Quality Foods Market offers a unique culinary experience, featuring authentic Italian cuisine, in a relaxed, elevated casual, and intimate atmosphere. Enjoy a seasonally changing, from scratch menu, featuring both classic and modern pastas; hand cut steaks from USDA Certified Premium Hereford Heritage 1881 Beef; New Zealand Lamb Chops; USDA Certified Prime Veal; and the freshest seafood available, flown in from around the world throughout the week. In addition, Quality Foods Market offers a curated wine list with selections from all over the world, and an unrivaled craft and imported beer selection. Executive Chef Christopher Houp takes the time to interact with each and every guest throughout the dining experience, taking the Chef's Table concept to a whole new level. Tables are limited, with just 16 seats inside, and an additional 16 seats for al fresco dining. Our guests are treated to a true Italian dining experience, as we allow a minimum of three hours between reservations.

While we are frequent diners at Quality Foods, it is always a treat when Chef Chris offers special menus and the Mother’s Day Prix Fixe menu didn’t disappoint. The first course was a delectable pancetta wrapped scallop topped with gremolata. The scallop was huge, tender and a combination of smoky and sweet. Course two was beef carpaccio with an arugula salad. A generous portion topped with briny capers and shaved cheese. Yum! Next was an 8 oz Prime filet and two scampi (scampo?) tails served with eggplant and roasted marzano tomatoes topped with pecorino cheese. The filet was cooked perfectly and one of the most tender filets I’ve ever had. But let’s talk about the scampo! I’ve never even heard of these miniature lobsters but if I could eat a bowl of them, I would! Incredibly sweet and absolutely delicious. Served with a side of butter for dipping…perfection! Finally, Chef made a twist on tiramisu by making an almond-flavored version with amaretto and topped with almond brittle. So good I suggested he add it as a rotating option on their dessert menu. Overall, one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Bravo Chef Chris!

The food and service are outstanding. Chef Chris provides a personal experience for each table, making every visit unique. We've been here three times and Quality Foods Market has shined each time and has fast become our favorite restaurant.

Fortunate that we caught a night with lasagne, rarely on the special. Spicey sausage was flavorful but not so hot having you wish you opted for the cheese offering. Simply delicious. Both Chris and Emily stopped at the table to make sure everything was perfect, which it was.

Booked a late night table (10pm) and was the last table for the night, but the service and food was just as outstanding as I would have expected during a busier time. I've dined here a few times now and each time has been great. I enjoy the interaction and the education Chef Chris provides and every time has felt special. There is no other dining experience like Quality Foods Market and as far as Italian, it is the best in Tampa.

I've been eating here at least twice a month for close to two years now, and there has never been a time that my experience wasn't as good as the last. The food and service are excellent and Chef Chris is always on his game. Quality Foods Market is so consistent with their level of service and food, that after spending decades dining all over the globe, that I keep coming to the same conclusion, this is one of the best restaurants in the world. It's one thing to have an amazing experience some or most of the time, which is par for the course at some of the best restaurants around the globe. But to have an amazing experience every single time, over many dines - that's something special and unique.

What a fabulous wine tasting event! Chef Chris expertly stepped us through 14 wines paired with a large charcuterie board for each couple. Weather was lovely for the patio and the scale and pacing of the event was perfect! I look forward to the next special wine event!

My wife and I visited the first time a few weeks ago and they had a special coursed dinner they were advertising for Easter weekend. It looked so good we jumped on the chance and as much our first time was outstanding, this was even better. I love lamb but am leery about ordering it because most places do it with mint, something I don't like, and most places overcook it or it tastes gamey. These lamb chops were perfect. The best I've ever had. I asked the chef his preparation and he said olive oil, salt and pepper and then cooked over wood. I couldn't believe it. They cut like butter and had the best flavor. He also said he only gets his lamb from New Zealand and Australia because it's so much better than what is available here. Now I'm excited to come back and try his veal chop.

Another phenomenal meal. Even though it was busy, Chef Chris still spent quality time with every table. We love his passion and knowledge and all the fun facts and information he shares with us. We get an education with every visit.

OMG! Best Italian in the area! The lamb chops are amazing. Service is first rate too. Chef Chris doesn't just check on the tables like a restaurant manager, he actually interacts with them. It's so nice to enjoy a meal away from home where everyone actually cares about your experience.

What a delightful hidden gem! We love how small and intimate it is. We were greeted and seated by the Chef himself, who then took the time to go through the menu with us and answer questions. The rest of the service staff were also very professional and polite. It felt really nice to actually be served and not have waitstaff staring at a tablet trying to take your order. We were even more impressed with the food. The flat bread was some of the best bread we've ever had, and that was just the start. Then we had calamari and it wasn't fried like other places. It was done with a spicy red sauce and it too was amazing. Then came the house salad. I would go back just for that. I don't know what was in that dressing but I could drink it! Next up was dinner, and never has pasta tasted so good. I had pesto and the hubs had a spicy sausage and red pepper dish. Both were fantastic. The portions were nice too and we could only eat about half and took the rest home. We finished up with the best tiramisu ever and two glasses of limoncello! Overall this was a 5 star experience and we can't wait to come back.

