Riccardo was born in Florence, Italy and grew up in Boston, MA. Marybeth, a Sioux Falls native, ventured to the east coast as a nanny and then nursing school in Somerville, MA. The two met, fell in love, and became engaged on Martha’s Vineyard island. Moving back to Sioux Falls in 1999 and working at several area restaurants, they opened R Wine Bar in 2018. As owners of R Wine Bar, Riccardo and Marybeth are passionate about one thing: people. They believe that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. With a curated wine list, local craft beer on tap, and beautifully executed menu, Riccardo and Marybeth are thrilled to bring R Wine Bar & Kitchen to the East Bank of Downtown Sioux Falls along with their General Manager, Jane Allen, Assistant Manager Bailey Bernal, Sous Chef Caleb Carr, Sous Chef Esteban Gonzalez, and Culinary Director Adam Schumacher.

Excellent food and the service was amazing. They even accepted for all of my food allergies. They were super helpful in finding modifications that would work for me. I decided on the Sea Bass without the cream sauce and it was excellent. My husband had the lemon cream pasta with chicken and he loved his food as well.

My friend and I had great service and the food was wonderful. Our waitress was very attenttive and helpful. The only problem was the table next to us talking very loud and the overall noise level of the restaurant was very loud. Hard to hear each other talk. I made an early reservation hoping it wouldn’t be so busy but it was a Friday night and already bustling when we got there. Other than the noise, it was great customer service and an excellent meal.

Our night out at R Wine Bar was so, so good! Jackson was our server and really was attentive to the special food requests by some of the friends at our table. One can’t have dairy and one was gluten free - both choosing the Sea Bass and said it was fabulous and they will definitely be returning to dine again!! Everything was perfect for our group!!!

Celebrated birthday. No singing. No cake. No ice cream. No Candles...just exceptional true Italian food, excellent red wine and great service and atmosphered. R Wine Bar & Kitchen is the top 3 restaurants in Sioux Falls.

This is my third time to this restaurant and I’m always happy to be there. Food is high quality, ambience, which matters a lot to me, is lovely, staff is friendly and attentive, price point is good and the location is user friendly. I look forward to my next ding experience there.
