We are excited to welcome you to Rania, DC's hottest destination for modern Indian food. Tom Sietsema has called our food "some of the most inspired Indian cooking in DC." At Rania, we offer homage to the time-honored traditions, rich flavors, and spices of India in an intimate, luxurious setting. We look forward to sharing our vision with you!

Presenting sophisticated, highly acclaimed 4-course prix-fixe menu, with an upcoming debut of our chef's tasting menu.

Policies:
-Dress Code: Smart Business Casual. No shorts, athletic wear, or baseball caps are allowed.
-Children under 10 are not allowed in the main dining areas.
-Reservations are available for parties of up to 6 people.
- A non-refundable deposit of $30 per person is required for parties larger than 5.
-A 20% gratuity will be added to all parties 5 or more.

    Rania's 4-course ($90) pre-fixe menu experience, with the option to add wine pairings and cocktails as desired. Available Tuesdays thru Saturdays. Note: Due to the unique nature of our cuisine, we are unable to accommodate allergies to allium, nightshade, cumin, and coriander. However, we are pleased to inform you that we can cater to vegan diets and other dietary restrictions if notified beforehand. We take pride in our ability to provide a quality dining experience to our patrons and appreciate your understanding.

    The food and service was exceptional as usual. The combination and burst of flavors, the presentations were tremendously pleasing to palate and eyes. The service was great. The only downside is the noise level which was far too great for conversation and detracted from the overall positive experience. Please install sound absorbing panels.

    We've been going to Rania since it opened (fall 2022?) and the style of the menu keeps evolving, but always sensibly, for instance by offering smaller portions and making side dishes the choice of the kitchen. These days, each of four courses (plus an amuse bouche) have 4 choices, half (or all, in the case of dessert) of which are vegetarian. Always there has been a stellar chicken, morel and pickled wild mushroom dish in a truffle cream sauce. Also always a chickpea panisse, a little brick of chickpea puree, served with a slightly spicy sauce. Our most recent visit included the poached in brown butter lobster special, $40 extra and worth it. Desserts are good, but perhaps no longer as stellar as I remember them in the past--I wondered if the pastry chef had left. In summary, this is a beautiful restaurant with excellent food and service.

    Delicious and original Indian cuisine. Very impressed with the service and ambiance. Also, lots of fun and quirky cocktails. We will certainly be coming back!

    This restaurant is definitely one of the best places I’ve been in a long time. The service was impeccable. The waters/ waitresses were so attentive to our needs. The food flavorful and my drink was outstanding. I will definitely be returning. I had a margarita with this smoky flavor served inside of a beautiful box. After the first one my taste buds were craving a second.

    Amazing meal and experience. Cocktails on par with anything I have ever had. Service was very good just need to describe food when dropped. Also would like to hear more about the chef and have more of a story told with food. Worked many Michelin star kitchens and eaten at more. This one will stand out for a very long time thank you for such a memorable experience.

    Simply incredible brunch at Rania with its inventive menu and perhaps the best Indian restaurant we have eaten at in the US. With the option to choose from each course, we were able to try a few different items and each one of them is fantastic. Can’t wait to come back to DC just to eat here again. So deserving of its Michelin star!