Great meal! Chef Chris proved once again why Quality Foods Market is the best restaurant in Tampa. Every seat was filled and the service and quality of food did not miss a beat. We opted for the prix fixe and couldn't have been happier. The lamb chops are fire!

There is nothing like the Chef's table experience here. The food and service are impeccable, but Chef Chris is what makes a meal here stand out. We love his interaction with us at the table. Be sure to ask him for a wine recommendation. He'll ask a series of questions, then always manages to pick out the perfect bottle!

This is our third visit and each time we have been wowed by everything. We opted to dine outside this visit and other than AC, the great experience we've had twice indoors, was the same outdoors. The outside space is tight, but comfortable and we were impressed that we still got the same white table cloth service on the patio. Chef Chris explained that it's very common to dine outdoors regardless of time of year. It's close to Florida Ave, so there is traffic noise, but there is a big screen that blocks it off and with the music and other diners, it wasn't all that noticeable. It was a little warmer than we had anticipated, but there fans that keps us comfortable. The food and service are what brought us back, and that was the most important thing, and once again, everything was top notch. We highly recommend Quality Foods Market. Chef Chris and his staff offers one of the best and most unique dining experiences around.

Quality Foods Market is our first choice when dining out, and the only place we even consider any more for special occasions and holidays. We are always made to feel welcome, and when Chef Chris announces a special menu for the day, we jump on the opportunity. The stuffed clams and lamb chops with gremolata were nothing short of amazing, and the pistachio custard with dark chocolate shavings was like nothing we've ever had before. Chef Chris always delivers, and this was one of his best prix fixe meals ever.

Small and charming, are the first words that come to mind for this little European style market restaurant, where one of four tables await. The surroundings are part elegant and part homey. In other words, they are perfectly Italian, and the owner, Chef Chris, said he modeled it after his own experiences in Italy. The food was sublimely crafted and clearly made with fresh, quality ingredients. Each dish from the bread and salad, to the pastas and cannoli, were perfect. Chef Chris spent time at each of the tables and his passion really shows through in his personality and his food. This was one the most memorable dining experiences we've ever had.

There are 3 Michelin star restaurants in Tampa Bay, and none are as good as Quality Foods Market. Chef Chris delivers on his reputation for only serving the best with every single meal. I hope someday this little hidden gem gets the recognition it deserves.

This was our second time here and we can say without a doubt the first time was not a fluke. Two amazing experiences and Quality Foods Market is now our number one restaurant in the area. Chef Chris is an amazing talent and my husband and I find ourselves transported back to Italy in this charming little restaurant that reminds us of those special eateries we love to find in Europe. Another 5 stars plus for Chef Chris and his staff!

Quality Foods Market is the best Italian restaurant around. The pastas are so good I can't see myself having pasta anywhere else. I'm addicted to the pesto and the bolognese. If they offered carryout I'd be in real trouble because I would eat their pasta seven days a week!

This is our favorite restaurant in the area. It’s a hidden gem in the Lutz area — the food is outstanding and honestly superior to what you’ll get at the more well-known fine dining restaurants in Tampa. The owners are friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about food, wine, beer, and everything else that goes into a wonderful dining experience. You’ll also never feel rushed here: you are encouraged to enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace, they don’t overbook so there’s no need to hustle you out. I’ve recommended this place to many, and will continue to do so. We trust this place for our special occasions—birthdays, anniversaries, etc. — because we know we’ll have an amazing time, every time.

We have been wanting to get our dear foodie friends to QFM for months and we finally got our schedules to align and got a reservation. To say they were blown away is an understatement. We have been going out for dinner at least once a month with these friends for over a decade. We have tried everyplace that is anyplace in the Tampa area and have had a LOT of amazing meals through the years. Our friends said it was without a doubt their favorite meal thus far of any place we have been. Chef Chris and his lovely Wife Emily once again outdid themselves. Everything from the escargot to the scallops, to the house made roman flat bread, to the salads, and the veal, lamb, and ribeye were simply perfection. Such extraordinary food paired with such warm and personal service make for an incomparable evening. Our new ATF for sure.

