Located just a few meters from the Duomo in Florence, Regina Bistecca is a restaurant dedicated to the true “bistecca alla fiorentina” and traditional Florentine food culture.
For over 140 years the same address has been the location for the antiquarian bookseller Gonnelli, which has been in the same family for four generations and has now relocated.
Although nowadays offering something different, the objective was to preserve and maintain the unique atmosphere of a historical place in which to offer a gratifying experience merging food, art, and history.

The steak was incredible our server was extremely helpful in selecting the wine to pair with our steak. I would recommend everyone make this a priority when selecting dinner options in Florence.

Quite possibly the worst piece of meat we’ve ever been served , no exaggeration. The “ show” is entertaining ( several large t bones are presented on a board for you to examine and select ) but it far from delivers. The steak had so much grizzle that it was literally impossible to chew. A waiter became slightly indignant when we called him, saying that we selected the wrong steak and that we should have chosen a more expensive cut. We chose the Fresona , which is there 2nd most expensive cut. The waiter only took 30 euro off our bill and refused to take off the entire amount. Very disappointing last meal in Florence. There are so many quality Trattorias in Florence , I recommend staying away from this tourist trap.

Wonderful experience. Staff were courteous and prompt. Food is excellent. I had a filet of beef medium rare. Done to perfection. The addition of the chive butter made it even more delicious. Generous glass of Savignon served properly chilled. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience in Florence.

With such high expectations entering the restaurant, I thought I had set myself up for disappointment. Suffice it to say we were blown away, not just by the steak (which was divine), but the ambiance, exemplary service and value (all things considered). Back to the steak though, it was melt on your mouth good. Total ambrosia.

Excellent meal with excellent staff. Best steak we’ve ever had and loved our pasta course too which wasn’t quite pasta! The bread to accompany it was the best we’ve had in Italy and fabulous wine recommendations! Will return!!

We opted for the ribeye Chianina for two, it was very good; side dish potato gratin with truffle was delicious. Server was excellent, however, it felt a bit rushed. Overall, I’d say it is overhyped for what it is. We have many world class steakhouses where we live (Las Vegas) and this seems sort of average in comparison.

La comida fue espectacular, solo que nos atendió una chica que no hablaba ingles ni español, lo cual hizo difícil y hasta un poco incómoda la experiencia al no poder comunicarnos como los otros meseros. Incluso otra cliente se ofreció a ayudarnos al ver qué nos nos entendíamos.

Service was friendly but uninterested. The meat was under average. The sides where really bad to unbeatable. The pricing is average for the type of meal - but taking the quality and presentation into account - overpriced. Locals sit in the back (grand room) - tourists alongside the runway. We left without a dessert because the whole experience lead to a hard break. We can not recommend this place.
