Quite crowded around our slot (7.15 PM), all a bit hectic until things calmed down ~half an hour later. Food was fine, but lacked a bit of finesse. Didnt try any fish or seafood though. Bigger variety of Mocktails would be appreciated.

Service at the bar was slow as molasses. Bartender in training was very nice and helpful but not allowed to do anything. The bar was understaffed. Food good but overpriced. More than $4 for an East Coast oyster is gouging even for NYC.

Our meal was very good.Our server wonderful and the additional effort to provide us with fries post Happy hour was so appreciated. And who does not love cotton candy. There is a truly festive, fun atmosphere.

Our waiter was outstanding, he offered quite a few suggestions on what to order. We enjoyed the garlic bread, sea bass, crab cake and calamari. It started getting loud and difficult to hear each other across the table as the restaurant filled up, but we were still able to have a relatively decent conversation without shouting. I'll go back!

Drinks were excellent. Waiter and Maitre d very nice. Should not have an item in the menu or suggest it (sushi), if the chef did not show up that day. Food was good, but not as good as we were expecting based on reviews we read. We, unfortunately, had a seat right near Maitre D station and he and the hostess were chatting pretty loudly.

Noisy; Our particular waitperson was awful, but others were very helpful when we were able to get their attention. Otherwise, love the place and the food is wonderful.

The place is beautifully decorated and spacious. Also, convenient if going to City Center or Carnegie Hall. Open late, too. The night we were there, there was a terrific singer-piano player. Service was excellent, perfect. The food however was just OK. Chinese chopped salad was very good , but the pasta with seafood was just blah. Sauce was too watery and the presentation was very plain. The black cod was not fresh tasting. Because of all the positives, I will go again but I will order more "foolproof" entrees, like a steak or a burger.

Ultra-fresh salmon perfectly cooked medium with a teaspoon of wild mushrooms, 4 spears of asparagus and 2 tablespoons of cauliflower purée for $38. Outstanding service and located across 7th Avenue from Carnegie Hall. Try to be seated in the small quiet room to the right of the front door. A comfortable, convenient place for dinner before a concert.

The food at Redeye is great but it's not cheap. We paid nearly $300 dollars for two of us and that was without any alcohol (and only one of had three courses) It is a nice building though and the staff were generally friendly - the manager even took time to come over and say hello and thank us for our custom. However our waitress was a little curt and brought us our bill before we asked for it, which annoyingly meant we forgot to ask for the 15% discount given to us by our hotel who had recommended the restaurant to us in the first place - and given the high prices it slightly marred an otherwise nice evening.

We had a group of 10 meet at the Redeye prior to a concert at Carnegie. The Redeye has a grand and lively atmosphere, which felt like it put everyone in a festive mood for the evening. The service was lovely and timely, the meals were delicious, and our group commented on what a perfect choice it ended up being to kick off our night. Thank you!

Great location and fun atmosphere. Food and service were very good. My only complaint is the $19 espresso martini which was very sub par. Seemed like it was a pre made mix out of a bottle not crafted at the bar. Otherwise the Hostess was very nice and accommodating ,service was fast and food was good.

Overpriced. Much better options in mid-town at this price level. Was an underwhelming $450 dinner for 5. Their “signature” coconut shrimp dish was all show and not much substance. Sushi was just average. Fish entrees and brick chicken were very good. Waitstaff was not as attentive as I would like for a $$$ meal. Waited didn’t pour wine refills and we had to ask for more water each time. Had a similar priced meal at Quality Bistro and that was a way better value & experience. Another pet peeve - we were one of the first tables seated for dinner and was put in the back corner next to waitstaff prep area rather than at an open booth in middle of restaurant. Why? Complimentary fresh baked cookies and cotton candy for our birthday girl was a very nice touch.