Another outstanding and memorable dining experience with family! Chef Chris makes THE best authentic Italian dishes with many of his ingredients flown in weekly from Italy. Favorite antipasti dishes include the caprese salad with the most delicious roasted Campari tomatoes and the carciofi alla Romana marinated artichokes both a must try! There are so many wonderful pasta dishes to choose from and generous portions to take home and enjoy the next day. This is a small restaurant with Chef Chris making everything to order himself so be prepared to sit back and relax enjoying each course accompanied by a wide selection of wines. Highly recommend Viva Valentina made with organic San Giogiovese grapes. We finished our meal with limoncello cake, cannolis and cappuccinos which was the perfect ending to an outstanding meal!

As always, everything was delicious. We brought a friend from out of town who was very impressed that we have such a gem right in our neighborhood. The lumache (snails) were a perfect starter with a hearty portion perfect for 3 people. Make sure you sop up all the sauce with some of Chef Chris’s house made bread! We were in the mood for pasta and went with our favorites — the Ragu alla Bolognese and the Salsiccia e Peperoncino Arrosto with the spicy sausage. Both are portions large enough to have leftovers for the next day.

Second time back in a week for a business dinner and everything was superb again. Chef Chris and his staff went above and beyond for my group with excellent food and great service on short notice. We have already talked to him about hosting our Christmas party here this year.

Since I found Quality Foods Market, I've been bringing my family about once a week. It is the best and most authentic Italian in the area, but you can't beat the steaks here either. The ribeye is better than any of those fancy steakhouses in Tampa. I've gotten it several times and Chef Chris prepares it perfectly every time. It's rare any more than one can find a place that has great food and service, but Quality Foods Market is always right on point with both.

We love this little restaurant. We did all meat instead of pasta. Lamb chops, veal chop, and truffle butter ribeye. THE BEST! Better than any steakhouse or other chophouse around. All were perfectly seasoned, cooked correctly, and OMG SO JUICY. No gaminess to the lamb at all. The veal had a cheese crust on top that was to die for. As for the ribeye, it was just perfection all the way around. We also had a side of mashed beans that were insanely tasty. Can't wait to go back!

Great experience! Everything was excellent. Best pasta anywhere, a sausage and tomato pasta and a cacio pepe. The scallop appetizer was so good we ordered a second. Even the bread and salad were a solid A and the pistachio cannoli was an A+ and beats any of the ones I've had in NYC.

We had high expectations going in and Quality Foods Market exceeded every one of them! The food and the service were perfect, and the chef's table experience was educational and fun. Chef Chris is a fantastic host and we felt like we were dining in his home. We highly recommend.

I can't say enough good things about my experience. The food was top notch - the best bolognese pasta I've ever had - cooked al dente the way it's supposed to be. The bread and salad were solid - like 10 out of 10 solid. The service was great - the chef's tableside experience is like nothing else out there. I will be back and recommend that anyone looking for the best Italian food or dinner with tableside chef's service try it out.

It's the best dining experience anywhere. Chef Chris welcomes you into his restaurant and the level of hospitality feels like you are a guest in his home. The food is amazing, and you can tell that Chef Chris is proud of what he serves. There are lots of good Italian restaurants in Tampa, but this is the best by a mile.

Crazy cool place. Super small but big on personality. I could not believe the beer selection. Over 1000 beers and hundreds of wines in this four table restaurant that's half restaurant and half bottle shop. Starting with the restaurant, I've never had better Italian and the service was excellent. I've also never seen a Chef that splits time between talking with customers and helping the servers, and then disappears for a bit to make food. Then reappears again to check on everyone. Everything we had to eat was SO good. The pastas were magnifico! We had a great experience overall and I left with a few hundred bucks worth of brews. Just an amazing place!

Last night was one of the best meal experience of my life. Quality Foods Market has redefined my definition of fine dining. I have visited Italy and Spain several times and this charming little four table eatery brought me back there for a few hours. The space is small and intimate where the food and wine are excellent, all showcased and highlighted by a very talented chef. My favorite dish of the evening was the arugula pesto with fresh made egg pasta. Divine. The plating isn't fancy or elaborate. The food is the highlight, not how pretty the plate is, and the food is fabulous. One bite and you can taste the quality of the ingredients. The preparation of each dish was executed perfectly as well. I especially love that Chef Chris is an open book and will tell you anything you want to know about the menu and I even heard him giving some home cooking tips to the next table over. This was an experience like no other in Tampa Bay. Five stars plus!

Absolutely the best experience. As of you are in Italy at a tiny wine, sandwich, dessert, deli and fine dining restaurant. Chef zooms with italian chefs weekly and most everything is brought in from Italy. Only 5 tables and it is yours for the night. Chef explains everything and answers all questions. Expensive but all things of great value are. This is a one of a kind place that has pizza also for outside dining. Chef made the most amazing authentic bread that is only found in Italy. Will also entertain special requests made in notes on reservation if he can. THE BEST. I see why it is #1 in west central Florida on Open Table.
