Varun and his family invite you into their home and serve up Authentic Indian food. Varun was informative and Attentive without being overbearing. Hearing about his family's history in the restaurant industry from the 1930s, and their commitment to freshness and Authentic Indian Spices from India were all just enhancements to some of the Most Delicious Indian food I and my dinner guest have had, and we eat a lot of Indian food.
The Red Onion is a perfect b4 or after Theatre meal spot to the Public Theatre. We enJOYed the Bottomless Brunch.
The food was well seasoned, however not overly spicy (as some restaurants up the heat levels to mask imperfections) and as Varun explained freshly made. So yes it might take a lil longer for the food to arrive but well worth the wait.
The restaurant is cozy & beautiful. The stargazing, solar system ceiling and low volume background techno Indian music, along with the Welcome to my home vibe made for a delightful experience.
I highly recommend the Garlic Naan and the Chicken Wings Rechedo. We also had the Trio Kababs and Lamb Sheekh Kababs.
I could make a meal of the Garlic Naan and the TIkka Masala sauce.
