ROAR is a restaurant rooted in rebellion. We honour the rebellious history of Tofino and we proudly rebel against the status quo. It’s the waves crashing and raging flames. It’s the roar of a rebellious nature.

This isn’t like any other restaurant. We cook with live fire, and all of our food and beverage is inspired by the local people, makers and ingredients of Tofino.

Just as you would gather with friends around the campfire, we invite you to get comfy here while we share the stories behind every one of our menu items as the fire roars in the background.

    Join us at ROAR for Tofino's first official Drag Brunch! After an epic Tofino Pride party at Hotel Zed on June 22, we're hosting a morning-after Pride brunch that you do not want to miss. Featuring Vivian Vanderpuss (Canada's Drag Race Season Three), Ilona Verley (Canada's Drag Race Season One) and Woofie, this one-time show is going to be outrageously fun! Enjoy ROAR's delicious brunch menu, alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails and some fun Pride-inspired features! Entertainment begins at 11am and runs until 12:30pm. Book now, as we anticipate this will fill up quickly.

    Wonderful service, food and SO pet friendly. We ate on the patio with our 2 dogs and had a lovely relaxing evening. The service was attentive and friendly and the food was delicious.

    It was simply so good we went back a second time to make sure the first time wasn't a fluke. Turned out to be even better the second time.

    There was good variety of food, with lots of local seafood. Excellent preparation of food (open view to the kitchen to watch). Great presentation (we shared the plank salmon for two), and great taste. It's situated in Hotel Zed, which is an experience itself with laid by 70"s style decor. Worth a try if you're in the area.

    The food was outstanding!! We had the smoked scallops for starter which were well smoked and so tender. I had the salmon which was glazed and sat in a nettle purée this was on the special menu. My wife had the pork chop with a rhubarb compote which really complimented the chop. Would definitely recommend *****

    Great Service, appetizers were very good. Our main meals were not as good. My pork chop was overcooked and very dry, with half of a plate of coleslaw with no seasoning. The Salmon was also just okay. We ate there for brunch the next day and the food was phenomenal!

    Steak Frites was delicious. Long Cod was dry, small portioned and the green risotto that accompanied it was tasteless. Joe, was an excellent server.
