Excellent food, but VERY expensive. Particularly for Queens. Service was bizarre (slow to get us drinks, tiny water glasses that had to be refilled every 5 seconds, our food got explained to us in detail when it was served - why? We ordered it, we know what it is).

Had a birthday dinner here on a Tuesday, so it was relatively quiet evening. Food was excellent and without a doubt deliciously prepared. I did have an issue with the waitress. Maybe it was a bad day for her, but she was not very welcoming, and at times, seemed quite impatient or annoyed with us. This kind of ruined our experience, but we tried to ignore it. The whole time, I was kind and friendly to her and the staff, even tipped her nicely since it was a quiet and rainy evening with only 3 tables including us. But boy did she end leave a sour taste in my mouth; on my way out I thanked her, but she didn't acknowledge us nor say thank us for coming. She simply ignored us and walked past us like we didn't exist. Did I tip bad if i tipped 22% or is she just prejudiced against asians? Because I saw a very different treatment on another table. I try not to care about these things in general, but if I'm spending +$250 for a dinner for two, I would hope for a pleasant experience, and not feel like I have to tip toe around my server and make sure I'm not upsetting her. Wouldn't want her as my server again, but definitely open to revisiting.

Nestled in a lovely walled space adorned with twinkly lights and equipped with heaters for comfort, our dining experience at R40 was nothing short of delightful. Opting for outdoor seating, we were immediately drawn to the inviting ambiance. To start, we indulged in the Warm Olives and Sweet Onion Focaccia appetizers, which set the tone for the culinary journey ahead. The olives were perfectly seasoned, and the focaccia was irresistibly fluffy with a subtle hint of sweetness. For the main course, we savored two standout dishes: the Skirt Steak and the Whole Branzino. The Skirt Steak was cooked to perfection, tender and bursting with flavor, while the Whole Branzino offered a delightful freshness. To accompany our meal, we opted for the refreshing and vibrant Patagonia Spritz. The combination of Lambrusco, Aperol, Orange, Strawberry, Lemon, and Club Soda was a symphony of flavors that perfectly complemented the dishes. What truly elevated our dining experience was the attentive service provided by the staff. From the moment we arrived until we left, the staff ensured that we felt welcomed and attended to, adding an extra layer of warmth to our evening. Overall, our experience at R40 was exceptional. From the charming outdoor ambiance to the delectable dishes, refreshing cocktails, and attentive service, every aspect of our dining experience was a true delight. We look forward to returning soon to indulge in more culinary delights!

We come pretty often as we live in LIC. Sunday nights are still new for them and they don’t have their A- team working in front of house. However the food was incredible as always.

We loved our meal at R40. The restaurant is a lovely, cozy space. The staff was helpful. The food was delicious. We were a party of 6 and had the focaccia special, a basket of empanadas and all were delicious. The main was the special rib eye which we shared with the addition of the skirt steak, fries and market salad. It was plenty of food and we loved everything we ate. They only had one dessert, a flourless cake which was very good. It is odd that they only have one choice and no coffee, only tea. Maybe they don't want people staying too long? We had two bottles of wine, as well. The lowest price on the list is $70. At the end, including tip it came to $135 each which for a restaurant like this is very fair. I will definitely add this to my list of favorites.

This is the second time at R40 and we loved it as much as we did the first time. All the dishes were delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambience was lovely. The dishes that we particularly loved were: Mussels & Spanish chorizo, the skirt steak with crispy yukon potatoes and butternut squash, and roasted Kabocha squash & chili garlic.

I was very grateful to have Courtney again as my Server for she once again excelled in providing efficient and top-notch quality service! She truly is superb in promptly and efficiently attending to every detail and request and in clearly and thoroughly communicating all relevant information pertaining to the menu. R40 is a gem for a guys' night out! The empanada basket is a true delight – each bite bursts with flavor, and the variety is impressive. The Paradilla is a carnivore's dream, offering a diverse selection of perfectly grilled meats. The cocktails are top-notch, with a range of options that won't disappoint. The waitress was attentive, enhancing our overall experience. R40 is a fantastic choice for a night with the guys – great food, drinks, and service make it a winner!

Cesar Salad had a fishy aftertaste. I know Cesar dressing has anchovies, but I've never had one with a fishy aftertaste. The Chimichurri had no flavor. It just tasted like olive oil: no salt or acidity. However, the drinks were delicious, and the ambiance was amazing. The focaccia was amazing, and so was the chocolate cake. The restaurant has potential, but paying $200+ for a good app and dessert isn't the best restaurant experience, regardless of how good those two portions of the meal were.

We enjoyed our time at R40. The staff was friendly, attentive and accommodated to our request for seat change. We didn't feel rushed and they allowed us to take our time during our meal. The food was nicely presented and well prepared.

Good food. Good Service. There were 2 orders we placed and they never came out. We asked about it and the waiter said we never ordered them. This was a little frustrating, He eventually put the order in. he felt back about the situation and gave us complimentary olives.

Our second time dining here and we loved the food. Lovely ambience, friendly and very good service. My favorites are the mussels with chorizo and the spinach and mushroom empanadas. Our friends who dined with us were very impressed. We look forward to returning.

R40 is a perfect location, near the Subway stop. The food was average at best and the wine pour was minimal for the $$$$. My companion and I had a nice dinner but we were ready to go explore other establishments rather that stay for another drink and dessert.

We loved the food. However, our server Courtney A was rude and dismissive. It ruined the entire experience of coming to this restaurant. Truly a shame that this person is a server at a restaurant that is otherwise doing it’s best.

Overall good! Pretty expensive, but solid food. Empanadas were great. Eggplant paccheri was ok, very smokey which was nice. but no acid or spice, which would have set it to the top, considering the buratta was world class Garden salad was fine. Chocolate dessert was fine, wouldve loved more marscapone and less blueberries, ratio was off. id come back

Such an AMAZING place!! I was looking for Argentinian restaurant to surprise my bf for his bday and oh boy! I nailed it. I’m so glad I picked this place, Miguel the manager was such an amazing guy. He’s staff so attentive and very professional kind with great charisma. We will definitely come back again! Thank you R40 and Miguel.

This restaurant is the perfect neighborhood spot. The food is delicious and there’s an impressive wine list. It’s casual, staff is friendly, and the space is lovely. The rigatoni and empanadas are absolute must-haves!

The service was not attentive at all. I had made a reservation and decided to sit at the bar. The poor bartender who was working alone making drinks for entire restaurants + patron @ bar was swamped. I waited 25 min to be given the menu - I thought this restaurant was Argentinean ? What is Argentinean about the menu ? Empanadas, pasta ?? It is a fusion style at best … Bar was designed so small that it can’t allow for 2nd waiter I also thought that the staff was not managed properly because it looked like 2 staff members were wondering - refilling water non stop while they could have grloed taking the orders at the bar - The food is good but menu is all over place and lacks true personality - I won’t return there are better upcoming places in LIc

We made a reservation and nobody greeted us in the front and we had to stand there for 10 minutes and we ended up seating ourselves. We waited 50 minutes for our food to arrive. The service was poor and the glasses of wine we received barely had anything in them. And the end of the meal, we felt rushed out the door. Overall an unpleasant experience.

Great dining experience all around. Food was absolutely delicious. Empanadas and chocolate olive oil cake are a must. Services was really great, out waiter was very friendly and helpful. Ambiance was lovely. We will definitely be back.
