Red Light Ramen is a unique restaurant and cocktail bar that cultivates casual intimate dining experiences. A modern sustainable approach to traditional Japanese cuisine. We source our our produce locally and seasonally when possible. Our meats are hormone and antibiotic free. Our oils and vinegar's are organic.

Food was unbelievably tasty. Best we had in Nelson! Cocktail menu was creative. We could not have been happier with our meal. The service was lackluster. We didn’t interact with our server until it was time to order dinner, so we ordered drinks, apps and dinner all at once and it was delivered together. No one checked in with us really at all, so we never ordered a second drink or the dumplings which we thought about trying. Saved us money, but it was a missed opportunity for the restaurant! With some attention to the customer this place would be 5 stars without a doubt. So delicious.

Good food, awesome ambience. Server was awful. We had a reservation for 4, knocked on the door at 359 and the lone server dressed in slippers eventually came out and said we don’t open till 4 after ignoring our polite request to be seated. She was playing on her phone ignoring us for minutes, then proceeded to give more attitude throughout the meal. You should not be made to feel bad at a restaurant

Phoenix was great. She was managing the bar as well as serving and we came in with a party of 20. A few in our party had to go to a soccer game and she rush their orders and packed them to go so they could make it on time. Really exceptional drinks and food all around!

The food and staff at this restaurant is outstanding. The only negative component of our experience was a rude patron having a loud FaceTime conversation that dominated the sound scape of the restaurant for over half an hour. Obviously not their fault but annoying nonetheless.

I have a very restricted diet currently and I was so happy they could customize my meal so I could dine out. They did a great job as I had no side effects the next day! Yay, thank you so much!

Love everything about this place! Delicious food, great service, fun cocktail and wine list. Make it a point to come every time we are in Nelson.

We usually have a great experience here. I’m not sure if they are short-staffed, but we barely got served after our food was brought out. We were on the patio and it was a birthday celebration (which I noted when I booked it) and everyone felt like we were inconveniencing our server. Our drinks were empty for a very long time. Not sure if any one of us will return…. On another note, the food is SO good. Great cocktails and beer selection too. I’m hoping this was just a one-off and no one else has the same unfortunate experience.
