We are excited to welcome you to Rania, DC's hottest destination for modern Indian food. Tom Sietsema has called our food "some of the most inspired Indian cooking in DC." At Rania, we offer homage to the time-honored traditions, rich flavors, and spices of India in an intimate, luxurious setting. We look forward to sharing our vision with you!

Presenting sophisticated, highly acclaimed 4-course prix-fixe menu, with an upcoming debut of our chef's tasting menu.

Policies:
-Dress Code: Smart Business Casual. No shorts, athletic wear, or baseball caps are allowed.
-Children under 10 are not allowed in the main dining areas.
-Reservations are available for parties of up to 6 people.
- A non-refundable deposit of $30 per person is required for parties larger than 5.
-A 20% gratuity will be added to all parties 5 or more.

    Rania's 4-course ($90) pre-fixe menu experience, with the option to add wine pairings and cocktails as desired. Available Tuesdays thru Saturdays. Note: Due to the unique nature of our cuisine, we are unable to accommodate allergies to allium, nightshade, cumin, and coriander. However, we are pleased to inform you that we can cater to vegan diets and other dietary restrictions if notified beforehand. We take pride in our ability to provide a quality dining experience to our patrons and appreciate your understanding.

    Excellent food. The each dish had great, bold (but not overpowering) flavors. The drinks were skillfully handcraft and delivered with flare.

    Delicious, nom nom! Our server made some great recommendations and they were all spot on. Great portions and great to have the breads to sop up all the delicious sauces — because you want to waste none of it!!

    Dined at Rania for our wedding anniversary. Went on a Tuesday night and was able to get a reservation pretty easily. We were seated promptly but it took over 30 minutes for our server to come back and take our drink order which was annoying as it was our anniversary and we wanted to celebrate. Food was overall very good and did a nice job of being creative while still being "Indian". 90 a person was pretty good value and we left very full. Drinks were great when we finally got them. I would say it is probably the best indian in DC and slightly better than rasika or daru.

    It was an absolutely explosive experience! The flavors are unreal, both their cocktails and food! It was my husband's birthday and they made it really special.

    I am sorry to say, but this place is not worthy of a Michelin star. We went there for Mother's Day. The food is not better than any ordinary Indian restaurant, and in fact the spices were so overpowering that you could not taste the ingredients. Simply put, there was no balance. The service was not even remotely close to the level of sophistication for a Michelin star restaurant. The entire experience felt rushed, stressful, and the servers kept forgetting things. I would not recommend going to this place.

    Beautifully decorated with a serene ,the tables were adorned with mother-of-pearl inlays and heavy brass silverware. Service was impeccable and waiters were careful not to interrupt conversation. The highlight was the cuisine. Every ingredient could be tasted in the 4-course meal (you could pick one item out of 4 choices per course)and there were a couple of amuse-bouche that were equally delicious. What was particularly impressive to me was taking the Indian-inspired dishes to the next level. Kudos to the chef--we will return! I might add that I had previously been to this spot when it used to be Punjab Grill but there is no comparison in any way. It's no wonder why this restaurant rated a Michelin star!

    I will probably not go again. This is not worth a Michelin star especially for vegetarian dishes. This place has high noise level and their paneer was bland. It's hard to make a bad paneer dish but they managed to do so. There are lot of better options out there.

    This was our 10th Indian restaurant with at least one Michelin star. Alas, we finally learned limitations of Michelin ratings. On positive side, the other 9 were excellent! The entire experience was underwhelming and marked by undistinguished flavors, uninformed sommelier, and almost indifferent service.

    The cocktails were all very inventive and delicious. There were plenty of choices for people of all tastes and palettes. New inventive Indian dishes as well as familiar staples makes Rania an awesome choice.
