse. Overall very disappointing visit.
