Prices are now astronomical. Entrees no longer includes a side. $100 for a good sized prime rib on a bone, $40 for a shrimp cocktail. WTF? Eddie V's is a better restaurant and more reasonably priced.

Our server got the salads wrong, and we had an argument over them, and she decided not to take it off the bill. Our bill was over $800, and this would be the least she could do. However, she did Hussle and try to make everything right. We go there often, and this was the first time we had a problem. The food is always good but expensive. Turns out Steak 48 would have been a less bill from comparison and a distinct experience. I will go back to Steak 48 for an expensive meal.

Great Food, very good Crab Legs and Prime Rib, the Lamb Chops were a little tough and hard to eat, a lot of bone and very little meat. Great Service, we had the best Booth in the Restaurant. Love the Old School charm, I just feel the prices went up a lot. The Green Goddess Salad was also excellent.

Salad was great. Service was fine. Downhill from there. Very disappointed in overdone steaks, cold $17 sides all of it.

Very nice old-school restaurant/bar. We ordered the 8oz prime rib & chicken pot pie. Everything is a le carte. Both entrees were delicious plus we ordered the house salad. We had 2 cocktails, salad, and 2 entrees the bill came close to two hundred dollars plus tip. Can be pricey but we will return to try another dish.

A wonderful experience as always. The lobster bisque and green goddess salad are a must to start, it’s enough to split between 2 if each of you are getting an 8oz steak.

I have been coming to this restaurant since it opened in the middle 1980s. The quality of the food has always been excellent but last night I was disappointed when I tasted their special salad with green goddess dressing in the past that has been made and the lettuce was fresh last night, it was already served up and obviously been made before and honestly was the worst of all times I’ve eaten there. The flame and double baked potato were definitely up to standard and the new vanilla bread pudding dessert was superb.

We had a wonderful Anniversary lunch at Red Tracton's this past week. The food, drink, service and ambience were all top-notch! I definitely recommend the Exceptionale Salad which is easily enough for two people. Our food and drinks were only exceeded by the fantastic service by Adrienne...she is delightful and excellent as a server. All in all, a great lunch experience! Thank you.

So bummed , Red’s is one our favorite places. We felt rushed right from the time we sat down, server had only a few tables but seemed very rushed and erratic. She wasn’t rude at all but not pleasant either. Prices have gone up again. While telling us the specials, she confirmed that they had prime rib that comes with a bake potato. I ordered the 14 oz. Prime rib and bake potato. She asked if I wanted sour cream, cheese and green onions. Usually they would all come on the side so you can add what you like. This came preloaded with way too much sour cream. And then I find out that the potato is extra. No big deal but wrong message was given. Food was only mediocre at best. I have no problem spending money on a great meal. This was not a great meal.

Randi is our and has always been our server. She’s terrific. We love Thursday night turkey dinner . Traditional Thanksgiving feast with all the trimmings. Love this place and loved it years ago in the San Fernando valley. So happy they are now in the Mar area. Probably one of our favs in California.

My wife and I have now dined at Red Tracton's five times. The first two times were excellent, but the third time was just okay, the fourth not so good, and last night's experience was also just okay. After the fourth visit, we were considering not dining here again. The rooms off the main dinning area tend to be cold. Given the price, one would expect top-notch food. However, the prime rib had a refrigerator taste to it, leading me to believe it was precooked, refrigerated, and reheated before being served. The bread is good, although the butter tasted of refrigerator odor. I appreciate fine dining, and while Red Tracton's charges for it, I feel they don't always deliver. Perhaps it's transformed from a refined dining establishment to more of a trackside drinking hole that has lost its way.

Prices at red tractons are astronomical so be prepared. But, you get a very large portion that is shareable or take home for later. My drink was made twice, not good. They must need new recipes or new bar tenders. Everything else there is good.

Sorry to say it was a huge disappointment. I had a reservation. We arrived on time and were first seated in what looked like an overflow room. I asked to be moved to the main room and was seated in a separate room - despite there being open tables in the main room. I was told that I had to specifically request the main room if I wanted to sit there. We ended up in the back room right in front of an elderly man who coughed loudly and in a most unpleasant way non-stop throughout our meal. Although the prime rib was the house special it was not a very good cut, especially for 75$, with lots of gooey fat in the center. On the bright side, the waitress was very friendly and checked in with us regarding the food. I will not be going back for a meal.

Wonderful place to find, the service is outstanding, and the piano bar is so entertaining. One of our favorite places to dine. The French Onion soup was lukewarm e the 10oz NY was greasually.

The food was bland and not very tasteful (as it had been before). Prices have jumped significantly, and the food quality comes nowhere near the price. Lots of better choices out there!

Made dinner reservations but was seated in the bar. Bar was loud as there were groups of people celebrating (looked like fun). Not really sure why with dinner reservations we were seated in the bar. Food was pretty good. Service was outstanding.

I always choose Red Tracton’s for celebrations. Can’t beat the quality of drinks and food with great Rat Pack ambience. On par with Musso and Frank in LA. Famous for their lobster bisque. A martini is a must!

Ordered the clam chowder soup, it was too salty to eat, I mentioned it to the server about the soup not being edible. Ordered the filet steak sandwich with fries, I received a slice of tomato and lettuce with my steak sandwich with NO fries, the server finally showed up after I ate my steak sandwich and ask how my meal was, I mentioned that it would of been nice to have fries with my meal instead of the lettuce and tomato. She looked a little puzzled about why I didn’t receive fries with my meal! Received my bill, there was no adjustment to my bill, until I talked to the manager about my meal, he did reduce my bill by removing the soup also the baked potato my son ordered for his meal. We were there two days earlier and the service and quality of the meal was great. It was definitely a one off for the service.

The server was very nice and our appetizer was amazing. The soup was also unbelievably delicious. Unfortunately, the bartender didn’t know how to make a mai tai and instead used whiskey instead of rum. I sent it back once and the second drink tasted like they just added some sweetener, it still smelled like whiskey, and tasted like whiskey. I ordered the prime rib blackened, and I couldn’t even eat it. The seasoning was so overpowering that it was horrible. I ordered it rare and it came medium rare but the seasoning was so bad I can’t even explain what it tasted like. I gave my son half of it and he couldn’t Eat it either and this kid can eat anything. I would absolutely try the restaurant again, but now I know not to order anything blackened, and I would just order white wine.

If you want a quality meal in a classic venue, this is the place. However, bring a lot of cash or a hefty credit card.. the menu is filled with wonderful choices. Our party of four enjoyed cocktails, a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, a salad and the lobster bisque, followed by a medium fillet, and three sides. We were surprised to find that some sides (potato) are no longer included with the dinner.. all a la carte. Service was friendly and helpful, informative and timely. The meal came out to about $180 each, a reach for most everyone. It is worth it to us for special occasions.
