The first Risotteria Melotti was opened in Isola della Scala, in the region of VERONA, in 2002. The idea of opening a Risotteria in New York came in order to make this typical and traditional italian dish known and cooked by us, with the rice we produce and with the typical old style techniques used in Isola della Scala.

The ambiance and authenticity of the experience is what will make me come back. Our servers were charming, if a tiny bit of a language barrier. The food was fairly good, although my duck risotto was sort of lacking in duck (my dining companion's lemon and shrimp risotto was delicious) and the wine was exceptional. I was a bit surprised at the overall price of some items, but risotto is always a bit more pricey than it seems it should be for the humble rice grain. However, the overall charm and relaxed vibe of the space made me feel like I was back in my uncle's kitchen in Vercelli which will make me come back time and again.

Perfect choice if you have gluten free diners in your group. All 4 risotto dishes were awesome. The cinghiale was particularly delicious. The arancini and polenta apps were perfect. On top of that, they called to make sure our service dog would be seated in an area that would be comfortable. Very accommodating, great service! Next time we’re in NYC we’ll need to return.

Loved the food here! I’ve been to their same restaurant in Italy and the food is as authentic. Risotto are the best in the City! Very friendly staff and great chilled atmosphere that reminded me to be in Italy, wine list has also a very good selection, we drank the Ripasso Valpolicella and loved it. Such a good experience, will surely go back for new different risottos!!!

I am a risotto lover and when I saw this place on Instagram with amazing reviews and then on Google and Yelp, of course I wanted to go there and try their risotto. I and my husband ordered two different risottos, and both were very undercooked..rice was hard..This was very disappointing(((

If you’re craving risotto - this is the place to be at! Everything on the menu is delicious and gluten free. Very authentic Italian risotto dishes and it’s a family owned business - you can even buy the melotti rice to cook at home! Absolutely love love love this restaurant.

Amazing gluten free menu. The hostess/waitress was awesome. The cook was super friendly. Was so grateful everything was gluten free and they could make dairy free! Our kids loved their meal and desert. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Overall experience was very good. Seated immediately, Brian , our host was very pleasant. We ordered 3 risotto dishes which were very tasty however the rice was a bit undercooked. Desserts were amazing especially the peach cobbler.

This place was amazing. If you have a Gluten allergy it's a godsend. If you like good Italian food it's equally amazing. Wild boar risotto was superb and the arancini was otherworldly. Trust me on the French fries....

Delicious gluten-free, dairy-free food, and you couldn’t even tell that it was it was so good. The bread they give you is amazing, and the risotto even more delicious. Ordered the shrimp risotto with the Sauvignon wine. Will most definitely return in future. 5/5 stars ⭐️

What a perfect anniversary meal we had! Food was delicious (and totally safe, for a celiac/GF eater like me!) and the service could not possibly have been better. We can't wait to visit Manhattan again, so we can go back to eat at R. Melotti again. Just the best, highly recommended for anyone and everyone! (you wouldn't even guess it is all GF!) but if you are celiac like me, this is a fantastic place to eat, hang out, and be replenished. Thank you, all!

The food is always excellent, though rich (it’s taken me a few years to know how to order to not get overfull). The crowding is very uncomfortable and an overperfumed or loud party can really impede enjoyment. I will return to visiting earlier in the evening and during the week to avoid crowds. It is always a favorite when I come back to NY.

Small cute restaurant. We had a 5:30 reservation and our friends arrived at the restaurant around 4:15 to have pre-dinner drinks. We arrived at the restaurant at around 4:30 to drink with them and we were sat at our reserved table. The restaurant had people at 2 other tables. We felt rushed by the waitress to order eventhough we were 1 hour early. Since we were so early, we wanted to order appetizers first with a bottle of wine. The waitress commented that the owners preferred to get the whole order at once, but she let it go. We were done with dinner around 6:15ish and the waitress told us that they needed the table.( Mind you we had a 5:30 reservation) The restaurant was not full at all. I understand small restaurants need to turn tables over, but assuming we got to the restaurant at 5:30 the restaurant was only going us an hour to eat ?
