    Food and drinks were absolutely fantastic but the server didn’t seem too interested in taking care of us. Appetizer took a long time so we assume it was rung in late, about 20 min past ordering everything server came back and needed to be reminded what we ordered. First round of drinks were empty for a long time before we were asked if we’d like another, asked for a straw and never got one, overall felt like the back servers were the ones really taking care of us. We don’t usually complain but we looked forward to dining at a James Beard winning restaurant and were very disappointed by the level of service.

    A Denver-based friend recommended this rest. During my visit to Denver. This eldest really disappointed me. The service was mediocre. The server was nice but his appreciation of the details of the menu was poor. He repeatedly used the term “good acidity” for all dishes. The bacon appetiser was horrible. It was overcooked, dry, and stringy and had no taste. DO NOT ORDER! The porc chop was better but nothing to write home about. We had to request bread on three occasions to receive a slice. The goat cheese puff pastry was good. The other two types were tasteless. The wine was ok but the bottle was not presented and I was not asked to taste before it was poured. It came in a glass from the bar. We sat outside. My chair was over a vent hole and I regularly received spurts of steam and heat. Overall, terribly disappointing for my only night in Denver.

    Great server, food was delicious. Went for our anniversary dinner and they gave us a signed card by the staff congratulating us. 1st time going to Rioja but will definitely be going back. My wife had the artichoke tortellini and I had the octopus - both were excellent. The bacon to start off was amazing and the desserts we finished with just made the night perfect

    We had never heard of Rioja and were looking for a tapas restaurant. They don't actually serve tapas but what they do serve is prepared excellent. They are proud of their food and drinks and the prices reflect that. Would go back again, but due to cost it may be awhile.

    Amazing! Excellent food, service and cozy interior. Go and you’ll be so glad you did! We loved the goat cheese tart, delicious breads, halibut , artichoke tortelloni. Everything was fabulous! Flavors balanced so well! Our server Sam was so helpful and a true pro! Can’t wait to go back soon! A beautiful restaurant and Chef has competed against Bobby Flay and is so talented! We are here before a show and pacing of everything was perfect.

    Such a gem of a restaurant in the Larimer Square area. Food is great, as well as the atmosphere.

    Meeting out of town family on a Sunday. Was good experience and noise level quiet enough we got to talk to each other easily. Would go again. My husband thought a limited menu but I was fine and loved dish I had
