Chef Philip Gagliano is a native New Orleanian of Italian descent who LOVES food! Learning his culinary skills from his mother and grandmothers, Chef Philip serves delightfully classic dishes in an elegant and inviting atmosphere. Menu specialties include Oysters al Oreganate, Chicken & Veal served in 5 classic Italian preparations and USDA Steaks alongside traditional Italian Pasta dishes.
Chef Philip says "I am very attached to my Italian roots and have been in the industry a long time. My wife Mary and I work diligently at the restaurant to make it a wonderful place to dine for all of our guests. We look forward to welcoming you into our restaurant".

Ristorante Filippo is always an excellent pick. We had the mussel appetizer, a special, and both agreed it may be the best steamed mussels we had ever had. The artichoke soup was lovely, full of flavor and not gloopy or too thin. We shared a lasagna, and still had some leftover, and finished with the spumoni. An excellent dinner and a lovely night.

Oyster appetizer was maybe 3-4 oysters covered in bread crumbs. And this was the large serving. Then had the Veal Piccata that was swimming in sauce. Could taste the flour in the sauce, gummy. Plenty of capers, which I love. But too many. Two small pieces of veal. Again, could taste the flour.

Mary was very sweet and professional. She called me about my accommodations, which was very thoughtful and made my dining experience. Fantastic. Chris was our waiter. He was wonderful. I was looking forward to the spinach artichoke soup, which was not on the menu, but he and the chef made it happen; which was very much appreciated. It was a delicious. By far my favorite soup. My salad was fantastic. We also ordered the veal marsala, which was amazing. We met the chef who was very kind and down-to-earth. You can just tell he’s a fantastic family man and very hands-on in the kitchen. Would highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.

Food was great. Definitely a cute little Italian place. It is small, I would get a reservation. The bench 1/2 our party was on was a bit uncomfortable but I guess it just comes with the charm of the place. We will be back!
