Took a while for waitress to approach. Water bottle removed and not replaced. Never got my green tea.

I bring customers to lunch and dinner at Roanoke regularly. The ambiance is nice, the room is quant, and the staff has been very professional and friendly. The food is always good, and they pay attention to food allergies, as I have an allium allergy and i have brought guests with other food sensitivities. The only comment that I have is that I must always request in advance a table in the front of the house. When the restaurant is full the noise level is always incredibly loud in this restaurant. The volume in the front of the house is bad enough, the back of the house is inconceivably loud. Impossible to carry on a conversation for a business meal. So far, they have been accommodating with the request to be seated in the front.

The restaurant was very busy and very loud. We were seated immediately at the time of our reservation. The server greeted us quickly and took our drink order. The bar service was slow but the wine and martinis were delicious. He took our dinner order, and the food came out quickly - which was good because we were in a bit of a rush. My scallops were very salty, and my carrots were roasted to mush. My husband's seabass was delicious, and I will definitely get that next time. I don't mean to imply it was a negative dining experience. There are 3 big theater shows going on, and everyone needed to be fed, watered, and out the door quickly, so Roanoke did a good job overall. I appreciate how nice and efficient the server, host and kitchen staff were.

Absolutely outstanding experience. They went above and beyond to make me and my attendees feel comfortable and they were extremely tentative to the table. Most definitely will be coming back!!

If you have a large group (ours was 10) that needs a quiet place to converse, Roanoke is a great choice. Happy hour offers various specials, and other dishes are both a good value and delicious. The manager kindly turned down the music when we asked. We'll definitely return.

We don't go downtown often, but were going to be in the area so found this restaurant via google. It was really great. The atmosphere was terrific for a casual date night. The food was excellent. I strongly recommend the rotisserie chicken - so delicious! The service was great. Manager even stopped by to check in, which was a very welcoming touch. We will definitely return to this place.

I ordered the crab cake for $21 and it was disappointing. 1 small party held together by bread crumbs and it tasted like fish not crab meat

I’ve been to Roanoke several times for lunch during the work week and have always enjoyed my meal and experience. I was looking forward to trying out their brunch menu for Mother’s Day. Everything about the experience was good, with a couple exceptions and they are more my personal preferences than anything against the restaurant itself. I believe a brunch menu should have more breakfast style options. For example, eggs Benedict is a brunch staple and there was not an option on the menu. Also, a pancake/Waffle/french toast option would be a nice addition to the brunch menu as well. Finally, the steak and eggs could use an upgrade in the cut of steak they use. And if you like it medium, ask for it rare because it cooks very quickly and our medium came out well done.

Decent food for a fair price. Friendly service. Slight miscommunication on takeaway boxes but the server handled the resolution without concern.

We got to Roanoke 15 min. Late and had to leave for play in 45 min. All food and drink delivered in time. We got their burger and fries which were great. 👍👍

It was my first time at this restaurant and our server was wonderful. I had the mushroom and caramelized onion pizza and it was wonderful as well. My dining mate had the turkey club and said it was pretty dull. She would definitely order something different another time. I very much enjoyed the restaurant, and again, the service was fantastic.

Despite having a reservation, that didn't have a table ready when we arrived on time. They ended up making a table for us in an awkward lounge area. They took my drink order without providing a menu. I ordered ice tea and they failed to mention it was flavored ice tea. Lastly, I ordered a no blue cheese or eggs on my cobb salad. It came with no blue cheese and extra eggs.

The food and drinks were good. The bartender was great, not so much the servers... There was no music at all, it felt very awkward. If we were to go back, it would only be to seat at the bar for a drink.

Very disappointed in our pre theater dinner. Had 5:45 reservations for a 50th birthday. We were seated in the upstairs area which is the quieter hotel dining area and did not have the bustling and fun vibe of the lower restaurant. I explained this was a celebration and we wanted to be sat with the guests in the main part of the restaurant but they were unwilling to accommodate us. Our waiter was fun and was over immediately to take a drink and app order while we waited for the rest of our friends to arrive. After that, he did not return to our table for over 35 minutes. Our friends only were able to order their drinks at 6:40 (they arrived at 5:55) when we ordered our food. We said we had a 7:30pm show. Our food arrived close to 7pm and we had less than 15 min to scarf down our food. Our waiter apologized and did offer a 20% discount but we felt this was not an appropriate reconciliation for ruining the birthday dinner experience. Our one friend asked if we could express our concerns to the manager and when he came over he just said I’m sorry and we appreciate the feedback. Didn’t offer anything else or even a birthday dessert. Our waiter did end up bringing a dessert after we said something and apologized again but unfortunately it really didn’t help. Things happen but then you make it right with your customer. Very disappointed in our experience here. They don’t seem to be able to handle the pre theater crowd so I would recommend going elsewhere.

Encouraged by hostess to dine upstairs, but upstairs just feels like a banquet room at a hotel. No fun ambiance. Kind of stark and boring. Waitstaff was polite but stretched too thin. We got our food in a timely manner but then didn’t see our waiter for ages. Didn’t have time to order dessert and coffee so we just finally got the check and left. We were all pretty disappointed with our food. It definitely wasn’t worth the money. Rotisserie chicken was dry. Brussel sprouts were undercooked. Salads were watery. Many things were under seasoned. Could easily have cooked better food for ourselves at home. Wouldn’t go back.

We were seated on second floor -ordered a cocktail and one appetizer and gave our main course at same time. Drinks and appetizer came in a reasonable time but the main course never came. We were there one hour and never saw the waiter again. We started to leave and saw a manager - explained why we were leaving - he apologized and said we owed 00. The little bit of food we ate was very good but the service was terrible.

We had a very nice time dining at Roanoke. The restaurant itself was very inviting and had great, intimate lighting. The food was excellent. I think my only complaint was that service just wasn’t up to par for me. Our waiter didn’t fill our water glasses, and service was slow to take and fill orders, including drinks. I would eat there again though!

Instead of the charming downstairs restaurant, we were put upstairs in a dated large dining room with a little kid birthday party enjoying themselves quite loudly/screaming constantly. Busboy took our order to try to move things forward as we sat abandoned in the large room for a while. Downstairs restaurant is charming. Upstairs is not. The food was good. Would dine there again if I could be guaranteed downstairs seating.

Great restaurant for either a data night or business client meeting. The ambiance is nice. The music selection is a decent mix of music genres. The food and drinks were outstanding and I'd definitely go back. Well done

Our server Lean was great. He was very attentive and took good care of us. My guest ordered the lasagna, I ordered the campanelle each were delicious. Roanoke is a great place for lunch or dinner in the loop.

Dinner last night was wonderful. From the host(ess) seating us to our lovely waiter Isaiah, we had the most comfortable time. The food was outstanding! I had the steak frites which were very indulgent but cooked to perfection. My friend had the fish of the day and my other friend had the mushroom pasta. The portions are large and great if you want to try a few things and share. The staff is great! They checked on us just the right amount of times and helped us with decisions. Super knowledgeable on how long things will take to prepare and what desserts were good for sharing. I will definitely be back :)

Great atmosphere and vibe. Meatballs, wine and steak frites were outstanding. Highly recommend.

The food was fine, nothing extraordinary. The attentiveness of service could’ve been better. Overall it was fine, but wouldn’t make extra effort to return.
