At Red Rooster we want to share the story of Overtown with our guests, and offer a platform to celebrate local artists, musicians and culinary talents. We embrace today’s Overtown with a spirit of inclusiveness and community by hiring our family of staff from within the community; inspiring better eating through buying from local purveyors.

In 2022, Red Rooster was awarded the Bib Gourmand by the world’s most famous international restaurant rating guide, Michelin. The Bib Gourmand spotlights restaurants that showcase exceptional food at a great value.

We stood at the front for a long time. The bartender had to go find the waitress. She was friendly, but frazzled. Food was delicious. More Ala cart options would be nice. My husband had the Shrimp and grits, but asked if they sold individual pieces of chicken. The answer was no.

By far one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had! Our server, Carlos, was very attentive and the whole staff was welcoming.

The aesthetics are amazing, it is such a beautiful space so it was quite disappointing that when I spent my pre-birthday brunch there how disappointed I was in the food and the service. As a fan of the owner and chef I had high expectations and was sadly let down by the salmon avocado toast (especially as a fan of avocado toast and salmon). I will say that the cheese grits were actually not bad and it is sad to say that the best thing about the meal were the side of breakfast potatoes. While it was busy and as someone who was in the restaurant industry I am very understanding about these things but it was not so busy that our minor requests should have taken such an inordinate amount of time to be fulfilled and while the server seemed very nice the few times that she did come over to ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything, it seemed to be posed as a rhetorical question because she seemed to always be backing away to leave before we even answered. If I am near the Lyric theater again and am hungry I may consider going back for a salad and the potatoes if they're available any other time other than that, maybe not. It could have been an off day, and I understand that, but it was disappointing that there were so many missteps especially during my first visit there. Please visit for yourself because there is certainly a lot of good there and I hope that others have a better experience.

We had a nice time at red rooster, However, the drinks could be a little better./stronger. The food was fair. Not enough options on the menu. Our waiter was very polite and accommodating.

The menu needs to take a $10 decrease on each item. The food was good but standard quality. Over priced for the location as well. The service was horrible. Server was tired and too fast to walk away. The bus lady gossiped about her colleagues to us and was very unprofessional with her attitude and behavior. The restaurant is cute and that’s it.

Service was slow even with place almost empty. Drop drop of food delivered to table out of order. Oysters poorly shucked and inedible. A real disappointment
