Don't go for food except the huge pretzel. The beer was warm and food needs to be seasoned .

Great bar in the Lincoln Park area service German style food. We stopped in and were very impressed with the beer selection. I am a big fan of Hefeweizen beer and they had multiple different heffes on tab, which is very unusual in Chicago bars. I ended up getting a burger. The cheeseburger was decent, little more greasy than I would. The bar tender working that night was very helpful and we got our beer and food fast. Looking forward to coming back to try other drafts and the German style food I have seen on the menu.

Great food, beer, and service. It feels very much like a true German beer hall. My only complaint is that while I personally liked the music, I felt it wasn't super appropriate for my young niece/nephews and mother. I do feel like I could have approached the servers about it though, and they may have changed it to something more family friendly.

We had a very enjoyable meal with my parents at Prost! Exactly the atmosphere you are hoping for from a German beer hall. On the loud side, and the service was a little slow, but if you’re not in a rush and don’t mind the noise it’s truly a great place. Definitely order the soft pretzel! It’s fantastic!

Way too many TV screens and noise for me. But the beer is great, as is the service. The food is OK - just don't get the potato pancakes.

Our food and service were excellent. The pretzel is out of this world and the Mac n cheese is great. Our server Ashlynn was incredible and attentive. I will be back!

Great food. Was there on a night with trivia competition so elected to eat outside - have learned to deal with the halts in conversation when the L passes overhead. Be prepared to have to order dinner and drinks from someone at the bar. Once order was placed, service was quick and competent, but there was no followup. Had to wander back inside just to get the check so we could pay and leave.

Having grown up in Germany I always look for a good German place. This place isn’t quite up to par. The sausages/wursts were okay however the Kartoffel Puffer were over done to the point where they were too hard to even bite into or cut. The cabbage/rot kohl wasn’t like it was supposed to be at all. In terms of value you get a lot of food for a very decent price. Service was good since we were the only people there when it opened in the afternoon.

This place is awesome. Sort of a dive bar, but the food is incredible. If you like beer and brats, go here!! We will go back! Nothing fancy! But great!

Too loud to have a conversation. There was a heat lamp on above our table. Not sure why as we were inside. Able to have turned off Service was slow, the table next to us walked out on their check so hopefully the restaurant will get the server a tip. Server was amazing!

Good food but really loud and not great service. The waitstaff was only paying attention to one loud group. I took my boyfriend here for a celebration and waited 3 hours to get everything we ordered.

Of course, you have to have the pork schnitzel! Crispy and huge portion! The spaetzle was good, but needed a bit more seasoning. The side of red cabbage was served cold which was a surprise, but it was still good. Overall, a really nice German meal.

Prost was great! We had a large res for a birthday and we were very late for our res. They helped us reschedule for later and kept our cake in their fridge for us! Great place to go with a big group. Our server was very good

Greta place to watch games in Lincoln Park with a lot of TVs a good sound. This is a Green Bay Packers bar and a Soccer bar. Food is traditional German and has fun glasses and a good list of beers. Easy going staff and fun. Grey bar!!

We didn't end up eating, or even hanging out, so this isn't an informed review of the food and experience at Prost! It's a complaint about them delivering inaccurate information. I was visiting Chicago over the weekend with my eight year old; we wanted to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers football game Sunday afternoon, and Prost! had come recommended. We'd need to travel about 45 minutes from our Loop hotel, and in the opposite direction of Midway Airport where we'd need to hustle for our flight after the game. Prost! sounded like a fun, if out-of-the-way, venue for us. In the weeks before our visit, a few emails and phone calls to confirm they'd have the game went unanswered. The night before, I phoned repeatedly until someone answered; he assured me they get "most NFL games, as long as they're not on ESPN" so sure, they should have ours. We arrived for our 12:00 reservations to find a grand total of *two* patrons in the joint, and no Steelers game, only the local Bears. "We don't get Sunday Ticket," the bartender informed me. Happily the pair at the bar were able to direct us to McGee's, a "hardcore Steelers bar" ten minutes away. Thanks, ladies - a quieter back room there was perfect for us. So I have no basis for rating Prost!'s food or service, and can only pass along that (a) getting a simple question answered required persistence, after multiple attempts via their site's "contact us" link & phone calls were ignored; (b) once I connected, I was misled; and (c) they had two patrons shortly after noon on a Sunday, while other nearby venues were full.

What a fun place! The food was outstanding and the vibe and atmosphere was lively. I will dream about the pretzel and pork schnitzel with spaetzle and gravy. Delicious.
