The private room comfortably seats up to 32 guests, and tables can be arranged to fit your specific needs. The room can be closed off from the main area for privacy or left open for a more festive, casual atmosphere. The tables can be dressed up or down, while the room can also be decorated for your occasion. The large screen, smart TV, is perfect for business presentations or displaying photographs and slide shows. The room is ideal for any occasion that brings together large groups wanting to celebrate. I attended on a Tuesday evening and was pleasantly surprised to learn that draft beers were $5 all day and happy hour appetizer price of $10 was also extended all evening vs. the normal 4-6pm timeframe. There were 3 of us and we all ordered different dishes…..each was excellent. We shared two appetizers (fried calamari and tempura shrimp/vegetables) which were also outstanding. Service was attentive and helpful when needed. I I’ll definitely be going back to try other entrees and appetizers!

Awful experience! My wife and I waited for over two hours after ordering at Reel on Mother's Day. When we inquired about the delay, the waiter admitted they lost our order ticket. This experience was awful, and I cannot recommend dining here.

Conflicted about this establishment because the food is really good, but I feel like I’m in an episode of Kitchen Nightmares every time I go. The kitchen staff are yelling at each other and it’s an open design so everyone in the restaurant can hear and see it. They have no food expeditor role that knows wtf they are doing. The wait staff are very nice and I feel bad for them because the kitchen debacle is out of their control. It took us over an hour to get our food and that was after we were there for 20 minutes before someone came to take orders. Good food, but they need Ramsey to come in there and crack some heads.

We scheduled Mothers Day brunch through OpenTable. Server was rude. Place was under-staffed. After 1 hour 30 minutes never got food and kitchen could not even tell us when we would get food — so we cancelled the order and left. It ruined Mother’s Day. Will never recommend or go there again.

Overwhelmed is how I would describe Reel. We were one of the first tables to be sat for brunch on Sunday. We had a large reservation. 2 hours later we got our food. Several items had to be sent back due to being incorrect. Waited forever on drinks. I noticed people at other tables getting up and leaving due to the wait. Our server did a decent job and the food was good when it finally I arrived. I just think they didn’t have the staffing or the kitchen was a mess. If they can’t handle a Sunday morning I would hate to see this place on a Friday night.

Unfortunately they were severly understaffed this evening. We waited 51 mins to be seated, even though we had an open table reservation. We waited 30 minutes to even get up to the hostess desk, which was being manned periodically by a waitress. I'm pretty sure they didnt actually restrict reservations like they should have, which compounded the problem and brought more people. Service was slow at the table and the food took a while to come out. I will say the seafood was excellent though. I think it was probably an off night, but massively wasted our time and should not have happened.

Our meal at REEL was delicious. We had a big group and our food came out wonderfully. Even our two boys who are picky eaters found something to love. The homemade potatoe chip appetizer with crab is a must!

Unfortunately they were short multiple servers and cooks. Yet seems they were still taking walk-ins. We had a 7pm res. Seated right away. 30 min to get drinks and 50 min to get the app. Another 40 to get the main dish. It was good but not good enough to go through that again. Guess not the best experience for our first visit.

Food was great..we requested the table for 2 at the wine cellar area and we were seated by the bar at a table for 2….the whole time we were there..no one was seated at the wine cellar table as we were only seated 10 feet way from that area. Our server was also the bartender…maybe short staff?? We ordered a half dozen oysters and they didn’t arrive until our meal was also delivered, which was very disappointing. This was our first disappointment in having dinner at Reel.

I've been here twice and every time the food is just okay. Went for Easter the most recent and the host was rolling silverware and barely said hi. We had to wait about 5 minutes, because after she rolled, she went to the table. IRONY in all this, she didn't give us silverware when we finally sat down. Everyone was nice, just slow to be tended. We waited about 10 minutes to be greeted/acknowledged by a server. Not our favorite place, but somewhere we will continue to come if we want seafood and don't want to drive.

Nice early dinner. Only a few diners in the place, as we were pretty early, but got top-notch service. Courses came out timely, well prepared and tasty. Would go again. Only downside is parking....downtown Woodstock can be a bear.

Love the selection of food choices. Beer prices are higher than most places. Service was a little slow this night but other nights not so bad. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food. Thanks for recognizing a birthday at the table.

The first thing that struck me was the restaurant wasn’t very full, only two tables with guests. They sit our party of 4 right next to one of the tables, then the next party to come in right next to us. We ended up with four full tables all bunched together. Why you ask, because they only had one server. I ordered the triple lunch dish. They brought out the soup first, then the salad, and no food for the rest of the table. It took a long time for our food to come because, there was only one cook in the kitchen. My chowder was good, but not too New England style. The salad was good and I had a half salmon sandwich which was very good. My friends had the black cod salad and she enjoyed it, her husband got the shrimp tacos and said they were okay, but wouldn’t get them again. My husband had the fish sandwich and said there was more breading than fish and the fries were just mediocre. Our server truly worked hard and was doing his best. Very polite and did a good job but he was overworked.

