República is a tasting menu-only restaurant.
We offer a 7-course menu at $128 or a 10-course menu at $150 per person.

James Beard-nominated, Chef's Prix Fixe Tasting Experience by Executive Chef Jose Camarena, recontextualizes Mexican cuisine and culture through Storytelling.

We exclusively offer a prix fixe tasting menu experience, with 7-Course and a 10-Course options. Both experiences are meant to honor the complex history that created each dish, as well as leave a lasting impact on all those who taste this beautiful food and listen to our stories.

We kindly require all guests to disclose all dietary restrictions and allergies prior to their reservation. We are unable to accommodate allergies to nightshades, chile, allium, rice . Additionally we are not a gluten free kitchen and are unable to provide nut and seed free diners.

The moment you step inside you are transported. The atmosphere, the service, oh my and the food, is top notch. My parents, husband, and I were celebrating our anniversaries together and Republica made it a night to remember.

Easily the best meal I’ve had in Portland. There are many wonderful places: Oma’s, Coquine, Ava Genes, Tusk… and the meal here was superb.

Not sure what all the hype is about. The food was just ok, servings were tiny and wine pours equivalent to a winery wine tasting. It felt like a modern art gallery where the “artist” draws a line on a piece of paper and all the wealthy non-artists agree that it’s just AMAZING! As a chef I was actually insulted at the silly plating, poor knife skills, nonsensical direction and over the top “stories” with every plate. Very unimpressed

Our dinner and experience were excellent. I highly recommended if you are looking for a fantastic experience. The food was unique and very tasteful. The presentation was as enjoyable as the food and my husband said the cocktails were the best he has ever had.

This place was legit artistry in the culinary form. Insane knowledge and service from our waiter. Every course was a story, an art piece with fantastic flavor. I would highly recommend

This is our fave prie fixe restaurant. We've been there twice. The service is really good. The meals are filling. I don't like octopus, but the octopus they served was really good and I ate the whole thing. If you haven't been there, you should save up and go at least once.

What an incredible spot for our anniversary! My husband and I indulged in a ten-course chef's selection. It was his first time experiencing a chef's course, and it was quite the feast! Huge thanks to the chef and the team for making it memorable!

There is an emphasis on EXPERIENCE. It is such a special one of a kind restaurant where you really let go of the reins and let the chef take you on a journey. The only thing you have to do is show up and trust the chef - and maybe pick something out from the drink menu, but even then you can opt for a drink pairing and not have to worry about it at all! The food was incredible, every dish had me scraping the plate and wishing I could lick it clean (honestly if it wasn’t an open kitchen I would have). I definitely had favorite dishes of the night, but all of them were so unique and surprising, and best of all the dishes told us stories of Mexico - not THE story of Mexico, because as the meal showed me there are endless sides to the stories of Mexico. I sometimes forget how important (and integrated) storytelling is to food and community. But here I am babbling on, the food was incredible and I am so grateful to have the creative minds (and hands and tastebuds) of the Republica Chefs and crew in Portland!

I celebrated my birthday at Republica with a friend last night. We enjoyed the 10 course tasting menu, the wine pairing, plus a cocktail each. The food was imaginative, beautiful, and most importantly, flavorful! Each dish was presented with a brief history. The service team was knowledgeable, welcoming, and a lot of fun. Who says fine dining needs to be stuffy? I’m still blown away by the attention to detail in every aspect of this restaurant. Next time I’m in a mood for a splurge, I’ll happily return!
