Experience award-winning fine dining in a modern, contemporary setting while supporting our highly talented students on their journey to professional excellence. Restaurant at Birmingham College of Food offers top quality food and service delivered by students training on our chef, food service courses under the guidance of industry expert tutors at University College Birmingham.

Restaurant provides exceptional value for money for high levels of cooking, service, creative flair and quality seasonal produce. Our Dinner Menu might include delicious fish and shellfish, premium beef, lamb, poultry or game, and imaginative vegetarian dishes. This runs alongside a lunchtime menu providing excellent value for money. The restaurant also draws on a dedicated pastry section where our skilled student chefs produce an array of elegant desserts.

We offer menus to suit you and your guests, this can be for birthdays, Holy Communions, special anniversaries, we are here to help. Excellent place to get good quality food and drink whilst helping the chefs and staff of the future … there should be more of this! We both had pork cheek starter followed by duck. The starter was very well cooked, with excellent accompaniments of apple purée, celeriac and a sauce. Duck was superb, a sauce to die for and really well made Bon Bon. Wine choices were good AND local … highly recommended if you’re local king for something other than curry in Birmingham

I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. It is such a hidden gem in the city centre. The service was amazing and the food was incredible. Such good value for money and will definitely be returning

Loved the food. Service was ok but we were not asked if we wanted tea or coffee at the end of our meal. Also nobody came over to check if our meal was okay. I understand that the young people who served us were training. However their trainers should have been telling them what they had to do, I would have thought. There were a couple of what seemed to be more experienced staff there who we though were supervising the students. The big problem for me was when we came to pay. I presented cash and was told that it was a cashless restaurant. Luckily I had my credit card with me so paid with that. I do think you need to inform people beforehand that they cant pay by cash. Having said all that we did enjoy our visit and will come again.

We were shown to our table by a friendly polite young man. We had a hiccup when drinks arrived, my friend had ordered a rose wine and was given a white, she didn`t want to cause a fuss, so accepted it, as our server seemed to be having trouble with writing out the order, I was a little disappointed with the tomato tart, it was really flavorsome, however the pastry was tough. Also on the mains, the salmon was a little dry. However my lemon sponge was excellent. Such a shame the littke niggles as we dine here regularly and all of the food is normally fabulous. All of he students were friendly, polite and helpful, especially Keaton, who adjusted our wobbly table.

Fabulous three course meal in a very pleasant and informal setting. Students did a great job and the standard of food was top class. Incredible value too! This was the perfect place for our work reunion and we plan to come back next year. Thank you so much

We were greeted by a very professional young lady and shown to our table. The table students, were, again, professional if a little shy. Everything was done as expected. The food was delicious , well presented and served. It was all we have come to expect from UCB restsurant. I come fairly often and will continue to do so. Well done everyone
