Le Rio City Cafe est situé dans le magnifique quartier historique du Vieux Sacramento, donnant sur quelques-uns des monuments les plus importants à Sacramento. La rivière Sacramento court non loin de la terrasse, avec des vues spectaculaires sur le centre historique Tower Bridge et de la Ziggurat (pyramide). Le Rio City Cafe a ouvert ses portes en mai 1994. Food was quite good and didn’t take too long to arrive. Service was disappointing and on the sloppy side. Inattentive, abrupt and void of personality.

Great late lunch experience! We stayed longer than expected due to an intense, passing storm, but not a bad place to hang out and wait out the rain.

Great location. Service was exceptional. Perfect environment for a bite and a catch up with friends. Food and Drinks were phenomenal. We will be back.

Very nice server. The food was fine but nothing over the top. They sat us very close to a large noisy group. The restaurant was not full so better planning perhaps would have made it nicer for all guests. The carpet is showing its age.

Our second visit and the food was very good as we expected. Our table was outside along the edge overlooking the water and early evening sunset. A good place to people watch along the pier. We had good service from our server, and overall it was a nice experience. We will return again when we want to go on a cruise, or comedy show across the street.

got there at 1:30 for brunch and they didn’t have the brunch menu anymore even though brunch is supposed to be served till 2. Food was pretty good, just was not very much variety. Only 4 entree choices, our guy sever was great though !

Sat out on the patio. Area was dirty and dated. Bathrooms were a disaster. Overflowing garbage and broken soap dispensers. The food was OK, but not worth the price. I will not be going back.

We had a party of 5. The cafe easily accepted our extra guest. We requested Meagan to be our server and she graciously accepted. It was our daughter’s birthday. We ordered from the brunch menu. The Cafe was busy but the wait was not long. This is in fact due to the efficiency of our server and other staff. We feel we have found a jewel in the waterfront. Excellent food, excellent service, and reasonable priced. Can’t wait to go again!

Last night, at our early dinner on the patio, our waiter was friendly and attentive. Dinner was yummy. (Wish there could have been a non-garlic option for mashed potatoes, but multiple other sides were certainly available. ) Would come back on a non-Mardi Gras weekend. Parking and noise made the experience less enjoyable. Guessing a typical day would be much less challenging. Have been to this restaurant 4 times, always enjoying food and service.

My Significant Other and I came here to celebrate our Valentine's. It happened to be raining and the patio was tarped so the nice views were unfortunately obstructed ( Not Restaurants Fault). The Food was amazing! It was prepared well and extremely fast. Our Server was kind and present without being overbearing as it was more of an intimate setting (which is perfect). Afterwards we walked along the river and enjoyed Old Sacramento. Overall - it was a great vibe and definitely will be returning during the summer/spring so we can enjoy the views.

We dined early which was perfect there were only 3 couples celebrating Valentine’s Day ❤️. We were given one of the best seat by the patio. Heat machine was one. Thank you very much for a perfect celebration. And thank you for our great server Marissa you are the best!

Went here for an early bday - make sure to sit outside on the patio! Great view of the water. Lots of cocktails to choose from and the clam chowder and french dip were fabulous! Attentive wait staff - highly recommend!! One of the few restaurants where you can eat with a great view of the bridge and Sac River!

We meet about once a month (and done so for years) at Rio City - have to say, this visit was not one of our favorites. May have been understaffed but I've grown to find that excuse by restaurants a cop out - they are making their problems those of the customers - if restaurant can't be staffed, then reservations should be limited rather than stuffing people in and expect the service staff to cope. This may be the reason the food was not up to usual standards - I had the grilled steak to go with a salad - the steak was tough and lacked any kind of seasoning. Temperature wise, it was cooked as I asked for it - just poor quality meat IMHO. My companions meal (burger) was just ok and her fries, while not cold, had certainly been sitting around. Will give this place one more try next time, but they need to get their game back.

