Great view of the sunset but food mediocre. Had the coconut shrimp and they were huge and so tough/chewy. I could not eat them. The restaurant apologized and said they were cooked at too high a temperature. Wee were a group of five and nothing was that memorable. My daughter got the salmon fillet and it was undercooked. The only reason we went here was because someone said it was like Captains Cove, but it’s nowhere close. They need to hire a new chef. I do not recommend.

for 20 years we have gone to the captains cove on our last nite in cancun - they closed during the last year - puerto santos is an more than excellent spot for a sunset dinner on the cancun lagoon - loved it!

Puerto Santo en La Laguna es un lugar genial para comer. La comida es increíble, con platos que realmente capturan los sabores locales y te sorprenden con toques internacionales. El servicio es top, siempre atentos y amables. Y ni hablar del atardecer, es impresionante ver cómo cae el sol sobre la laguna mientras disfrutas tu cena. Definitivamente, vale la pena pasarse por ahí si estás buscando buena comida y una vista espectacular.

Great view of the sunset! Our waiter was incredibly attentive and helpful in making suggestions for food & drink. We even spotted a crocodile in the lagoon! For those of us missing Captain’s Cove this is a great choice.

El lugar es muy bonito PERO: no estaba lleno y esperamos aproximadamente 40 mins por la comida y no pedimos nada muy elaborado. Mis camarones coco, estaban crudos, los mandamos de vuelta y al traerlos de vuelta estaban cocidos pero ahogados en aceite. La botana trae salsa, TODAS picantes, deben tener una opción sin chile para aquellos a los que no les gusta. El precio, moderado. Creo que el premio del restaurante, se lo lleva el DJ.

Service is the best I ever meet, maybe I have not much experience to visit restaurants, but I did 312 flights all over the world, service like in this place I will be remembered for the rest of my life, I was thought that it will be sky high bill by the end, but it wasn’t which is also pleasure surprise for me. Recommend for everyone, good dinner with drinks need to prepare budget approximate 100USD$ P.P. Amazing and unforgettable place

This restaurant is directly across the street from The Royal Sands in the Hotel Zone, so super convenient for people staying at RS. The flooring is decking that is directly above the lagoon just a few feet below, so you are right on the water, and you have a beautiful view of the sunset. We visited two times on our trip to Cancun, and the coconut shrimp and sea bass were so good we had to go back. We had someone in a wheelchair in our party, and the wait staff was so happy to carry her up and down the 15 steps (no elevator). Thank you Fernando, Concho, and Jorge, for two exceptional experiences!

Can’t judge them as it was a cold windy night. They brought tables into an enclosed area they had. No ambiance but warm. Food was good.

This was our first visit. This has to be one of the best views of any restaurant in hotel zone, it is beautiful. The ambiance is warm and exotic, with hanging lanterns, over the water, and nicely spaced tables so you are not competing with the next table to be heard. Service was friendly and if the gentlemen serving us is not the owner, then he really is great in his role. It was welcoming and funny and so passionate as he convinced us to try things that may not have been on our usual list. The only concern with this restaurant that kept us coming visiting the second week in Cancun was the lack of non-seafood options. There was very little to offer and we had two people in our party the second week that do not do seafood at all. For those of us who love seafood, it did not disappoint, it was delicisous. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Nice to leave the resort (across the street from Royal Sands). Just be careful, the traffic is heavy and there isn't a safe place to walk so it is a dash to the median and a dash to cross.

La comida estuvo bien, sin embargo el servicio fue muy malo. Eramos 10. Los platillos llegaron 2 primero, 10 minutos después, otros 4 no los habían empezado a preparar cuando ya habían terminado el resto de la gente. Cada 5 min nos decían que ya estaba listo. Llegamos 7:15 y nos sirvieron los últimos platos a las 9:00. Anteriormente había ido y no había habido problema, no se si cambiaron de administracion.

La vista espectacular, la comida equis, gastamos casi dos mil pesos por lo cual íbamos a dejar el 10 de propina, casi 200 pesos, el mesero muy prepotente nos dijo que solo aceptan el 20.. no volvemos y no lo recomiendo

La comida y bebida que habia era buena. Muchas opciones del menu tanto comida y bebida no habia disponible entonces lo que pudimos escoger era muy poco. Al final de la noche cuando llego el momento de pagar el mesero no entrego la cuenta completa y nos dijo que las 2 bebidas que faltaba en la cuenta costaba $250 c/u, pedimos que los agregaba y al prinicpio no quiso. Cuando ya los agrego eran $350 c/u cuando el menu tenia otro precio. Para no perder mas tiempo, lo pagamos y nos fuimos.

Great place. Food was very good. The music was a little loud with a live band. Staff worked very hard despite our limited Spanish. We loved the ambience. Got there just in time for a beautiful sunset. They very kindly put the basketball game we were watching on my phone up on on the big screens...and then started rooting for our team! Great experience. We will be back.

Restaurant is casual and has a fun atmosphere. Open air and against the lagoon. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Live music band was very good. Mixed drinks were very good. Food and appetizers were average. Oysters tasted a bit off, grilled fish was overdone and the sides were underwhelming. Would be a good place to start the evening.

Food was good - better than expected. Very rustic setting and the pier feels a bit wobbly. But the food saved the day with excellent flavors and preparation. The soup is exceptional!
