As the name suggests, P.S. Steak was established to continue the story of the historic space that was once famed La Belle Vie. As Chef Mike DeCamp spent 10 years at the former French restaurant, this will be his homecoming and opportunity to write his own chapter for the space. P.S. Steak disrupts the perceptions of a typical steakhouse while honoring the legacy of one of the great culinary foundations in the Twin Cities.
The restaurant features an elevated yet accessible seasonal menu, along with a variety of cuts of meat, dry aged in a display case.
The lounge has been given a modern makeover with chic furniture and marble table tops. A selection of living floor plants divides tables to create intimate seating. Bringing warmth to the room, the bar and adjacent fireplace keeps guests cozied up to a menu of progressive cocktails.

Very cool atmosphere but the food was the real issue. Salad was wilted. Steaks were below average for the price. The mashed potatoes were awful with a glue-like texture. The server kept trying to push the most expensive cuts of meat on us. Over priced as you would expect for a good steakhouse. The problem was the food just wasn’t worth it.

Amazing food and service, as always. Was very disappointed that on Saturday night service, they ran out of beef tenderloin, which is my go-to and favorite steak anywhere.

We always love the steak. The Aligot potatoes are also amazing. We enjoyed the 1929 sour cocktail, which was fantastic. We had the winter recipe for the mussels in cream broth, which was outstanding. The fresh baked pull apart bread was very light and moist. The mixed salad was very salty and disappointing. The rainbow trout was very dry, and the farro portion excessive. The baked Alaska dessert was a colorful display. I would try the lemon sorbet version to keep it a little lighter. The 5 to 6 PM discount is a great deal. The service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is private and pleasant and full of natural light. PS Steak is great at just what they say – steak.

Service was excellent - my husband and I had the steak trio- the Denver steak was medium rare on the ends but very rare, almost raw in the middle, the shoulder steak was ok and the last piece was chewy and not really edible- we sent that back and they did give us a second Denver. The aligot potatoes were good tasting, but gluey- possibly from the cheese.also very greasy! The mushrooms were good, but I would have expected a larger portion for the cost. Overall the meal was adequate, but I would not go here for a steak at the price point we paid for the entire meal and drinks. Our server on the other hand was excellent!

High quality food. Enjoyed the restaurant week menu plus the new 3 steak on a plate option. Fun to try A5 and Waygu.

Special Bison ribeye was tremendous. Jeff the server is very knowledgeable and helpful. He is a fully invested in making sure you have a memorable dining experience. Outstanding food. Appetizers are always great. The authentic Japanese A5 Wagyu beef is amazing. I am not a fan of the fatty parts of the KC Strip steak. Overall- I can’t wait to go again for lobster toast.

They started charging $10 plus tax and tip for valet. Not good. We were seated in the dining room bar, not the regular bar. Probably short of staff but weird decor. Food was not up to usual standard.

We’ve dined at PS about 20 times. Our latest meal was only so-so. Other times it was excellent. 135.00 bone in steak was extremely fatty. I spit out at least three bites (usually only have six pieces that my boyfriend shares with me - I don’t order my own steak) Disappointing…

Great experience. Our server was wonderful. Our one miss was the bison tataki- there really isn’t a need for the level of spice in the dish. The other flavors stand on their own. The Denver steak, sautéed mushrooms, and mashed potatoes were all perfect.

An amazing experience. The steaks were absolutely perfect and our drinks were wonderful. The service was exceptional. I can't recommend P.S. Steak enough. This is the premier steakhouse in the Twin Cities.

Really great location, ambiance, and service. Reminds you of an old school steakhouse in NYC. Food was delicious and dinning area is very elegant but not stuffy. 4 of 5 stars overall because it’s just a bit more expensive than some other local competitors - but would certainly recommend to others.

This was an incredible experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding, but the service and the mocktail menu were the star of the show! Jeff, our waiter… just an amazing human being. We will definitely return!

Make sure you click into the Dining Room or Lounge area first before searching availability. We arrived expecting to sit in the dining room but apparently had “accidentally” reserved the lounge on OpenTable instead. It was our first visit and this was a disappointing way to start, as we were hoping for a dark traditional steakhouse feel. The good news is that the lounge was also beautiful and has the same menu. The oysters were surprisingly fresh and tasty - they only serve the “pink moon” variety but they were excellent! We felt the steaks were A+ in preparation and taste, as I would expect for this location. The wine menu is very expensive and raised our bill by $100, so keep an eye out for the creep there. Soda served in small glass bottles and poured over ice. Complimentary valet was a nice touch - make sure to tip your valet, they offer app tipping like Venmo, cash and PayPal. The restaurant also charges a 5% employee wellness fee.

Great venue, but when you are a steak house, you need to be able to do a rare steak. If it had not been an anniversary dinner, I would have sent back the medium rare+ steak.