I have always enjoyed Rio City on my visits to Sacramento. It is nice sitting out on the heated patio looking at the river and the bridge. My server was friendly, helpful and efficient. I had the swordfish, and it was delicious. Then yummy peach cobbler. All good! Only downside was that half the patio was a very noisy private party.

I was really excited to check out Rio City Cafe, it wad recommended by a coworker but it was a complete disappointment. Other than the nice view, the food and service was subpar. Food was very bland and flavorless. Service was nearly unwelcoming after having our waitress avoid us after my wife had made eye contact and waved her down. Will not be back. DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND. VERY OVERPRICED FOR THE LEVEL QUALITY.

My girlfriend of 68 years come here to celebrate our Birthdays, this was our 75 th birthday celebration. When I made the reservation , I wrote in special notes that we were celebrating our 75 th Birthdays. Not 1 Happy Birthday from the staff, until we said it was our birthdays. Then no candle , no discount on desert. I guess you don’t do that anymore, as this is the 2nd year this has happened . We love your restraunt and have come come for many, many years but we were very disappointed as we could have gone somewhere else that would have celebrated us. L and V

Went as part of “Dine Downtown Sacramento “. Set price for 3 courses. Had an add on appetizer, salad, main and desert. Very satisfied with service and food. Lemon Cake desert was the highlight. Managed to compliment the kitchen staff on my way out. We will definitely make a return visit.

Wonderful dinner for the Dine Downtown special. Clam chowder, chicken, and fillet were all very good. We had a cozy seat by the fireplace. Very good service too.

First time at Rio City Cafe. We went for Dine Downtown 2024. Our meals were delicious, my filet tender. Our server, Meagan, was excellent! Go try this restaurant. You will leave happy!

The food was good and plentiful. I was unable to finish mine. I had the crab melt and it was delicious. It was a little spicy and the edges of the baguette were nice and crunchy just like I like. The plate also included French fries and coleslaw; it was a lot of food. The waitress could have been a little more attentive but overall it was great.

We had an early dinner on New Years Eve when there were few people in the restaurant. The waiter had a casual, friendly schtick going while we were there. I ordered the mahi mahi and my dining companion ordered the swordfish. Our meals were delivered by a different staff person. The mahi mahi was overcooked and dry, but our waiter did not come back by our table until after we were finished eating. He noticed that I had not finished the fish. I told him then that the mahi mahi was overcooked. He made an excuse rather than apologize or offer to compensate us in some way. The bill came to $140 for two drinks, two dinners, and two desserts. There are a few other places that we dine at in Sacramento where the food is exceptional for a similar cost. A $37 fish entree should be properly cooked, and if it is not, the wait staff should pay attention and make it right.

Dinner was good but veggies were a little on the cold side . Mashed potatoes a bit cool as well. Seafood pasta did not really have as much seafood in it as the menu indicated. Desserts were amazing. Service was great. Cheesy bread was delicious as usual. I would go back . I would just try something else. I would also send my plate back if not hot. It was not busy at all for a Saturday night. There is some guy out in front of the walkway to get to the restaurant that was annoying people. He was dancing and probably trying to get money but he walked into us as we passed and that is not cool ! This could have taken away some of the business that night ?

This is our second visit, we came in February 2023, had an amazing meal, so we decided to come back. This visit was even better. We had an amazing server, I believe it was Megan, who was one of the top servers we’ve ever had at a restaurant. Super tuned into our needs and the timing of the meal. Food was HOT which tells me they take pride in their food and it’s not sitting in the back under a warming plate. Make sure you get the cheesy bread!

This was my second visit. The first was a lazy summer afternoon with few patrons; excellent faire and good service. This time, a busy holiday with a full house. The food was first rate, we wanted for nothing. Service was prompt and friendly and we were very comfortable on the enclosed back patio on a sunny day. I recommend for good dining in a fine establishment and afterward it's nice to checkout some of the shops.

We have enjoyed this restaurant in the past but my mahi mahi was terrible with cold rice and veggies. With prices this high it was very disappointing.