I am a frequent flier at The Reel restaurant for a variety of reasons and it starts with ownership. Karen the owner (last name left off to protect the innocent) is the most hands on proprietor I have ever met. She works the reception desk, works the floor meeting and greeting and gets her hands dirty in the kitchen. Her service team is always on point and the kitchen never fails to deliver one outstanding entree after another, no matter what day of the week. I have no vested interest in The Reel restaurant except it’s my go to place in Woodstock for an outstanding dinner and to share a delightful evening with my guests. Marty Blake

We were there early on a Saturday evening before a 7 pm show. The restaurant was almost empty at 530 pm and yet, it took the bartender 15 minutes to pour a beer and make one mixed drink. We proceeded to wait 30 minutes for a shrimp cocktail - yes, just some shrimp on a plate with a small bowl of tartar sauce. It took an hour to be served our food. The food was ok - not bad, but certainly nothing special. By the time we left, the restaurant was filling up and everyone appeared to be waiting a long time for food. It wasn't the waiter. He was relatively attentive and apologetic. I would NOT recommend this restaurant. A long wait for mediocre food sums it up.

This was a great find in downtown Woodstock. The food was excellent. Really enjoyed the calamari and the blackened redfish was excellent. Server was very attentive. An overall great experience.

Very disappointed tonite. Reservations for 6:30 - we were promptly seated in a very full dining room. We waited 10 minutes before server came for drink orders but were ok with that because of the crowd. We ordered drinks and an appetizer - drinks came appropriately but the appetizer took an hour to get to us. Our server explained there were kitchen issues. After putting in our dinner order - prior to receiving the appetizer - we waited another hour for the wrong order to come out. After 2 hours with no dinner, we left the restaurant. We have been here before and enjoyed our dinner but it will be a long time before we return. Such a shame that the restaurant was not prepared for a busy night. We understand there were a few other walk outs.

We have visited Reel several times and the food is pretty good. If you’re looking for a Po boy, chowder and a beer, they’re fine. Their “hole in the wall” decor and atmosphere is appropriate for that, but insufficient for fine dining and their prices. Service is not great. Waiter didn’t know the specials, salads arrived before the appetizers and entree came much later.

It's pure chaos. Seriously if you have HOURS to spend go there. Had a reservation and never got seated. People were walking out. The staff was horrible and was sooooo overwhelmed. No manager no one helping ot was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!

I have a story to tell you, but let’s start with the conclusion: I will never set foot in this restaurant ever again. Here’s why: it was a Saturday, and the restaurant was slammed as most are in Woodstock at this time. However, the cracks started to show quickly. Our waiter had at least six tables, my wife’s drink order he forgot, and the one he remembered still took 15 minutes to arrive. the table next to us had arrived one hour earlier and we’re eagerly staring at the kitchen, hoping their food would arrive. (Ultimately an hour after we sat down, they left.) We saw one table that sat down 30 minutes after us receive their entrées. When we arrived, the bar was empty and by the time I was at the hostess stand,it was full and each person there had an entrée plate in front of them. The expo was having to take plates to tables. Two people behind me were in line to complain who had also previously bieen seated The five of us I had a unique situation I that I needed to go pick up my daughter from a birthday party at a friends house. For a 6:30 reservation, it should not have been difficult to eat my food and leave everyone else there by 8 o’clock. This isn’t Barcelona where a dinner should take 4 hours. When it was clear that the restaurant was in so much chaos that there was no chance of getting my food by this time, I went to the host stand and politely asked them to take my food off our ticket, if it had not yet begun to be prepared by the kitchen. It was at this point that I was spoken to, and glared at, in a way that I can’t ever recall happening. When my request was rejected, I stated that we had not not seen our waiter for 20 to 30 minutes, which was true, and I was told that cant be true. (We did not see him for another 10 minutes after this either). How bad does it have to be that people seated at tables have to go up to the stand to be seen? The whole experience was a disaster. Don’t go here. Maybe on a Tuesday if you’re feeling lucky.

Only one diner there at noon Saturday--eyebrows up--but by 1:00, many visitors to Main Street/Woodstock were waiting for tables! Guessing most folks wanted a late lunch. Spectacular service: our waiter had a talent for timing--present and gracious when we needed him, invisible while we chatted over one perfectly prepared salmon filet and one really "crabby" crab cake! Portions are not huge but beautifully presented. Prices range from the low teens to the low $30's, so tasty dishes are available for everyone. The space is quite large, could benefit from more textural decor--draped fishing nets, for instance, to break the distance. Overall, outstanding; you'll love it!

Another outstanding dinner at Woodstock’s perfect restaurant for dining with a date or just wanting to sit …. and talk to yourself. The salmon was perfectly prepared, coupled with the mash potatoes and asparagus. My date, who doesn’t like fish had a blast with her steak. The drink selection was solid and had dessert, paid the price on the scale the following day. Karen, the owner always has time to say hello and chat. Risotto was very good, our waiter Simi was great, and appreciated the yummy complimentary bread pudding for our anniversary!

We were seated in a high traffic area near where the servers walk out food and it was a busy night. I should have requested a different table but I know they try to make sure all servers are covered appropriately. Our server was very pleasant but forgot a couple of our requests for additional crackers, etc. Table next to us arrived after us and were served their food first. Our wait for food took longer than it should have. We like Reel despite being hit with bad press and will go back but I will make sure we don’t sit close to high traffic. We typically sit at the bar but we had mom with us for her birthday. Server gave her a free dessert to celebrate which was very nice and tasted great!

Reel Seafood is a “top shelf” dining establishment that never disappointments. David, the General Manager, meets you at the door and the owner, Karen visits to see how you are doing …. while the wait staff doesn’t miss a beat … the restaurant is “second to none”.
