Queen Violet is a modern Asian fusion restaurant in an unique European style building with a beautiful floral courtyard. Most of our dishes are inspired by Chef Sara Thongchoet. We also offer traditional Thai and Chinese recipes that make you feel at home. Chef Sara created her own recipes from her apartment in 2010 by cooking for her family and friends. Everyone loved her food, and her friends brought more friends! She quickly realized that the groups have gotten too big for her apartment. This moment of inspiration sparked her passion and her soul to become a chef. Chef Sara finally made “Queen Violet” happen in the heart of WeHo!
So why the name “Queen Violet”?
-Queen? We playfully imagine our customers to be Queen Bees returning to their hive (our restaurant).
-Violet? In Thailand, violet is the color of the LGBTQ, not the rainbow. So, we chose violet to represent our support for the LGBTQ community.

First timer. Found this spot on IG. Brought a friend from NC and we both loved it! Food was AMAZING, drinks were awesome and service was GREAT!! Highly recommend 10/10!!

The restaurant is set in a lovely space along Santa Monica Blvd. The Thai dishes we ordered were terrific including the soup. The Chinese dishes were mediocre at best. Service was good.

I absolutely love Queen Violet. I had been here multiple times, and had recommended to my best friend that we come here for her birthday. The food is always delicious. Granted, I would say if you can sit outside. Unfortunately, it was raining the day we went so we all squeezed in inside, but they were very accommodating. Personally, I just think the vibe and the aesthetic outside is hard to talk. However, the staff is very nice, the food was delicious, the drinks to myself personally are a bit more on the sweeter side. But absolutely I recommend coming here. It’s also not the most expensive place you can go so I feel like everything that is very reasonably priced. Plus you get a super aesthetically nice venue, but like I said, I think it’s a little nicer sitting outside versus inside. Especially if you’re trying to get photos and videos

Queen Violet continues to be one of my favorite brunch spots in weho. The food and ambience is always on point and the bottomless mimosas are a great value. We had an amazing waiter yesterday as well who was quick and efficient. However, the restaurant was very much understaffed. We waited 35 minutes for our drinks to come. In fact our first dish arrived before our drinks did. Another table also had the same issues. They definitely need two more servers on during peak times. Other than that, a great experience.

Really enjoyed my meal here. The Sriracha pasta and red curry are excellent and whatever the sauce is that comes with the cigars was also wonderful! Will be back again.

Great for IG pics of place, food and drinks. Service was ok, food was ok too. I asked my meal to be mild spicy but ended fire, so I took more than half of it home and ended up throwing it away cause it was inedible.

Honestly, probably one of the top 10 worst dinning experiences. Server was nice but apart from taking our order was completely absent the rest of our time there. Had to get up and find him for the check, only to be charged for items the kitchen ran out of and we never received. It was 6pm on a Monday and it wasn’t busy enough to warrant that. And added gratuity to the check. Food was also not great. Overall, complete dumpster fire

It looked much better on photos than in life. Outdated, cheap looking decor, old furniture, looking dirty. Service was super slow. Initially there were only two people serving the whole restaurant. The only good thing in this place was food. Food was delicious! For casual meal, the place was ok, but definitely not for a night out or a date.

My friend and I decided to try a new restaurant on OpenTable were very pleased with our choice. Reservations were a must because soon as we arrive, the place was packed our servers were pleasant and fairly attentive (but the restaurant was very busy for the two waiters present). The waitstaff eagerly answered all of our questions about the food preparation since many of the dishes were new to us. The food was flavorful, and the portions were great! The restaurant was beautifully decorated with flowers, and the restaurant is appropriately called Queen Violet. We will definitely be back to enjoy some of the other dishes we missed today!

I loved the ambience but! We had a salad, two starters and two main dishes. We got one of the mains first and then the starters with huge time in between. Because I wanted to have the main together I had to eat mine supper cold. Service was not the best

Celebrated my birthday here and the food and ambience were excellent along with the service. It took a bit to sit my party of 10 but once we sat everything was great. Super friendly and fast once we placed our order. Food was delish and everyone enjoyed their meals.

A friend and I went to Queen Violet for brunch, the reviews were amazing and we just had to try it out. When we arrived (with a reservation) there was no one at the booth to greet/seat us, it took about 5-10 min to get us seated but once we were the people were so nice! The drinks were so amazingly beautiful and delicious, the waitress was very accommodating and sweet. We did experience a little slip up with one of our dishes, but the waitress handled it so well! She apologized countless times and brought us the correct dish. The ambiance was nice, a little outdoor area with cute flower set ups, perfect for a girls day! Overall, the food, drinks, employees, and ambiance was great!

Was not informed about the dinner that night being an “experience”; serving three different dishes, $65 a person. However that wasn’t the issue at hand because I would have been okay paying if I felt it was worth it. The three course meal was extremely late in delivering the appetizer to my date, leading to my appetizer being cold once it arrived. They decided to give the first and second course meals all at once because of their lateness and disorganization with the appetizers, leading to 4 plates and drinks bundled together in a extremely small dinner table. The food was truthfully just okay, but not worth the experience price that was ultimately charged for. Cold for sure. Too many miscommunicated calls, especially in the end when I asked for the desert to be boxed and the check sent over. They only boxed one of the deserts and didn’t send the check. I had to go and grab the check myself. The dinner took over 2 hours to be completed. It’s the small things that made me felt like I wasn’t cared for. The weird thing was that the restaurant didn’t look entirely busy. 18% Tip was also charged automatically without consent. We were left very unsatisfied and I hope you guys think twice coming. Ambience is what this spot has going for it but it’s not worth the frustration with the rest of the aspects.

Nice decor, a violet light fills the garden dining area. Nearly empty on the Tuesday night before Valentine’s Day. Stood at the front of restaurant for 10 min to be greeted despite having hardly any patrons dining at that moment. The food arrived quickly and tasted great, however we were never checked on once the main dishes arrived. Had to flag someone down for the check after 15 mins of completing our meals. The service was lacking which I would usually cut some slack for but it was a slow night, so I was disappointed. Spicy beef salad was their saving grace for a recommendation. Parking lot is a plus in that area too.

Delectable dishes, best shared family style in order to sample. Eating on the patio a must. Heaters keep you toasty after dark. All the noodle dishes rule! Try the Hawaiian fried rice-a triumph! So friendly and welcoming. A wonderful place for Birthdays and any special occasion. We’ll be back!

The decor , the food , the drinks the ambience every thing was absolutely amazing. This isnt my last time visiting this place . I really enjoyed my food. One thing that i will say is i will come sooner than later to catch the brunch . We came for galentines and ordered the bottomless queen violet drink . It was great

Queen Violet was the PERFECT venue for my friends, family and golden retriever for my 40th birthday party! The atmosphere and lighting easily fostered fellowship and camaraderie amongst us. The staff was very accommodating to my 15+ guests. The food was served hot and was delicious!! I will be spending special occasions at Queen Violet in the future!!

First beware that they add an automatic 16% service charge for party of 1-4 persons which is kind of rare for this kind of neighborhood restaurant. I almost missed it and gave another 20% tips. Most items we ordered tasted good, especially the desserts, pancake and mango sticky rice. Unfortunately, the steak was so so. The waitress told us that the standard steak was cooked to medium rare but it looked more like medium. And the quality of the steak is really subpar for the price of $35. But all had great presentation, very vibrant colors. I asked and was told that the purple color pancake and noodle are made of natural ingredients, not food coloring which is good. The grilled octopus was a bit too sweet for my liking but it was pretty tender. I think we will come back to try other items if we are in the neighborhood.
