Housed in a landmark, heritage estate in Mexico City’s Roma Norte, Rayo Cocktail Bar blends dynamic, spirit-forward cocktails with exceptional, contemporary Mexican cuisine by fusing traditional flavors with inventive techniques.

*We have a tolerance of 15 minutes, if we have not received any notification we proceed to offer the table to the following diners*
Maximum parties are 8 people, we have a 30 mins tolerance to welcome the 8 people, if not, diners will be moved to other tables leaving that space for other reservations.

It’s a cool bar with an interesting concept. They let you taste the flavor profiles of 10 of their cocktails prior to ordering. However, the day I went it took 20-30 minutes per cocktail to come out. I basically had to order my next cocktail when they brought one out so by the time I was done the next one was on its way. Maybe it was an off night, not sure. The cocktails were good though.

Had a lovely few cocktails last night at Rayo. Reservation was pushed almost 20 minutes due to some service delays so I didn’t actually get a beverage until 9:42 even with a 9pm reservation. Bartenders were great. Drink menu by tasting was cool and I ended up enjoying all the cocktails I ordered (6, 4, and 1).

Ambience and concept were great. However, the service is extremely dismal if not non existent! It started from when we checked in for a reservation. There were people that came later that were taken in earlier. It took awhile before we got our drinks. They forgot our bottled water. We asked for a bar menu and never got it. Everytime we needed something after our drinks came in, we had to flag a server down. They comped our drinks because maybe they sensed our dissatisfaction.Our server just shrugged apologetically that they were busy but they didn't curculate. They concentrated on a few patrons. It is totally unacceptable esp if you are at this level! I usually do not write reviews on any social media platform but their lack of service made me write this. The drinks we had were ok, nothing special. I was just so turned off that I didn't want to order more. Well let's be honest, even if I wanted to order more the servers were out of sight. I was looking forward to this reservation but turned out to be such a huge dissapointment!

El servicio muy agradable, todo el personal muy amable, la comida y bebidas buenas, muy interesante que puedas probar algunos cocteles, los precios de estos van desde $200 ,

El bar tiene una recepción muy agradable por parte de los meseros pero un poco lenta. En cuanto al lugar creo que es bastante estándar y aun le falta bastante en mejorar su decoración. Los tragos son buenos aunque no son lo máximo que hbía leído o visto en redes sociales. Aún pueden pulir bastante para formar parte de the 50 Best.

while the concept of having customer try each drink in a small sample prior to ordering is interesting and cool factor 100, the flavours of droplets of “warm” concoction is left very little to desire. every droplet from the 9 bottles tasted terrible. this needs some work. we stuck with the wall of fame and it was just average at best.

This beautiful old home has an incredible rooftop bar that centers the senses of Mexico. Drinks and food were delicious. The garnish’s were off the hook. And the service was so generous.
