Adorned with stunning marble tables, intricate gold ceiling inlay, plush soft seating, and grand circular bar we have recreated a time that was filled with elegance, extravagance, and indulgence. Housed in the historic Hotel Fort Des Moines, we have taken every step possible to protect a valued piece of Des Moines’ cherished history. Two semi-private areas available, seating eight and ten guests respectfully.

Proudfoot & Bird was the perfect place to celebrate my recent medical school graduation & engagement. We had reserved a private space and it was perfect. Our server was attentive and we never felt rushed. Unfortunately, my dad, who is in a wheelchair, was unable to attend with us that evening but the space they had prepared for him & the accessibility of the restaurant (other than having to enter through the hotel to avoid the steps outside the restaurant) would have been just fine. There is plenty of room to navigate with a wheelchair if needed. The food was excellent. Our favorite starter was the pork belly or the wood butter oysters. People at our table had the pork ribeye, halibut and scallops all of which were great. The cocktails & mocktails were wonderful and if you had a request, (I requested a grapefruit spritz and my mom requested a gin bramble) they were able to easily accomodate that as well. Don't miss the New York style cheesecake at the end. Thank you Proudfoot and Bird for a great spot for a celebration!

Fabulous food! Wow-totally enjoyed every bite! I did not care for the wine and plan to bring our own next time and pay the corking fee.
