We had dinner at Rae’s on our last night of vacation at the Pink Shell Resort. We made an early reservation as we have a toddler. Hostess and waitress were very friendly and accommodating. In our opinion, the quality/portions of food did not match the price. We paid over $100 for a simple dinner. We found the food to be good, not great, but very overpriced.

Delicious as usual. Head chef came out to see how everything was. Olga. Our server was great too. Described the dishes well and helped with any questions. Checked on us throughout the meal just the right amount.

Our server failed to inform us hard alcohol beverages were available. The menu only had beer & wine listed. After our meal I realized there was a full bar downstairs so I asked our server if mixed drinks were available. She said yes but it’s best with this summer heat some people can’t deal or handle it. I said I will be the judge of that and who is she to not tell me. I had one beer and one wine so I was not intoxicated or rude so there was no reason for her to deny informing me. I told the manager later and he said the server should have offered this as soon as we were seated.

Food was enjoyable! Meatball appetizer was delicious. Great pasta entrees: Spaghetti Carbonara and Parpadelle Bolognese. The Beef Carpaccio was not as thin as it should have been or what we would have liked, but still tasted decent. Wish the ambiance was a little better, the overhead lighting was on full brightness and not very relaxed or romantic feeling. We’ve ate at Rae’s before and the lighting was always a little lower, which made for a nicer dinner dining experience especially during sunset.

Les prix sont excessifs 2 salades 1 entrée 2 verres de prosecco pour 90dollars!!!!de la folie et la Cecar salade que de la laitue heureusement le pain était bon 😜

Great service, great view and good food. My only complaint was that the credit card check presented to me didn't show the 18% service charge. I certainly hope this was an oversight since a person would be double tipping if they were unaware of the included service fee. The same thing happened at the pool bar earlier.

Nothing but tables and chairs, sort of odd. I asked the server if I could have the pasta dish without bacon, she said of course. It came with bacon, she said they made it with the bacon but she tried to pick the bacon out, really? She then asked if Im allergic to bacon, really? Never asked if I would prefer to have the dish remade. I didn’t send it back because my husband had his food and we would have ended up eating separately. Would not return… I wrote a side note to the restaurant and never received an acknowledgment.

Rae’s Italian on the Beach is pretty good for being a restaurant in a hotel. Service and food were very good. The only negative for me is the automatic adding of a 15% Service Charge to the bill. As we were a party of 2 this seemed a bit excessive. I know other restaurants do this but for much larger parties. Be careful when going to add an additional tip as you will be adding more than you think.
